I was a young kid when my mom took me to see my first opera at Lincoln Center. It was "La Boheme" starring Catherine Malfitano. I have LOVED opera ever since. Thank you Ms. Malfitano for a great, treasured memory.
I saw her sing the duet from 100th anniversary of the Met in the Berlioz Romeo/Juliette, but it was the Tatyana at Levine's 25th Anniversary that TOTALLY hooked me. What a singer and actress! Would that I could have seen her sing the entire role.
Complitly agree with you. I saw Malfitano so many time on stage and in différents Opéras houses all over the world. But no so many records. A shame but...I was lucky to see her (and talk with her many time) so no regret. Best regards
