Try not to laugh at Compilation Videos of funny cats reaction to the sound made by rubbing on combs. Some cats wouldn't really react on it but most cats will find the sound of it wanna make them gag. It's beleive this is because cats have very sensitive sense of hearing that this kind of sound irritate their hearings and thus make them wanna gag.

You couldn't be more accurate. I hate all the extra unnecessary noises. It doesn't add any extra context, meaning or even humor for matter of this video. To me I can't help it, but to see it as an annoyance and a distraction. It would make more sense to be included in a cartoon but that can still be easily overdone to the point of not being entertaining anymore.

@@chapmanmerchant apparently it has something to do with their feline audio something. They receive a lot more auditory stimuli than humans so certain sounds overload their senses and make them feel sick or in extreme cases, experience seizures.

If you check on google you will discover that this has been investigated scientifically and the cats reaction if from a physical distress to the high frequency produced that we can’t hear. The cats reaction that you find funny is from pain. It is cruel

That means her ears' frequency renspons are not wide enough, in other words she has some degree of hearing issue.

Extreme sensitivity to high frequency sounds AND the fact that comb hits a very unique frequency that is actually making the larynx (your cat's voice box) vibrate. Much like it does when cats pur. This strange sensation then causes cats to respond by gagging to the unexpected feeling

Cats are predators, and their prey (mice and rats) use ultrasonic sounds to communicate. Cats may have sensitivity to high-pitched sounds because outside, it helps them hunt. Indoors, living with humans, it may lead to lots of irritation, gagging, or even worse! You wonder what that worse could be could have killed them???

Only one of my three cats reacted to the sound of a comb, and it was to grab my hand and pull it closer to get me to comb him. Going to get a different comb and try again but I don’t know if I buy this as being a common thing.

This is called a Feline Audiogenic Reflex Seizure. I had a cat that would do this same gagging motion when I pulled packing tape off the roll. Cuz not every do this, doesn’t mean it’s fake. Or is cancer also fake because you don’t have it?
