Pellequr spa in Beverly Hills, California, offers full-body scrubs and facials. One of its most popular treatments is the traditional Korean scrub, which includes a Vichy shower, a body scrub, a full scalp and body wash, and a massage. Guests have the option to add CBD salve to their massage, making the whole service $215 for 75 minutes. Owner Anna Margaryan experimented with CBD products when she had postpartum depression. She was inspired to open this spa when her friend and designer Kimora Lee Simmons took her to get her first Korean scrub. At her spa, Margaryan uses CBD as an anti-inflammatory, she and wants to inform her guests of the relaxing benefits of CBD. Celebrities including Hailey Bieber, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, and Jessica Alba have all visited the spa.
Insider’s Caroline Aghajanian visited Pellequr to try out the Korean scrub with a CBD massage to see if it’s worth all the hype.

We do this in Morocco since centuries , first massage the skin with Moroccan black soap then scrub with the Moroccan glove . Do it your self at home much much cheaper.

Honestly that’s not about being “trendy”, to me it is more about being well informed and try it. When celebrities are being asked their routines and they say they use it it is not their fault,after all they are sharing information to others. It sounds like it is becoming trendy just because more people get to know it but if it really works,this “trend” won’t be so unusual in 10 years. To me people are just informing themselves and trying to take good care of their bodies. To me when they said it basically was the new “in” thing they meant that more and more people are getting more informed in this new(to them because it is not their fault if they aren’t Asians) products and alternatives.

I'm Korean, and we used to do that every time we do a bath. My mom would come in to the bathroom to help me bath properly. I think the reason it is possible is because the Korean(and Japanese) bathrooms have a drain system even outside of the tub, which enables you to freely spray and pour water outside the tub. Now I live in Texas, so I can't perform the same bath ritual that I used to do in Korea, I try to massage a lot of myself during washing and when applying lotion :) love this video!!

If the lymphatic system wasn’t working the way it was supposed to work, you’d end up with lymphedema or lymphatic cancer (lymphoma). I love beauty videos, but humans have to stop acting as if we know more about circulation and toxins than our heart, lungs, liver, and lymph nodes. We should start being honest and recognize that these expensive treatments are expensive versions of showering, using lotion, and massaging our bodies. 😊

The entrance fee to a small local bathhouse with a simple dry sauna is $7~$10 depending on the location and season. These scrub massages cost $30~$50. Longer the massages higher the cost.

I’ve done both. The Turkish bathhouse I went to gave me a private steam room before scrub. The Korean bathhouse had me sit in a communal bath before scrub. I felt the steam room loosened more skin.

It's a Moroccan technique we call it Moroccan Hamam, mostly all Moroccan go to hamam 1 time /week, we exfoliate all our skin with different original products black soup. ...and when we finish going out we drink a mint tea🌿 and the price of hamam in Morocco is between 2$ till 20 $ 😇.

as being a turkish people this scrubbing thing is a tradition for us bc we have a place called Hamam. that place is parted to few rooms and the main room. you can wash and scrub(they give you a free scrub) yourself in private rooms with rlly hot water( everyone uses the hot water in there so there is a lot of steam you kinda feel like boiled chicken lol) or you can go to main room and get washed and scrubbed by the staff. people especially women used to go there often and socialize lol. i know its seems weird but when you get there once you understand the whole concept.

@@canaisyoung3601 I mean you can do it at home it's cheap to get the scrub towel (we call it kasa) just make sure your body is very warm (that the point of going to a hammam because it's hot) so you may have to take a long shower personally I start washing my hair and it takes me 10 to 15 min after that I start scrubbing. If you have never tried it I really recommend it you will feel much better and lighter and helps your skin as well 💕

In morocco we do this every weekend we go to a traditionnel place called Hamam and we exfoliate our skin with a black glove and wash our hair and remove body hair and do Hannah to our body just with 13 dh which is 1.5$ :)

This process comes from North Africa it is called the hamam .. we use the glove called kessa which removes all the dead cells ... The hamam originates from the Ottoman Empire when they were in North Africa (Algeria🇩🇿)

That washcloth exist in Algeria fron centuries and centuries there are two the green one witch's hard and the red one witch's less harder for the skin , the green for exfoliation and the red to remove oil and dirt on the skin. Btw in Algeria we call it Hamam (bath) and this is nothing comparing to it.

I can’t believe how expensive that is. In morocco it cost around 1$ or 2$ if you go to a traditional hammam (bathe house). If you prefer privacy and a little luxury you can go to a private hammam for around 20$ or 30$.

This technique has been used in Tunisia and north africa for almost 1000 years or more. And it's cheap, you can either do it in a public Hammam, or at home. We do it at least once a week, and the other days we can take a quick shower.

in indonesia we call it kosokan if it with some kind of stone or kereweng or scrubb mitt. or you can do it with lulur which is kind of mixture from cream and scrub, you can use it every day/shower. and will make your skin clean from all dead skin, relax and smell good cause we have many variant of lulur: yam beam, milk, papaya, coffee, herbs, rose and it's CHEAP. a jar of lulur will last you about a month and i'ts around 2-3$

Oh man we have been doing this for centuries here in Algeria 😂😂 You need first to use a sort of traditional soap made of olive oil and rose water called sabon d'zayr then let it for about ten minutes and then start the work 😧 Its that weekly hard shower that everyone hates taking but everyone loves the feeling after it ,,I just had one 😧😂

This is sooooo moroccan i am from morocco by the way in our country we go once a weak to scrub our body we use special soap before (reaaally helps to remove dead skin) and then use the exfoliating glove and dead skin will be removed easily and its sooooooo cheap almost 2 dollars so coool 😁😁

The whole process costs around 70 dhs , massage included,hair washing ,scrubbing and all in morocco ,aaaand its done once a week ,the glove itself costs 10 dhs and its reusable.
