I still cry when she says “I would love to live with you in your castle.” Because Batman really loved her. She was the Best Cat Woman ever. No one could beat her. Ever.
@@ciciad2010 Zoe is decent as Cat Woman but nothing outstanding. Just like Ann Hathaway. Michelle Pfiefer, Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar, and Lee Merriweather did the best. Newmar and Merriweather had the sexual tension with Batman. Eartha Kitt had the feline looks and sound of a cat, as well as the sexy. Michelle Pfiefer was psychologically damaged anti-heroine nerd turned sex kitten thing going on. Kravitz and Hathaway didn't really bring anything special to the role, besides beauty but they weren't terrible. Though I thought they kind of rushed Zoe's Cat Woman into falling for Batman too quickly.
@@HappyRoach1 yeah I agree there was really no cat and mouse chase and teasing involved. Catwoman is supposed to be the woman that will beat the shit out of Batman steal his jewels but also be sexy and flirtatious with him.
And the funny thing is she wasn't Burton's first choice to play the role of Catwoman Nicole Kidman was. Yeah Michelle Pfeiffer was almost last on his list to play this iconic comic hero/villian. But we all thank God that Burton appreciated her audition and casted her for the role because she still the gold standard for it to this day. Every woman after her that attempts to play Selina Kyle is judge based on Michelle's portrayal of it.
Yes, except her suicide was shitty writing. Tim Burton and Daniel Walters should have made a different ending. I agree with her dying but I disagree with her commiting suicide. Suicide is nonsense! Plus, it sort of makes Max Shreck happy because he wanted her to die.
I cry every time Bruce says “Let’s just take him to the police, then we can go home. Together.” Bruce wants to be with Selina and Selina wants to be with Bruce because like Bruce said, they are the same.
@@Demaad She says why in the clip, she could never live with herself! She feels she has caused too much trouble for Bruce, so she feels she doesn't deserve that fairytale castle life.
@@dimensionzone8048 No, he wanted to. In an interview, he said ¨I was talking with the WB executives, and outlining my plans for Batman Continues. I was about midway through and they had kept asking ´Are you sure this isn't too much? Do you really want to do this?´ So eventually I said ´You don want me to make Batman 3 do you?´ And of course, they denied it but I was already basically out the door.¨ This is paraphrased but I remember seeing the interview in an editorial at one point (don´t remember where though).
@@smbsuperfan271 Yeah, WB practically forced him out the door, because they cared more about marketing than the artistic creativity behind these movies. It’s not just Tim Burton either, WB’s greed was also why Joel Schumacher couldn’t give us the full story he had planned for Batman in Batman Forever…
@Samir Adams Heh Heh, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 😈 Two lives left, I think I’ll save one for next Christmas. But in the meantime (grabs out stun gun) how ‘bout a kiss, Santa Claus? 😈
Max is going to jail for what? Yeah the audience and selina know things but no proof and aside from disliking him what does batman have on him? And why did he take the mask off? This finale hasn't aged well
@andrewdonnelly7201 Bruce knew Max was building a power plant to suck power from the city, as well as dumping toxic waste and shredding documents proving he owned land to do so (as the penguin mentioned at the beginning). Bruce took his mask off to show Selina that they are equals without the masks.
"Bruce, I would- I would love to live with you in your castle. Forever just like in a fairytale." That part got me, ever since I was a little girl. I've always wanted to live in a castle, just like out of a fairytale
this Catwoman is the best. Michelle P was perfect for this. and I love this character, Catwoman is an anti-hero. she doesnt always fight for goodness, she might pursue her own goas. in this, is her revenge for Max, the other were like being thief, making a mess, being playful. she also saved a woman but that is because of she was sick of Batman(or man) domination in the world. Batman tried to take her home, or to fight for goodness to stands side by side with the law. but she refused to be a hero like Batman, that makes he anti-hero.that makes Catwoman interesting. dont we sometimes feel so fed up with the government? the law? cuz we know that some rich or powerful people have the interference in the law or government (in this story, Max is a rich man trying to interfere in Gotham for his own goals). i keep loving this movie. Batman Returns is my all time favorite. MP is thebest Catwoman.this whole movie is a masterpiece.and the ending was just epic😇😍
Isn't she more like anti-vilain? She steals, does whatever she wants and ocasionally does some good. otherwise I agree, the best catwomen in cinema... :)
+Nothing yet after I wrote my opinion above , I found on RU-vid about the making of Batman Returns and a guy from the film production said that she is an anti-hero too 😂😂😂 well to my self. If I were somekind of comic hero, I would choose to be an anti hero too 😂😂😂 it looks fun. I dont follow rules too much. I never liked Superman, too boring. maybe the other example about anti hero is DeadPool😎
Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer are the best actors inside the superhero movie genre. So great they even play other characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Michelle P in playing Selina Kyle ( aka Catwoman ) she made the character ‘s personality & actions in this movie really good, Batman Returns 1992 was mostly the best movie for These DC heroes & villains making it into reality , it was Epic
@1:50 me trying to approach my cat gently but then gets attacked anyway. :-D Michelle's performance and Tim burton's interpretation of catwoman is the best.
