they recognize scents more than anything else! the reason they're so nonchalant is because he's been away for 2 months, and smells completely different to them. it's kinda like when you bring a cat back from the vet, the other cats treat the one that went to the vet like a stranger, because they smell completely different due to all the different animals and people at the vet
I was thinking the same thing I tapped on this video expecting the owner to be like “OHH HOW I MISSED ALL YOU MY BABIES” but nope it’s the most serious sounding asshole the cats can’t even be happy he’s back lol
cats : day 3008. the human slave has finally returned to MY ABODE. who does this peasant think he is? i dont remember at any given moment us giving him permision to stop feeding us! oh well, if he leaves again death shall be certain.....
My cat can hear me coming up the stairs when I come home & usually greets me at the door. I was recently gone for 3 weeks and she was stuck to me, literally on or next to me for days after. She’s purring next to my head as I type. She’s my best friend.
Im about to go on vacation for a week and I dont know what my little Siamese is going to do without me. She is always on my hip already. Part of me doesnt want to leave and part of me wants that return home love I will get
I remember when I first came home from my first year of university away. I saw my old cat Orion who’s been around my whole life and was then quite old. He sniffed me and moved on. I was a little insulted but by night time in my old bedroom he jumped right up into my bed and curled up right against my head and shoulder on my pillow. Sometimes they’re just too proud to admit they missed you.
When I was a boy, 50 years ago, I loved our cat dearly, and we all did. Now, every year we went on summer holiday for 3 weeks, and a neighbor took care of the cat. When we returned, we greeted our pet, but he went into the garden, and sat there for some three hours, with his back turned towards the house. Then he started melting, forgave us and everything was good again. Repeated every summer until he died.. 😘
I was away for 1 week and when I came back my cat was constantly meowing so loud and purring and rubbing her face all over me. She then started running all around the house wanting to play. She’s pretty affectionate.
I took the sniffing as, ‘where have you been and what have you been doing?’ Like a jealous person might smell their partner’s clothes after they come home late. ‘Whose cologne do I smell on your collar?’
Cats sense of smell is better than humans, so they depend on their sense of smell more than their sight to figure out who the person is. Its like an ID but you have to smell it.
@@Fedarrr Ikr! One of my cats loves to do several sniff bumps before she lets me pet her. Just like SimpleItalia commented the other two just hop in bed with me, happy to snuggle with their huge heater!
Last cat (black and white) : * actually missed him and greets him properly * First cat : sup dude Second cat (black) : I've never met this man in my life
Indeed... the black and white cat definitely loves him. He may not think that RU-vid would be impressed but MeTube was quite impressed with the black and white kitty! 😜😍
arcticridge Um... what? As id telling them he was leaving would cha ge anything. They cant understand him much less comprehend what leaving for 2 months is.
no name will because some are, did you know that if you die in your house and you didn't feed your cat in 4 to 7 days theres a probability that cat will eat you up? Different with dog because if you stop moving they will lick and bark at you and if you still won't move they will call for help.
Rain Yamamoto GIRL cats do try to help, they just realize sooner than dogs that you're dead. Cats can sense ahead of time when they're going to die, and can predict illness in people so they would get that you are dead. They only eat you because they are left without food and guess what else? DOGS DO IT TOO. After a dog realizes you're dead they will eat you too, so don't give that as a reason to claim that cats are mean and then act like dogs are angels.
Rain Yamamoto here : "Forty-five minutes later, the man’s mother and neighbors found him dead of a gunshot wound to the mouth, a Walther pistol under his hands and a farewell note on a table. Most of his face and neck were gone-and there were tooth marks around the edges of the wounds. A half-full bowl of dog food sat on the floor." "The German shepherd was calm and responded to police commands. On the way to an animal sanctuary, the dog vomited some of its owner’s tissue, including skin with still-recognizable beard hair." - National Geographic, just in case you wanted some proof.
+BRBhorror Then after the cats say "who...are..you." then out of no where an overlay opens up where they get to pick there race, adn edit there selves.
I've had many cats over the years. Reactions for long periods of absence differ with each cat and sometimes even will be different with the same cat on different occasions. Sometimes they will display total indifference and say "so what you're back? big deal." Sometimes they will show a little bit of interest and happiness and affection. And sometimes they get really truly excited. The last cat I had, absolutely loved me. She went crazy every single day when I walk through the door coming home from work. Then when she realized I was getting ready to go upstairs to the bedroom she would fly up ahead of me and lay on my bed and wait for me. I really miss her.
1:56 "You were the one who left us... I should kill you right here, but lucky for you my claws were clipped last night, and to be frank I'm running a little low on energy, so I'm gonna need some food. You remember where the bowl used to be right?
You can tell they are very happy to see him, but when he firat walks through the dorr you can tell that the cats going: is this real? No this cant be real who are you??? That cant be him. Two minute later...: OMG DADDYS HOME!!!!
