Same with the African guy. He couldn't stop laughing! Apparently, the "this is not my sandwich" part came from when he got the wrong sandwich at lunch that day 😂
True. I never understood the THIS IS NOT MY SANDWICH LINE, untill I learned during breaks between filming he had been given the wrong sandwich and said those words 😂😂😂 Catherine was winding him up to laugh. He did a great job of holding it together 😅😅
Absolutely brilliant reactions from you two. Great to see people understanding the comedy element and laughing along with it!😂👍, again love from england!♥️🏴
I had the honour of meeting Catherine Tate a couple of years ago in Telford, England. You honestly couldn't meet a nicer person. She was amazing with my autistic nephew too. She treated you like you were friends. Amazing woman.
On the day of filming, they had to pause several times because the Japanese lady and the gentleman from Nigeria could not stop laughing. If you look closely, you can just see the beginnings of him breaking at the end of the segment where she mentions the sandwich. Fabulous reaction! 💙
You guys crack me up! 🤣🤣 One of the best "reactions" to this, ever! And yes, you got it totally right, she's talking "gibberish," an imitation of the way a language might _sound_ to someone who'd never learned it. I've often wondered what various English accents would sound like, in a similar vein. It's always the Chinese woman's reaction that gets me most. I love the fact that the camera doesn't pan to her until _after_ Tate starts "speaking in Chinese!" It's not racist, it's pure comedy gold 😉😉 Love to you guys from the UK!
I remember seeing this when it first came out and this was a really popular show and i could hear my neighbours screaming with laughter through the wall as well which just made it even funnier lol
This took days to film, the Chinese woman an the African man just couldn't hold it together, watch his face when it's his turn he's actually trying so hard not to crack,,,Catherine Tate is awesome,if you haven't seen her nan sketches you need to watch them she doesn't disappoint..🏴🏴😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Funny isn't it that there are people out there who want this banned as it is "OFFENSIVE and RACIST" yet everyone who watches it just laughs at something funny because they have a brain and realise it is just a skit to make you laugh and smile.. as we all no it is just that the people who want it banned who really have a dull funless laughter free zone of a life
WHO out there wants it banned as offensive and racist? I always see these comments that are just invented grievances feeding off each other. Get me a citation of one ACTUAL request to ban it.
Dam it,my phones wet from me crying so hard! Subbed 🤭 don't know if you've done the I hear your a racist now father sketch from father ted, I think you'd enjoy!
Apparently it took many takes to do this skit, most of which were due to the Chinese lady bursting into laughter, as noted below, but the rest were due to the African guy. The quip about "It's not my sandwich" is referring to when the cast had lunch together while filming, because he was given the wrong sandwich by the caterer, said that phrase, and Catherine included it in her dialogue 🤣
Just shows how much of a comedic genius she is, instead of showing the flags after italy she either just showed their faces and or didnt show anything to mix it up
Apparently they had to re-shoot the chinese woman several times because she kept laughing. You can actually see the Nigerian guy trying not to laugh. Catherine Tate is one the top comedians in the UK. This was made a few years ago. It would not be allowed on TV today. LOL
