Considering my 2022 CB500x after owning it for 9 months, things not really covered in other reviews.

I have a 2022 CB500X, the speedometer is right on, verified by the GPS. The 2022 has a brighter headlight than the 2021, but like you I added fog lights, either yellow or white to illuminate side of road more. Since I plan on being on the road more, I installed, T Rex Racing crash/engine guard, skid plate, and luggage rack. Outback Motortek pannier racks that a tool box for BMW will fit inside. Barkbuster handguards, mud flap I ordered from AliEx, Honda center stand, windscreen extension, Garmin Zumo XT mount w/3D printed cover, and USB power cord for the tire pump. For comfort, Alaskan Leather sheepskin cover for the seat. At 80 even with the extra 50 pounds I can still lift the bike if I drop it. On second set of tires, Michelin Anakee Adventure a little more off road than Dunlap's, but they are a bit more noisey. Great bike, nimble, easy to handle, dependable, but the sheepskin cover help on the longer rides for my bottom backside

I have the 2019 model and get 90mpg riding on country roads and dual carriageways. I’m pleased with that. A great all round bike in my view.

Greetings, As always another brilliant detailed video 🇺🇸🍾🎉🇺🇸. Would you share with us the process of building these mud guards. Thank you so much for assisting us, keep producing more videos.

Good work on the vid. I like how you made your own little modifications with the shock and rear guards. The seats are known as uncomfortable from what I’ve seen in other vids, it’s why you can buy aftermarket seats that are a large improvement.

They're also known as comfortable, it entirely depends on who you ask, just like all other aspects of comfort on any bike.

Hi I've got the 2021 version and just thought i'd mention that i'm quite tall and boney as well, (6' and 11 1/2 stone). However i did buy a padded seat which i used maybe twice but took it off mainly as I wasn't happy with the increased height. But I found that the stock seat began to feel more comfortable over time I've still only done 5000 miles on it But would definately say the seat feels better now and worth persevering with! Also a radiator guard i think is a good investment. As the front mud guard is bit short Nice review btw👍

as someone who spends 6-8 hours a week on a bicycle saddle.. motorbikes are a dream by comparison... even the bench-pews that everyone else hates feel pretty good in comparison.

I also added aux lights, mounted to the crash bars, but I wired the relay to the highbeam 12V source on the option plug so that they are controlled by the highbeam switch. What a difference, they turn night into day! Regarding "extras" (aka mods), I disagree that they are expensive as there are a ton of aftermarket products available. $200 heated gloves work brilliantly for me.

can you give me any details about the aux option plug connection , location , current rating of this output? . Did you wire direct or via relay?
@alozborne
@alozborne Год назад
@@Dickihandyman-ru4mm On my 2022 Honda CB500X, the option plug I used is tucked away under the upper fairing on the throttle side of the bike. I used a relay that's triggered by the high beam signal and ran a wire directly to the positive terminal of the battery for the 12V source. I used the negative lead of the option plug for the grounding.

The headlight issue is really a huge bummer. I'm undecided on my next bike and so far my "bracket" ended up between a 2022+ CB500x or Voge 650 DSX. I currently own a Voge 300 AC and the headlight is nice and bright, I do 80% of my riding at night because my work commute is at night and hearing that the headlight on the CB is so bad is just a deal breaker: sure I can fit extra lights, but... that's cost and added complexity I don't want to mess with. I also hate how it ruins the clean lines of the bike.

Why are your mpg figures out because of the high reading speedo? Speedo error is usually over - for legal-speed the tolerance is set (in the UK) at between 100% and 110%+6.25mph. However, odometer readings are supposed to be much more accurate for mileage logging, hence fuel calculation should be accurate?

You did not mention the front fender extender. You should also consider adding a cheap wee screen extension which will eradicate buffeting and stick on a set of Michelin road fives, will totally transform the bike.

Hi, thanks for the informative vid. I am expecting to take delivery of my new one at the end of this week, I already have a box full of accessories ready to bolt on. Can you recall the part numbers of the Barkbuster hand guard kit/s and the extra spacer etc that I believe is required for the ns guard to allow it to be mounted making allowances for the cables on that side. Many thanks.

Bought from sportsbikeshop - Barkbusters Two Point Mount Hardware Kit - Honda CB500X 2019+ and Barkbusters Storm Replacement Handguards (the Kit has all the bits so you don't need anything else). Happy riding

Used mine for 200 mile South to up North today and she was getting a sound thrashing. 89 mpg. Using it for work commute A roads, average over 11,015 miles of 92 mpg. And no she is not being used gently either. She rides well, but if I'm being honest, I don't really like her and she be going late summer.

Could you please explain why extras are particularly expensive for this bike, compared to other motorcycles?
@Dickihandyman-ru4mm
@Dickihandyman-ru4mm Год назад
I think you are paying mainly for the brand. As an example, Honda Genuine heated grips £340; top of the range, Oxford hot grips Pro £199, Oxford Heated Premium Hot Grips - Sports Just £60; so £140 more than the most expensive alternative I found which to my mind makes them expensive.

@@Dickihandyman-ru4mm Ok, then I misunderstood you there, thanks! If there is no lack of generic aftermarket parts, or any other reason who one would be forced to use Honda accesories, I would not consider this a problem. Most OEM parts are way too expensive, really. KTM, BMW and Yamaha are no different in this regard, I'd say.

I have and am very pleased with a 2023 Model. I had a list of accessories I wanted to fit to the bike so did a comparison between the Honda and A.N. Other Suppliers. The difference was staggering. Needless to say I ordered the bike as standard and am slowly adding accessories at some significant saving over Honda.

Great review and mods. All were definitely weak points. Great reliable bike otherwise.