Plot Twist: _The cats heard the keys and quickly waxed the floor, wiped the blood from the walls, buried the bodies of the previous sitters, cleared away the mess, and even had time to do your taxes before assuming their casual disguises_
The cats are like “ what? You expect me to come greet you when you’ve been away for ever! You didn’t write or call. I’ve been worried sick. Don’t you walk away from me”
empire My cat seems to have Separation Anxiety, a disorder that obviously makes someone afraid if not around others for a long period of time. So, when we go on family trips, our cat tends to get very, very lonely, and starts screaming for us. Kinda sad. When we finally get home and let her out, she likes to rub all of her fur on us and get us furry. Then she just goes back to the routine of basking in our attention.
lol ....the cats dont even love their owners .....look at the cat it hardly even reacted ......cat owners have insane cope mechanism.....my dog will brawl out his eyes if he didn't see me for more than 5 days
@@sreevishva3416Cats show emotion in different ways. Some will be all over you while others are more reserved but they can still be just as loving and there are people who appreciate the lack of clinginess.
They're mad at you for going away for so long, they lose interest when they can't trust you. My cat wouldn't come near me for days after I spent just 2 weeks away
I think it depends on if the cat has chosen you or if you chose the cat Cause a cat at my friends house (who im hoping to adopt) has chosen me and he tries to follow me everywhere, even if their dog is near who freaks him tf out, after weeks of me being away at a time
@@tavrosnitram1529 No that's not why -- not the same. Cats are just weird. In cat language, a cat might ignore you so that it can get attention from you ... girls are weird like that too sometimes. Strange mysteries ...
Tavros Nitram I know what you mean! My mom got this older cat who likes to cuddle, and I got a young cat who’s still a bit wild and independent. They ended up switching owners lol the old cat and I have more compatible lifestyles, now he’s my baby booboo
One of my cats would always try to ignore me when I came home from a trip, but she ruined it by looking over every few seconds just to confirm I was still there.
i hate stereotypes, this proves that the stereotypes with dogs and cats are terrible and should’ve never existed because they’re completely wrong! dogs aren’t superior, and vice versa, they’re both equal.
I went for a week they dont recognize my smell at first but when i put my hand near them they immediately sniff and meowing non stop, then proceeded to headbutt my hand and started slow blink
0:35 the calico: It's been 2 month, no petting, no scratching under the chin. Oh, because you've been out of town but no phone call, no text, no email ?? Why don't you go longer ? I'm mad at you.
Cats actually get upset if their owner leaves them for a while, they show the anger when they ignore the human for a bit. Then they warm up and get excited.
***** Yeah, cat's are brats, but I mean think about it, if your best friend goes AWOL for a while, you're worried...but super pissed once they get back haha
Cecelia Maggard Uh, do you take exception to cats being brats? Mine certainly can be (I don't know about yours), but I like that. Gives them more personality. And just because they can be brats doesn't mean they don't love me.
my cat went absolutely crazy when she saw me i was away for like a week and a half she literally was running and jumping and meowing non stop and that just made me tear up
Cats after two months of being away: "Oh, the human is back." Dogs after two minute trip to the mailbox: "OH SHIT!!! HUMAN!!!! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE NEVER COMING BACK!!!! I WAS SURE I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO FEND FOR MYSELF FOR ALL ETERNITY, LIKE SOME SAVAGE WOLF!!!!!! DON'T EVER LEAVE ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!"
I agree. The reaction of the cats is lame. Doggos after a day won't let you get passed the doorway, will keep on jumping on you and licking you. Especially if they're big, you just can't stand up
When I came back from a week long vacation, my little chihuahua boy was aggressively SHAKING and wagging his tail like he didn’t know how to react. Omg dogs are so affectionate, but some cats are too! My current kitty is such a lap cat, we sleep cuddled up to each other every night. I suspect he would have the same reaction if I was gone for a week.
I love the baby at the beginning the shady stare like “where the hell have YOU been?” The one at the end tho the black and white I think is the most attached and forgiving . :)
🤣🤣🤣🤣my kitty is attached to me but m about go out for some months as well.. my family is there to feed my cat but... what if i face the same welcome... noooo😑

@@chigibrahma8763 Just don't get your hopes up, that's just how cats are, always chill and excited for no reason at 3 am, they don't show their emotions like dogs.
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! PAAAAAIIIINNNN!!!!!! I broke my hand yesterday because of the hate comments I get all the time. I was so angry that I punched a hole in my computer. Please don't hate me, dear wa
My ex gf had a cat that stopped being lovely with her when she went to France. She was gone for like a month and when she came back, her cat acted like she didn't know her haha
@@TuTuxD6 that’s because cats usually rely on smell to know which is which, meaning that if you are away for a long time, your smell changes and the cat doesn’t know who tf you are
I'm an airline pilot. It usually takes my cat a few hours to really want to be near me after I come home after being gone for a few days. However, once he comes to me, he doesn't go away.