I really will always appreciate and love Burton's turn on The Batman story. The unlikely casting of Michael Keaton, the emergent, absurdly sexy Michelle Pfeiffer (it's fun to watch Grease 2 afterwards!), the nauseous Danny Devito Penguin finally making that ridiculous rogue interesting, and Christopher Walken doing so much with a pretty thinly conceived tertiary villain. Then of course there's the otherworldly set design and Elfman's score which is such a terrific blend of Universal horror-era Waxman/Salter operatic eeriness and circus music. I will say, the Burton/Schumacher era Batman uniforms are maybe the least convincing. They look very boxy and rubbery. (Note that Bruce can easily tear off the mask with one hand). Adam West's design at least looked like a person could wear it.... and the show was supposed to look like a comic book). Nolan's were boxy as well. I DID like the Knightmare version from DoJ although you can still see that it's a THICK bit of rubber.
This Was My Favorite Movie 🍿🎥 as a really Young Child when I was 5 I had a 6 year old Girlfriend and We would pretend to be Catwoman and Batman from This Movie. lots of nostalgia
To those who don't know, Harvey Dent was supposed to be in this movie. Max Shreck was created as a replacement character. So with Max becoming burned up in the end here, it actually would've been half of Dent's face being burnt instead thus being his origin becoming Two-Face.
This was the moment where Batman realizes the kind of damage that vengeance and murder can do to a person’s psyche. He saw the same burning hatred he had in Selena and I think it scared him a lil bit, thus uttering the words “were the same”. Leading into Batman Forever, he became a broken man for life and it all started with Joker killing his parents and then killing Joker off, and then unintentionally killing Penguin and then watching his newest love interest Catwoman betray him and she kills off Shreck, leaving her to possibly pass away also. And I think seeing Penguin get dragged in the toxic water by his pet penguins was Batman’s breaking point. He knew “that vengeance became his whole life”. He was too far gone...this left him emotionally scarred leading into the events of Batman Forever. He lost a lot of things including himself in the first two movies. And to top it all off, his friend Harvey Dent becomes the psychopathic Two-Face. Man Tim Burton’s Batman has it rough in this universe!😢
Man.... the evolution from 89 to 92 is amazing, I just love returns suit, is so imposing almost bigger than life (i ve only got this vibes from begins From 89 batman was this dark gritty obscure persona, the suit was almost alive.... on return you get this evolved more tactical suit, more refined (and not least important, it makes him look taller)... It s so organic, to see how the flash suit evolved from this... The batflecks suits are similary related, and is a love letter to the comics (all of them and I love them). THe Bat Bale, well Begins suit is my second favorite, and The dark knight suit is the one that makes the most sense.... armored plated, smaller, more agile, is fantastic) The batman suit, is probably the most realistic one, And give me year one vibes, is an uncomplete, but tactical and credible suit.... And I jost love the Cowl and the chest piece....all makes a lot a sense (a shorter cape for instance will prevent batman from tripping).... migth not be the most espectacular, but is the most credible and I love its personality (just as his Batmobile)
Even though I like Burton's Batman, isn't this scene a bit hypocritical for this version of Batman? I mean isn't this the same Batman who killed the Joker in the first movie out of revenge? Hell he even killed the Penguin just before this scene, and earlier in the film burnt and blew up some henchmen for terrorizing the city. Keaton's Batman seems to have no problem at all with killing bad guys and even seems to enjoy it at times, and yet here he's lecturing Catwoman for trying to kill a bad guy out of revenge
Yeah catwomen kicks his ass when fighting in front of the ice princess before she leaves with her. She stabs him earlier and then here she claws his face. Plus he gets shot twice...wouldn't that have left him scarred? Should have kept the mask on bruce
Batman was in love with Catwoman that got him weak. Bruce was nervous around Selina. He wasn't kind of nervous when he was with Vicky in Batman (1989).
