@@ladycuddlesmeow I like to think she was insulted. My cats knows their first and last names. They reply to both. If we say both first and last name together. They know they’re in trouble. So me saying her first name but her mother’s last name. Probably was really weird to her.
My cats have first, middle, and last names. We just use the first name though. It's complicated enough with Maggie, Miranda, and Mitzi. Trying to explain to Miranda that her middle name is Josephine because she's got Napoleon syndrome would be hilarious. However, Miranda will give me a dirty look if I call Mitzi because Miranda is my cat. Maggie is deaf so it's not an issue with her.
Same. If its close to feeding time they will come, knowing the calling is about food. Most of the time theyll at least look at me or meow back. My younger one sounds like hes so annoyed when he meows back. Like “what do you want?? Im busy looking at this floating piece of dust!”
When I call my cats name and his back is to me in the same room, he will wag his tail, and if I keep calling him he will turn his head looking at me like what the heck do you want 😂😂😂😂
One of my cats (Oliver) is a very sensitive and jealous cat so whenever we call one of our other cats, he comes instead, and it’s really sweet but can be annoying at times
@@7Lace77 indeed. Especially if you're calling from a kitchen or they know you have snacks around wherever you are. 😂 Sometimes I also think they're just bored and since you have time to call their buddy, you might as well entertain them too.
@@alirak9261 Terry is the worst. He always comes running n I say you're not Mittens, or you're not Alice, or you're not Sprinkles. N he just looks at me blankly as if I'm lying and he is the summoned cat. He also comes running everytime when we arrive home in Moth's car. Earlier we drove down the road past teh house, turned round and parked at the end and he still knew it was us and came charging. I don't know how he does it, either he will see the car, hear our specific car, or must come running out everytime a car goes past just incase. And it can be different times so he's not checking his watch. 😸 🤷🏻♂️
@@7Lace77 oh they can absolutely hear the specific car if they heard it enough times. And the blank look "you're not X" is sooooo familiar 🤣🤣🤣 it feels like a silent "yeah, and? Gimme what I want" 😂😂😂
There’s several in the area I live in. I haven’t been in one but one of my friends frequently goes to one because of the grouchy senior cat that’s there. She says he looks like Carl from Up
My cat Luna doesn’t know her name, just the sound I make when I say her name. I do a high-pitched “Luuuuuuuuuna,” so when I just say “Luna,” no response. In reverse, when I say her name phonetically without actually talking, she responds when I just go “Ooooooooh uh.”
They know the names of everyone in the household, and understand other things you say, including all your commands and requests. Of course, they only do something when they feel like it.
At one point, I had two cats, Titania and Jebu. They both knew their names. But when i called one of them, the other would come, too, but behind the one I'd called. I'm convinced that the one not called didn't want to miss out on anything...
cats are Gods creatures and i am cat rescuer for past more then 20 years.when i travel i take my cats to Shelter.when i was back after a month my blind cat was kept with about 100 hundred cats i could not see him in the crowd then i called him by name Bachuli he responded from up on frame of roof and came down fast.at home i was petting one cat in my lape but other cat was jealous and about to attack so i put her down and febby jumped on my lape.so that is that.Love from Tanzania
They sure do know their fellow siblings names lol. Anytime I call one of them specifically, the other rises in jealousy to block the attention the other is going to receive😂
I had a couple of cats that would usually respond to being called, really useful for when they got out. They learned it usually meant play time, cuddles, or most importantly treats. I would call them and click my tongue and they would respond audibly with a specific answer sound.
My cat always knew when I was talking to her instead of someone else in the room, even though I never used a different tone of voice. Even if she chose to ignore me, the tip of her tail would start moving back and forth. I once complained about the little crumbs on the floor around the outside of her food dish (it was dry food and I really didn't care, since it was easy to clean up. I was just picking at her). She jumped up from her nap and proceeded to eat just the crumbs, not the food in the dish! She knew exactly what I had said. It really blew my mind!! She was a real joy all the years I had her.
That’s true some people say you can’t talk to animals but animals can learn lots of words if you just say them a lot and do the action after you say them😂❤
I have one cat who is super jealous. When I call his name he usually doesn’t react but you better believe when he hears me call one of the other two’s names he perks right up to see what kind of attention they’re getting. 😂
My cats definitely react to their names, nicknames, and their companions' names. They also tend to react to my name as well or words like, "Mom" and any pet name my fiancé has given me which causes them to look directly at me like, "That's her name!" I've also seen them do the same thing when he's around and I say, "Where's Daddy?"
Lol the cafe cats reacting to their friends' names is like how my twin and I were when we were little. If one was getting called, it might be for food or something, so we both would end up responding to or coming when called by either name. (It did not help strangers tell us apart LOL)
All my four cats kow their names, their pet names which they love very much and know each others names.I have been with them for more than 10 years as their ages range from 10 to 16 years.I loooooove them very very much especially the oldest as she was the first. The other two are her babies from lst and last litter and I adopted the youngest. Life without a cat is not a real one ❤❤❤❤❤❤South Africa
My cat Tiger always comes when I call them for food, he always comes even when it's not his name I called 😂😂 And Shadow is just the child to ignore me, he only comes to lay on bed all day and when I take out the kibble he comes running to be first at the scene 😂
