@@sandraelder1101 believing that propaganda only keeps one in the trap set by the reigning two parties, both of which are profoundly out of alignment with the truth made clear by the Catholic Church regarding social issues. We should have the confidence to support a good option, trusting that it will make a difference. At the very least, the other parties will have to take notice. At best, we will have a truly pro life party competing to run the country.

@@optimalprecision It will more likely just help the worst of them get elected. It’s not propaganda. It’s math. “Don’t make the perfect the enemy of the good.” Help the not-as-bad person win. Then work to make the viable choices better. Remember, whichever person gets elected will also surround him/herself with likeminded people and appoint a host of judges. Would you rather Harris or Trump do that? Their decisions will affect us for generations.

If you are pro life, DT came out against Florida's 15 week ban. He came out against Arizona's pro-life laws. In the debate he said abortion was a choice. He favors access to the abortion pill. I don’t know that it can. It can be weakened, but it’s pretty much baked into our political and electoral system. The best thing Catholics can do is get involved with one of the major political parties and try to bring them in line with Church teaching. Run for precinct committeeman. It’s free usually, doesn’t take much time, and is arguably the most important job in politics

@@jmjaquinas7298 that's definitely not the best Catholics can do. There are so many ways Catholics can be involved politically to change things. One doesn't have to only be involved with the two major parties, that's hardly a creative solution. One way folks can be involved is to help change the electoral system. A few years ago I was involved with getting city council primary voting to be changed to Approval Voting. Small steps, but political parties is not the only way to get involved.

In non-swing states, voting for a 3rd party serves to preserve the integrity of one's conscience and gives support and attention to the best party on the scene by far. If we continue to shift towards this actually good option, before long it will genuinely compete. In swing states, one should still vote to preserve one's conscience and support this better option. The Republicans are no longer pro life and they oppose the teachings of The Catholic Church on many, many issues.

I've always said that a politician who claims to be a devout member of any faith, yet also claims that he/she doesn't let that faith influence his/her political decisions is lying about one of the two claims.

Rightly said! If you're a devout catholic, everything you do should be with a moral conscience to do the will of God, inorder to glorify him. Hence, if you're a politician and your faith doesn't influence your role as a politician, then you're not a devout Catholic

Peter Sonski didn't say he was "devout". "Devout" may mean different things to different people. He talked about his faith impacted his world view. To be honest, the basic world view of Catholic social teaching is in line with that of many faiths.

Honestly I am wary of politicians who claims to be "devout". Because it just sort of becomes virtue signaling. It does seem quite prideful. I much prefer humility. "Have mercy on me, a sinner". This is humility. And I think actions speak louder than words. Too many Americans listen for the labels and not enough really just look at the actions.

Catholic Social Teaching is consistent Christian morality. We must protect life from conception to death AND advance economic justice, environmental sustainability, and peace. There is no conflict between any of these goals. They all flow consistently from the belief in a rational God that loves creation.

Even if he isn’t, abortion will be on the ballot in Florida this year. Be sure to vote against enshrining it in the State Constitution. Tell your friends, even those who don’t plan on voting, to vote on on that measure.

I will be writing in Peter Sonski and Lauren Onac as my choice for President and VP in this year's election. We don't have to continue with the 2 party system because the Uniparty has failed us. ASP is a breath of fresh air.

34 years old. Been voting for Prez since '08 when I was 18. While I like many of my confereres admired Obama's rhetoric & personal story, I could not bring myself to cast the ballot for him due to his pro-choice stance. In '08 & '12, I voted independent. In 2016, Trump, the Pope of Greed, was the Republican nominee. I continued to vote independent. In 2020 I discovered the Solidarity Party, and finally, I was able to vote FOR someone, not against. Don't vote for the Pope of Greed. Vote Sonski.

If a man is walking with God at his side, not even 1000 Putin can defeat him. We should have faith, and God will provide what is needed (assessors, economists) There are many Catholic and Christian professional experts that hide from politics because they don’t want to be part of a rotten game. Biden, Trump, and Harris weren't/aren't experts either. Harris is not well traveled, which puts her at a huge disadvantage. Trump is not prudent in the kind of things he texts. He is unhinged, frankly. Presidents rely on experts. They have a cabinet. Their job is balance and to make very difficult decisions. If a decision is easy and obvious-it can be made at a lower level. It is when the decision is hard that it really has to be made at a higher level. It would be great to have a leader who actively works on developing virtue and wisdom.