@@TheODLawson23 even when she defeats him in front of the ice princess he only blocks a kick and headbutts her once which does nothing to her...she kicks his leg and a high kick to the face...then pulls his ears and down and even waits a second and then kicks his face in and hits him with a chair and takes the princess away..
After the Dark Knight, i think Batman Returns is the best Batman movie in the entire history of Batman movies. And if it wasn't for Heath Ledger, i'd say that Batman Returns would be the best Batman movie ever.
The best and definitive Catwoman by the gorgeous Michelle Pfeiffer Joker - Jack Nicholson Batman - Michael Keaton Superman - Christopher Reeves/Henry Cavill Spider-Man - Tobey Maguire Ironman - Robert Downey Jr. Danny DeVito - Penguin
"Selina? Selina Kyle? You're fired. And you, Bruce Wayne, why are you dressing up like Batman?" "Because he is Batman, you moron!" Bruh, you recognize your ex employee immediately but not the famous billionare?
Catwoman puts Harley Quinn to shame. Far more psychotic & a way more interesting character. She reminds me of a female version of The Crow if it were done with cats.
I had a man attack and sexually assault me once, and long after it happened, I discovered this movie. I would watch this scene over, and over, so satisfied seeing Selena get revenge; I decided I want revenge, too. I found the man that hurt me; I came up from behind him, tased him, and beat him senseless with a baseball bat. I don't care how you might feel about it, but as for me, revenge is chicken soup for the soul.
As justified as you are in your pursuit of vengeance, but in actuality, you could've either been killed or the suspect could've pressed charges against you; leading to your arrest and imprisonment. But I'm glad you got some payback on the poor bastard.
Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer did a great job of making the quasi-romance between their two characters very bittersweet. This is, to me, a sad scene.
I remember my parents taking me to see this in the movies when this came out. When she was being shot over and over I started crying SO HARD my dad had to comfort me because I didn’t want her to die then I remember them showing me at the end how she was alive and I got so damn happy my dad took me and bought me the Catwoman action figure I had so much fun playing with her.
This film is not terrible by any means. It didn't get Oscars because it's a bunch of horny people on tight leather really nothing that special about any of the acting. Maybe devito deserved something but that's about all.
Selina really is the heart of this movie. The Penguin is what she could be at her worst, Batman what she could be at her best. But, at the end, it’s all about her.
I forgot how perfect Michelle Pfeiffer was playing Catwoman. Sometimes when casting superhero’s and villains they get it just right. Michelle’s movement, body, voice, face and delivery. Every single bit of it was for me, a huge Batman fan since childhood, Catwoman personified.
@@allengreene9954 cause soyboys and little girls gets uncomfortable ? Jeez warner bros. No wonder you get completely owned by Disney and marvel in 2019. Your are doomed and completely garbage.
this Catwoman scene shows us that a person who has been hurt and disappointed too much will lose the faith about kindness anymore. they will act the way they want, ignoring the law etc.they will bury and throw away about having an ideal life (as she said here: living with Batman in his castle etc) this is why this movie and of course this Catwoman is my all time favorite anti-hero.she is strong, determined, and also fragile🤩✔️
michelle by LIGHT YEARS, better...funny...scary...sexy...(ooh that voice), amazing performance, really shoulda won an oscar or something.rarely a performance like hers. she literally stole this movie.
In one version of the earlier script, Max’s character was originally Harvey Dent. The scene where Selina electrocutes him was how he would become Two-Face for Batman 3.
Billie Dahling not true at all, Billy Dee Williams was always Harvey Dent and was supposed to become Two Face in Batman Forever but with the recast it didnt happen. However, Billy Dee Williams had a contract for 3 movies and eventhough he was recast in Batman Forever he still got paid for it.

Harvey was a good guy. I don't see why Selina would have a vendetta on him.
That’s not true. Burton had already casted Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent and Williams signed a 3 contract deal (Batman, Returns and Forever), Burton also casted Marlon Wayans as Dick Grayson (Robin) but WB felt having Robin and Two Face in Returns on top of Catwoman and Penguin was too much and they were kinda right so Burton was gonna focus on them in Forever and I read he actually wanted Scarecrow instead of Riddler for Returns
Schrek: Don't! Kyle: You killed me! The Penguin killed me! Batman killed me that! Three lives down you got enough in there to finish me off?! Schrek: One way to find out! Kyle: Four. Five. Still alive! Six. Seven. All good girls go to heaven. Two lives left. I think I'll save it for next Christmas. But in the meantime... How about a kiss Santy Claus?
