I'm sorry for the Anne Boleyn/Henry VIII fans, but Henry and Catherine are the OG. Their love for each other is so beautiful and strong. Season 1 was personally my favorite, because it shows the innocence of this relationship and how they were willing to fight for one another. Every couple has their own struggles, and I know he goes on and has five other wives; but you never forget your first true love. The pure, selfless, passionate love they feel for one another. Also, he was married to her the longest so that definitely says something. Catherine also couldn't help the fact that she had miscarriages and had Mary. I feel bad for her. I also see comments about how people already get sad seeing the show cause they know the ending, but look at the beauty of this relationship and this love that they knew was worth fighting for. Just because it looks good in a tv show doesn't mean it could have looked good in real life as well, god knows how their marriage was in real life , after she was his brother's widow .
First I want to say something. We don't know if their love is really like him and the fans of Anne Boleyn don't care if Henry loves Anne first because he's a dirty man. I don't know why Catherine's fans care, but it seems like a dirty man like Henry values Catherine you're living in an old age no matter Henry loves it's important you're the one you love or your favorite queen. After all, his true love, Jane, is not Catherine.

The actor who plays young King Henry VIII in the Spanish Princess is probably closer to how the real King Henry looked than the actor who played him in The Tudors since Henry was described as a redhead with possibly green or blue eyes.

I believe King Henry genuinely loved Queen Catherine way more than any of his later wives. For Anne Boleyn, he only lusted for her. If he did love her he wouldn’t have gotten her beheaded so quickly with little or no remorse. She was always seen as another disposable mistress to him. For Jane Seymour, he only said that she was his favorite wife because she gave him a son after two previous marriages. For Anne of Cleves, he only saw her as a friend after they split. It was a loveless marriage for both of them. For Katherine Howard, it’s the same as Anne Boleyn: Lust not love. It was also to make him feel young again. And for Catherine Parr, their marriage mainly consisted of them doing many activities as close friends. It wasn’t true love. But King Henry knew Catherine of Aragon his whole life basically, she taught him how to be a ruler for England, was crowned alongside him, and they were marriage the longest than any of the other women King Henry wed. I think deep down, Henry always saw Catherine as his soul mate but let his ambition for a son to secure his line consume him.
