Filmmaker and photographer Catherine Yass shows us her London studio and the camera she has been using for twenty-five years.
Catherine Yass is noted for her films and brightly coloured photographs. Her stills present an image which is usually a combination of the positive and negative. Many of her works are mounted on light boxes. Her films explore architecture, space, geography and landscape.
Yass's subjects are varied: her early works often depict the people and institutions who commissioned, supported, or curated her work.

In my view, an artist working in the medium commonly used by photographers. Not sure beyond that. I assume people buy her work. And commission it. All a mystery to me. I can't say any of it touches me to any degree. Those are my thoughts. She should continue doing what fires her creative vision. As I'm sure she will!

I found her take on photography refreshing, she goes beyond shooting a pretty picture imo

Nice title. 😂 Give me a break! Sounds like she’s got a real head on them shoulders. I mean, she tries to make “work that provokes thought,” people! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Had the same idea here. It's just boring. Good photographers are everywhere and rarely need to "alter" their negatives to make them better.

@@DarkAngelEU good photographers have altered their negatives and other materials for over 100 years.

Because it numbs your thinking, ie politicians would like to support this boring charade pretending to be thought provoking art.

@@DarkAngelEU how isn’t it art?
