I was walking along a riverbank path when i nearly stepped on a snake. I had never seen a snake before except on TV. It wasn't just the shock of a living thing...there was something primal in my head that launched me into the air and sprinting down the path. Instinct...genetic memory...call it whatever you like. All i know is that it wasn't me (my conscious mind) that decided to act like these cats and take off like a rocket.
