As a Protestant, I want to thank Bishop Barron for this sermon. Thank you for keeping to the text of Scripture so that millions can say Amen. Blessings from the UK.
*Larry Burkett's book on "Giving and Tithing" drew me closer to God and helped my spirituality. 2020 was a year I literally lived it. I cashed in my life savings and gave it all away. My total giving amounted to 40,000 dollars. Everyone thought I was delusional. Today, 1 receive 85,000 dollars every two months. I have a property in Calabasas, CA, and travel a lot. God has promoted me more than once and opened doors for me to live beyond my dreams. God kept to his promises to and for me*
It is the digital market. That's been the secret to this wealth transfer. A lot of folks in the US and abroad are getting so much from it, God has been good to my household Thank you Jesus
I had an apparition after receiving the Eucharist 30 years ago at Mass in Ashington Northumberland and one two years ago after visiting the Eucharist In a small oratory at Ards Monastery when reciting the Perfect Prayer
If I have the faith to move mountains, Paul says, but I have not love, I'm nothing. Beautiful sums up the whole thing. Thank you, Bishop Barron. May God bless you.
Really good message. I often think about the fact that God hates pride. Why? I think its because pride is the love (or exultation) of self. But God calls us to love one another. Two totally different (and probably opposite) viewpoints of who we are and what we are called to do. God bless you and Bp Barron. Thanks!
Thanks for this teaching I realized I need to further work on self forgiveness and learn to love myself, at the moment I’m empty and wandering why thank you Father for your teaching
If you find yourself wanting to eliminate sins from your life just because they're a burden, then that's the Holy Spirit. It's not "natural" to desire purity just for the sake of feeling clean and fresh. That's not "normal". It's supernatural.
It is hard living in chronic pain. I too live with chronic pain, and I feel for you. Suffering is so part of this life, and yet we constantly try to find relief.
@firstlast6292 I'm so terribly sorry you lost your daughter, Martha. May her and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. You both will be in my daily Rosaries. ✝️ 💔 🕊 🌹 🧡 ❤
Beautiful lesson on the signs of the Holy Spirit. One sign that especially got my attention is "intellectual curiosity." We being so in love with Jesus, we want and strive to learn everything we possibly can about Him. I believe that is what we are doing right now seeking and listening to Bishop Barron. Thank you for posting the Bishop's message.
@@craftybarb6220 Please ignore Joan Dempsey. You certainly don't deserve that barb from such a troll. May God surround, embrace and bless you. ✝️ 💔 🕊 🌹 📿 ❤
I feel content moat always but i peay for humility. I do know when the Holt Spirit is in me as the Bishop said... Pure Joy! When im a syate of Geace and with a contrite heart and i ask the Father through Jesus for His Holy Spirit. For me its undeniable! All praise to God
I always thought the Holy Spirit was the Love between the Father and the Son. I always learn something new from you! Thank you Bishop Barron! You're the Best!❤
I can't count the amount of times people ask me, "Why are you so happy all the time?" I usually say, "Well, that's a question for Jesus." I guess I should say, "Its the Holy Spirit."
What I find helps for me is to type your question in google, and read the commentaries about that subject or verse, and it will be revealed to you. I love doing that. I think that the ones who weep and mourn with hearts open to God will be blessed, because they will be comforted through Jesus Christ in the way that the world cannot give.
Joy comes from people of the world too...who are not engaged in the gospel or even who are not Christians. It can seem unfair that they could be so happy in the world when other Christians might not feel/ or seem so joyful., and they want to be. We can be in the word and yet still feel not joyful sometimes. Perhaps it is just a human condition no matter what.
Unfortunately it doesn’t require the Holy Spirit to perform “good works”. There are some very loving and giving people who do not even believe that there is a God. Don’t get caught up on externals. We can’t know a person’s heart. Only God knows our hearts. Just because the Holy Spirit dwells within us does not mean that He will repel evil spirits. The apostle Paul suffered even though he boldly proclaimed Christ.
After this you will be baptized according to Acts 2:38 , these verses are straight out of the NAB with this on the back cover " Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ " St. Jerome . Why am i catholic or Why should I become catholic please help me my priest ask the ? my answer my father and mother i am 72 year old and now go to church have Sunday
I hope you will clarify something please: Is Bishop Barron an evangelical? Is he married? Did he have to switch from Catholic priest to evangelical pastor because he is married? Or because of his Christian Nationalism views? What I've read about him is very troubling. Thank you.
He is a celibate , Catholic priest that was chosen to become a bishop. Again, he is not married and is a clergy member of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. He evangelizes through Word on Fire .
@@bon47ful Try to investigate your sources. That will help unravel the conflict. Continue to pray and seek a priest to talk with, explain your circumstances. This will help you. God bless you.
The true meaning of Christianity returns, not JC personally. It starts here. The proper understanding that biblical creation is of spiritual nature, not material nature has been discovered. Biblical creation is metaphors for psychological factors not material and is the creation of Adam. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRISTIANITY. (sequence) I will send you Elijah before the great day of the lord.(the nutball has arrived. 1 The entrance of Elijah the messenger. Embodied in the knowledge of the Old Seers. 2 Christianity as present of the world is proven false. 3 The world falls into disbelief. 4 The world mostly takes on the new knowledge. 5 Governments are removed or become inert. 2 camps are created one good-the greater number falls away. 6 The good leave the cities, go into hiding for safety. 7 End time arrives. The evil with no governance destroy their own kind. (by the hand of man will man's blood be shed) 8 Proper Christianity remains. e
Sorry, Bishop but you're suggesting that protestantism is of God. You're helping to propagate protestantism by suggesting that they are part of the Body of Christ. That can't be right. It is impossible for any protestant church to be right without the credibility of Jesus being brought into question. I'm out!
