Cattlianthe (Lc.) Rojo - The fire red Cattleya Orchid 

hehe thanks Alexis, well I just pronounced with an english accent, our languages are both latin so rojo is pretty similar to how we would call red too, but for the sake of having an english accent I pronounced it like that lol :P

Hello Danni! Indeed I should thank you for the inspiration and the knowledge you share with us on every occasion as without it probably only 20% of my orchids would have survived. Yes, there are many people on RU-vid - none has such a nice voice as you - and many books but everyone says something different and it's not really information from a day to day problems and solutions kind of approach which you have, and it's wonderful because there is this wonderful joy you give us by doing something you love. I am grateful especially about the knowledge on different genera, as I am totally rubbish and always first pick the orchid by it's appearance not by the actual flowering requirements. Thus I am wondering how my Cymbidium is going to bloom by the end of the year. Ah, and yes i purchased two orchids which are Cattleya type (i think) one is a Encyclia vitellina x Epi. michuacana and the second one is a Slc. Miyuki Little King x Epi. vitellinum from Rollke Orchids. I really wanted to buy from Schwerter but because of the very bad weather conditions they need to rely on DHL delivery which is a outstanding 25 Euro! And the plant I wanted was just 15 Euro! Which was a total waste of money for me! Ah, maybe next time. I would love some advice on the orchids from you, as I did the same mistake again and purchased a plant because its appearance! Which the first is orange (yes my favourite colour in orchids!) and the second is a cross between a deep purple and orange and it give as flower which looks like a Hawaiian Dusk! Stunning! Robert Gębczyński Hi Robert, thanks for the kind words, I'm really happy when I receive messages like yours, it means I'm doing something right :D btw orange and red are my fav colour on orchids as well ;) about schwerter, yes the transport is pretty costly but you always get them in a few days well shipped. I usually order with a friend and split the transport cost so that makes it worth it more :) I also save money for the order and when i order I get more plants, not just one :) but I save up all winter for the order hehe :P about the advice for your plants, you know it's not really a mistake to buy a sick orchid, if you want to experiment first hand how to save an orchid, she will teach you in a few months more than what others learn in years :) that's how I learned about them, I intentionally bought sick, discounted orchids.. not all survived, but many did and I learned how to better act with them and why the others died.. it can be upsetting if you lose a really great orchid, I did.. but I learned the peroxide trick for the snails as my orchid was eaten by snails.. now I don't have an issue and I can teach you guys about it ;) so let me know what troubles you have with your orchids, if you have trouble and we'll go from there :)

Hi Mircea, I simply pinch off one of the bottom leaves, let it sit in a glass of water until it produces roots and then pot it soil :)

JPowellCreative Yes for me they do, if the orchid has more psb then it might bloom a few times.

yes I feel the size is small but the red and shimmer off of the leaves gives it that similar appearance. How are things Danni ? I hope well since the holiday season is rapidly approaching lol we all are busy busy busy