I left for 10 days, and when I came home my cat followed me around the house as I unpacked, meowed/yowled nonstop for an hour, aggressively cuddled me for about 6 hours, then had to sit on me for three days. After this video, I now suspect I have a cat-shaped dog. Edit: hooolly guacamole. Since 30+ people replied in the last two weeks (what has the RU-vid algorithm done?) Let me clarify. My cat has always been a cuddly lap cat, and that behavior from her was entirely expected after I went away for the first time. I was mostly leaning in on the unaffectionate cat stereotype to draw the difference between my cat and the video cats to make a joke.
I went to college for 3 months and came home for Thanksgiving, my cats didn't seem to care that I was back but they were definitely more affectionate than before for the week I was back
@@bryanwharton6692 that's definitely true, cats will really miss you the more you're a part of their every day life. My cat would go nuts if I was gone for more than a couple of days. When I took a weeks trip to New York, he started cuddling with me in bed during sleep (sleeping in my arms) something he had never done before.
I think for 10 days, they missed you. This guy was away for two months and they aren't really sure if it is really him and probably don't remember him super well. Cats live pretty much in the moment, so I don't think they have as strong memories as us. I think it took until they smelled him to know it was him, and they still weren't sure if he still loved them.
@@sipos0 Actually, they do. Mine even recognize by the sound of Keys and movement in the staircase who is coming there. Even after months, they will either await the person right behind the door if they like them, or vanish almost unfindable somewhere in the flat if it's someone they hate before the Person even enters.
Elzeta You can't own another living thing. They're not consumer goods. They're not property. They're not toys for your amusement, or tools for you to use as you please. We're not their owners, we're their carers.
Elzeta Pet isn't an insult. That's horrible. A pet is an animal of another species, in your family, that you care for. Species is irrelevant to family. Humans are animals, and no more special than any other creature.
@@Ranger1812 dude just lay off the honourable act, owners to an animal does not mean slaves and humans are not animals you dumb fuck do you see any of us walking on four legs? No. that's an insult to us *humans* and you too so think before you write.
Spacer Gazer There's no "honourable act". Maybe everything in your life has to affect you, but that isn't true for others. It's not about me. Fuck me. It's about other animals. They're not property. They're not objects. You can't own them. Get the fuck over yourself. How the flying fuck does not walking on 4 legs make us not animals? You're an idiot. I guess birds aren't animals, either. I guess other apes, like chimps, aren't animals, either. I guess all manner of sea creatures aren't animals, either. I guess spiders aren't animals, either. I guess snakes aren't animals, either. I guess slugs aren't animals, either. What a stupid fucking comment that was. The number of legs a species has is IRRELEVANT to it being an animal or not. Absolutely irrelevant. It makes no sense, whatsoever. How an animal moves, or its level of intelligence has no bearing on being an animal. Clearly some animals do walk on 2 legs, like some of what I mentioned. Even if they didn't, humans are animals, so animals would walk on 2 legs... Because we do. There's absolutely no insult, in the slightest, to being called an animal. WE ARE ANIMALS. Being an animal is awesome, because it's what lets humans be thing. Everything we do is, by definition, animalistic, because we are animals. Saying that's an insult isn't insulting to humans, that's like saying "you're a human!" is an insult. Humans are apes. Humans are primates. Humans are mammals. Humans are animals. Everything about humans is a possible trait of, and an actual trait of animals, as we are animals. What it is is an insult to other animals. You're not better than them. You're not more special than them. You're an egotisical, nasty, evil, fucking stupid cunt. Get over yourself. And before you rely with some dumbass shit like "we went to the moon!" No. You did fuck all towards that. You don't get to claim responsibility for what other people have done. Not that it matters, intelligence doesn't make one animal more special than another, just as no other trait makes one animal more special than another.
Same with me! My cat probably IS a dog! She LOVES going outside, she licks me all the time, is super loud like a dog (when she licks or goes down the stairs you hear it easily) she plays like a dog.
Mizushima Nozomu I've lived with cats and my parents have cats. That is more or less how they, as in the ones that I've met, all act[ed] e.g. They don't normally appear very excited when they see someone they haven't seen for a long time. If you are taking my joke about what goes on inside the head of a cat then that is a case of you having to lighten up and thinking before responding.
A slow blink usually means, "I love you". However, in this case, it's more like, "Yes, I remember you, but you left me here alone to die. Maybe try talking to the other ones first."
I remember being away for a long time and my cat was super excited when I came home just like a dog would. It’s a moment you’ll never forget, best feeling ever.
@@epithaph3203 Or maybe you don't understand cat psychology. Cats aren't nearly as social as dogs, they did not evolve to protect and be protected, cats live a solitary life instead. A cat can still get attached to a human, gain trust in them, but that won't make them actively seek to spend time with their owner. Of course, a cat might hop in your lap, or snuggle you, but compare it to a dog, and you'll see just how less cats care about socializing, even with other cats.
Your cats sure show distinct personalities in regards to your return home from your trip or whatever it was. They may seem indifferent but I’m sure they all missed you!
OH NOOOOOOOO!!! I have two girlfriends, but very few people on YT are happy for my relationship success. They disl*ke all of the videos I make with my 2 girlfriends. Please be kind, dear bry
