You are processing trauma. You do what you d=need to do to feel better. Don't feel you have to rush. Remember, the fact that you are so affected by this is proof that you are sane and strong. Keep up the good work.

Was so cool to think that just a few weeks ago I was walking down that very strip, watching the fountains, Paris etc, all the way from New Zealand… so wish I got to see you when I was there. Very glad you had an amazing time at the concert!! We too had a hard time getting to an Uber, ended up having to go back to Cesar’s palace and catching it from there… we almost missed our flight back to LA lol. Hugs and kisses xx ❤

Steven, I know I've said this before, but as I mentioned, I suffer with PTSD from working in emergency services (police). Continue to seek help and support. Here in Australia I emptied a govt building years ago when I saw a briefcase behind a plant outside an office! (This was 8 yrs after retirement!) Triggers are real. Much love xxx

If your Airline has a CISM (Critical Incident Stress Mgmt) team, use them. EAP is also good. It helps to talk to someone who understands your job. I do it in my State for 1st Responders after a not so great day at work. Everything about you right now is the result of that traumatic event--completely normal. Love up your cats, cry it out if needed, find a Destruction Room and huck some dishes, let your emotions run thru. A piece of it will always be with you. Desparado in Primm is a way better coaster. Rough but good. Stratosphere is pretty awesome too. Sad the Mirage is in mothballs now. Wishing you a better work week. Breathe thru when the triggers hit--they will.

My husband works in law enforcement and whenever they experience a traumatic event, they have to take the next two days off and they have to speak to the department counselor (there are other steps they have to take, but it's not relevant to my question). Does your company implement something similar? I can't imagine experiencing something to that degree and then having to work again.
Sometimes eating helps soothe the soul. You gotta do what you need to do to take care of yourself. It makes me sad to hear you talk in a general way about what happened. I'm glad you are going to meetings and hopefully going to call your EAP.