@@birdlynn417 The Holy Spirit is God Almighty Himself, please bear that in mind and seriously ponder on what you mean by the Holy Spirit being in other churches. Of course God Loves us all irrespective of whether we choose Him or not, but my point is that it is impossible for God to call anyone to be a non Catholic. I did not say that it is impossible for a non Catholic to go to Heaven, but that the Catholic Church is the only vehicle to Heaven. I also believe that our Lord who is the King of Mercy Himself will have mercy on those who for no fault of their own found themselves outside the Catholic Church but lived well (as there are many Muslims and others who live better Christian lives than many Christians).
@@johniteshi4457 I am age 64 now, and have lived my life in a few churches, as well as visited some more in my time...some I would not ever return to and some maybe once in a while, but hard to stay settled in just one. I am glad that in my life of hardships, lack of transportation, living with now chronic pain and disability and alone, that I was or am able to receive some comfort and support or meaning from a few of the churches which I also experienced God's presence in. I too, am Catholic as of 2017, but I have found them out of reach in location or transportation, and even when I was, it was a lonely experience of coming and going and noone to be accounted for or who would check up on members. The LDS does do that, they are formed in the way that Christ teaches us to be for one another, and I have found that very much loved and supported like none other church before. All I can say is that God is not in a box, and my eyes are opened as well as my brain when I can receive his Holy Spirit in different ways in different churches, and that is when I see our likeness and connection, still.
The Holy Spirit isn't a person The Holy Spirit is the divine power of God. Jesus debunked the doctrine of the Trinity. Jesus said. 'I and the Father are one' John 10:30 Jesus also said: "If you have seen me you have seen the Father". John 14:9 Everywhere in the Holy Bible, each time Jesus talked about God the Father and himself, Jesus never included the Holy Spirit. Also, Jesus always said that God was his father, not the holy Spirit. But if the Holy Spirit was a person, then Jesus would've said that the Holy Spirit was his Father, since Mary's conception was carried out by the Holy Spirit... The angel said to her. "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the Power of the most high will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35 Note. what Luke I:35 says. That the Holy Spirit, and the power of God, are one...The Holy Spirit is the power of God. {According to the doctrine of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit would be the Father of Jesus, instead of God.} If the Catholic church was guided by the Holy Spirit, it would understand what the Scriptures are saying, but the Catholic church doesn't understand the Holy Scriptures, it just makes things up according to pagan traditions.
I don't understand a bit, so am I possessed by demons or what? Or is it really the Holy Spirit dwelling in me? Those who works in the house of God said it is impossible it was the holy spirit because there is no way the holy spirit wants to dwelling inside of a filthy woman like me. Meh.. whatever
@@CIST3they didn't actually but they said it with their eyes and face expressions. Anyone with common sense can actually read that easily, and now I'm trying to block and erase them from messing into and playing games with my mind.

Because the presumption of salvation is a sin. You can fall and fall eternally after baptism and belief. Remember always - Satan and his demons believe; they are the first to recognise Christ. You must bear fruit in your faith and persevere throughout. Humility and charity are core features, too.
The Holy Spirit is feminine. The words “ruach ha-kodesh” (the Holy Spirit) are feminine grammatically in the earliest Hebrew texts and Arabic, in all modern copies, and in modern Hebrew. Additionally, Luke 35:33 "For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine; and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a glutton, and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ 35 Yet wisdom is justified by all HER children.” And, of course, the visible representation of the female was with the Doves at Jesus' baptism. So, of all the signs the cosmic spirit could present, it could show anything it wanted to provide; it presented the Doves. In fact, it was a blessing from the female (his mother) who started Jesus in his ministry. And please use the proper pronouns for God.
Gary, I don't know what your background is, but you're making a lot of nonsense arguments. Do not play around with the Holy Spirit and HIS personhood. Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit shall be called with male pronouns. John 14:26 ESV - 26 But the Helper, *the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, **_HE_** will teach you* all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. The use of a feminine word like reach ha-kodesh is not necessarily indicative of gender ESPECIALLY when it comes to the Divine Persons. Can doves be male? Why do you assume a dove is always female? And wisdom is often regarded as being Jesus, so can female pronouns be used to address Jesus? See also Col 2:2-3. 1 Corinthians 1:30 ESV - 30 And because of him you are in *Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God,* righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
@@alisterrebelo9013 I just love the way you immediately "Know" the truth and then insult me to boot. It's a sign that you use your faith to do rude things and get away with it. You can't-not with me. CCC 683 683 "No one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except by the Holy Spirit." "God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, 'Abba! Father!"' This knowledge of faith is possible only in the Holy Spirit: to be in touch with Christ, we must first have been touched by *the Holy Spirit. HE comes to meet us and kindles faith in us.* By virtue of our Baptism, the first sacrament of the faith, the Holy Spirit in the Church communicates to us, intimately and personally, the life that originates in the Father and is offered to us in the Son. 687 "No one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God."7 Now God's Spirit, who reveals God, makes known to us Christ, his Word, his living Utterance, but the Spirit does not speak of himself. The Spirit who "has spoken through the prophets" makes us hear the Father's Word, but we do not hear the Spirit himself. *We know him only in the movement by which HE reveals the Word to us* and disposes us to welcome him in faith. The Spirit of truth who "unveils" Christ to us "will not speak on his own."8 Such properly divine self-effacement explains why *"the world cannot receive [him], because it neither sees HIM nor knows HIM,"* while those who believe in Christ know *the Spirit because HE dwells with them.*