I come from Latinoamérica (right now I am a US CITIZEN) and meanwhile I was living in my country I observed this kind of situations going on around… some Christians in disagreement with “SOME” of the policies of the best CANDIDATE with NO LEFTIST POLICIES… just form a new political party… gain some votes and with that… they contributed taking away some votes for the Centric Politician… and HELPING INDIRECTLY the LEFT CANDIDATE TO WIN… I SAW that over and over again… please don’t fall for that! You are delusional if you think this guy can win. Trump doesn’t have a Catholic agenda but he is our only hope to stop the chaos in our country. Can this guy stand up to Russia, islamic terrorists, China, and North Korea? In reality, what can a pro life president do? He cannot make an executive order to end abortion. Congress on the state and federal levels make laws. Vote Catholic across the board when possible and REASONABLE. This guy is not a reasonable contender. Allowing Harris to win by voting for this guy makes matters so much worse.

As wonderful as it would be to have him as president, do we really think a 3rd party candidate can win? And if the Democrats win, then it is so likely we will have federal protections for abortion. As he said in the video, there's more to politics than just winning. It's also about standing firm on what you believe in. Voting 3P is a vote for conscience, and in the majority of states, for better or worse, it won't sway the outcome. Trump will win my state, for example, no matter how I vote, so I might as well vote my conscience, which for me means Sonski/ASP. It's only in the swing states where people really need to weigh whether to go 3P or settle for contributing to a less-bad outcome for the country.

Abortion is going to remain a political volleyball if Democrats win this election. They will overstep and Republicans will call them on it. If Republicans win as a pro choice lite party, they might stay that way forever. Pro-lifers may have zero major pro-life parties to side with. I don’t think that’s better.

It’s not just about the Pres. The winner will appoint a cabinet of like minded people and judges who will make decisions affecting all of us for years to come. We’re not electing a pastor or choosing a spouse. They’re both imperfect, but that’s always the case. It’s not like they’re equally in favor of evil this time either. There are some pretty stark differences. “Don’t make the perfect the enemy of the good.” It’s good and wise to try to minimize evil by choosing the person who will do some good and less bad.

Work within the system of the two parties, create a coalition in one or both of them, and then take them over. Either way, if people vote for the Solidarity Party this cycle in a swing state, and allows Harris to win, don’t get upset when Roe gets codified into law. It’s important to vote our conscience, but part of that also includes being realistic, and willing to set a desire for idealogical purity from our candidates aside. Everything this gentleman is doing is admirable, and in an ideal world where American elections were not so tight in some states in wouldn’t matter, but when one party is leaning towards nationally legalizing abortion and federally funding, while the other one is just sort of lame, voting for a party like this is *mildly selfish*.

That logic only holds in one of the 6-8 truly swing states. In the 40+ solid blue or red states, voting conscience will help raise the stature of a third party and will have zero effect on the outcome.

His stance on economics and capital punishment is more likely to divide the democratic vote than to take votes from the Republicans. There must be a significant number of Dems - I'd say much more so than the right - disenfranchised with the direction their party has taken over the past two decades regarding matters of immigration, family, life and identity who nevertheless couldn't get behind the GOP. These are the voters more likely to turn to a more palatable option

This guy sounds great, and I’d love for him to be President, but the way our system is set up it will either be Trump or Harris. Trump is the much better choice, and his VP is a Catholic. The Solidarity Party is simply not viable at present. The best thing Catholics can do is get involved in their local Republican (or Democratic if you’re in a blue state) party and work to support Church teaching there. Catholics should vote Trump in November, for all his flaws

Neither Trump nor Vance is pro-life. Catholics should vote for the only candidate who is pro-life for the whole life. Third parties have historically been able to have a lot of influence over the major parties, and a vote for Sonski tells the Repubs that their move away from pro-life policies is unacceptable.

Certainly, if you live in a swing state, or a state close to being a swing state, you should vote for Trump. Vance has publicly supported keeping mifepristone legal, but I don’t know that he truly believes that (that, of course, raises other problems because Catholics must not lie). Two points - first, the ASP platform is neither fully Republican or fully Democratic. That being the case, Sonski is likely to pull votes from Harris as well as Trump. Second, 40+ states are either solid red or solid blue. A vote for Sonski in those states will not have any impact on the outcome but will have the potential to raise the profile of the ASP.

Out of pocket. They have the same problem garnering support as anybody not in the established two party system. They were around last election and before. All they do is try to get noticed but the concerted effort against anybody outside the system is real. @@Juliet04738 Well, the Church does not teach that the death penalty is an intrinsic evil, since even God commands it at times. The Church does teach that it isn't necessary in most cases though. When it comes to pro-life, I think it's possible to be pro-life and still believe that there can be justice for extremely horrendous crimes. That's a completely different subject than the killing of an innocent child.
