It's at this point where it suddenly hits you: The Mimiga Village? Everyone in it is either dead or gone. You have no idea where your allies are. As far as you are aware, you are the only thing left here.
I'm not sure how it got rated E. Seeing everyone you've met disappeared, having to kill a friend, witnessing another friend die trying to protect them, yet another friend dying to let you move on.. Hell, you kill newborn baby dragons that have blood coming out of their eyes. "E for Everyone"

@@someonebody4594if you ignore him in the Labyrinth when he falls down, he teleports into Arthur's House later and gives you the Booster 2.0 instead of the Booster 0.8 you'd normally get
I wouldn't quite say so... "And then there were none" carries that sad feeling of knowing, "something used to be here, but now its gone..." "Quiet" carries a more spinechilling feeling that says, "something _else_ was here."
This theme sends chills down my spine every time, I can't describe how scared/depressed I felt the first time I heard this. This may be one of the haunting themes ever in gaming.
I literally got chills when I went through this part of the game [SPOILERS FOR ROUTE TO BAD/NORMAL ENDING] I literally felt "Was there anyone still... Alive!?" And I've hoped kazuma is still alive, since I don't know what could have happened. I went to the house and saw that he wants me to go to the egg corridor. I went there and when I saw that there was an explosion I litterally had fear of Kazuma being dead or something. I walked. Walked, until I saw the first enemy. I was RELIEVED that there was a living creature in there. It quickly turned to me having motivation to see if kazuma was alright. When I went into the room with the chest and dragon I was seriously scared since I forgot that that wasn't the egg chamber. I see the 2 dragons. I thought: "WHERE IS HE!?" my brain literally started making theories. He got eaten by the dragons, he escaped, he got kidnapped by the doctor etc, when I found him I was literally relieved. Flippin Kazuma, you scared the living daylights out of me.
Returning here to complete silence was fucking harrowing, what was once a peaceful base of operations with many friends now a victim of the Doctor's evil intentions.
This part scares me and makes me sad at the same time. I gotta say that this part is one of the bests of the game just because of the feelings it has and how much contrasts with the rest of the game.
The dread begins when you see booster fall in the labyrinth, but it gets even worse when you get here. This song SLAMS you with that feeling of something going terribly wrong, it gets even worse when you left curly and booster behind. I didn't think this would be a horror game!
This particular track was always chilling. As a child you feel scared at why the village is empty and everyone is gone, as an adult you feel oddity of this song being made with such instruments. Hearing this song always makes me think something is hiding around the corner. Something silent, something quiet, something desolate.

this is sort of like the predecessor to "But Nobody Came" isnt it? the two songs have very different atmospheres, but the core idea is the same you are alone.
I feel cave story represented what a horror game would be your alone in the dark maybe a monster will do a cheap jumpscare but no alone in a cave nothing to do nothing to see everybody is gone but you 4 people died or maybe 2..
Imagine you are in a cave in Roblox trying to look for the last tix, but suddenly, you found it. Then the creator of Roblox shows up and says: "Roblox more like rob your money! Am I right?" then you get jumpscared.
