Garland does not strike me as "needing to be the primary option". But he does seem to want to run the offense. Dude shares the ball about as well as anyone, and our offense does flow a little vetter with him at the helm versus Mitchell. The problem is that theyre both primary ball handling guards. Garland could pair exceptionally well with a number of 1st option wings or bigs.

I don’t think DG wants his “own show.” Going into game 4 of the Celtics series, he was 5th on the team in possessions…. Strus had more…. I think he just wants to be a main part of “the show” and the further into the year it went the more it was only Donovan’s show.

Not going to address the real issue? Mitchell is 6 ft 3 he needs to be the point guard, and the 2 small back court has never worked . Never will it work. Kirie and lucka people say. But lucka is a 6ft 7

If DM extends, then the next order of business would be locking up Evan Mobely. Those would be the two, most important players not he roster. Then, imo, the roster needs to be retooled. Both DM & DG and Allen & Mobley are redundant players. Move both DG & JA for players who will fit better with Mobley & Mitchell.

Didn't Garland and Mitchell have there best scoring seasons last year together?? Ur saying spida cant play make for himself what? They need a new coach. I think if we could trade Allen to the Pelicans for Jones and Trey Murphy or Dyson Daniels would be great for both teams. However im cool with Mitchell leaving i wish we kept Markkanan and ean it back. Regardless there was no drama until spida came same in utah but i think he wants to win more than these other guys just like Kobe so not blaming him he is trying to get them to dig out more from themselves

How can you talk yourself into the guards but not the bigs? You want to get smaller? Mobley can clearly develop offensively, Garland hasn’t shown the consistency to justify his pay as a one way player.

I think it has been obvious for some time, that Altman plays the game of acquiring high end upside, even if the roster doesn't fit. But then he goes on and on for years saying it's all part of the plan. I think it was never more than him taking what he could get to sell seats.

I swear all these Cavs analysts seem to forget the playoffs the second we lost the final game. Darius was not our second option Darius wasn't even our 3rd option! He was awful, and so obviously the moment was to big for him. And I will tell you didn't forget the playoffs, every GM in the NBA! and with the contract he has....we can't convince a team to take him. The only thing we can do with him is take another teams bloated contract with a player whose contract is way to big for the player they are.

I think JB is gone no matter what and for sure either DG or Mitchell. I would like Mobley and Allen to stay together but all the people reporting close to the team makes it seem like they will be moving on from one of them as well

Now begins the time of hating being a Cleveland sports fan. Every time there is a bump in the road we talk about trades, I don't know where this belief that the Cavs are going to make a trade and fix all their problems come from? In the history of Cleveland sports it has never worked out. The Cavs have a plan it is too draft and develop players. they draft, where they fail is in the development, that is due to scheme and usage. If we are truly a draft and develop organization then we need to start securing how we develop players. At some point everyone on the team has been under the "they need to go banner".... but each and every time they have shown something to point to why they are still here. JB has to go, not because he is a bad Coach, but because his philosophy does no longer intersects with what the Cavs philosophy should be. The Cavs are not a "TOP HEAVY" team.... they are not an 8 man rotation team..... they can't stack against the teams ahead of them that way. The Cavs need to play to their strengths and that is the fact that they go 10-11 guys deep. Next season, they have to work in Bates. Porter, other Mobley and The Sniper. I would not make any major trades, we get our 1st Rd pick back next year, there is no need to panic. I would switch out philosophies and gear my attention on developing the young core around Mobley with Mitchell as my closer. Don't trade off.... tweak and let another set of eyes see the potential and then if need be, do all the course correcting next year around the 1st rd pick
