one of the coolest cops I know, before he had his new born rode a sport bike on his off time and used to speed around and have fun. as a rider myself I hope one day he can get himself a bike again, because hell once we feel the ride we can never forget it.
Not to be a smart ass by any means but what do you think about the world 4 years later?? Only positive for me is i bought my first motorcycle and I'm loving it💯
If this cop gets fired because of this video of him racing with this rider, I'll do whatever the fuck it takes to get him reinstated. He's an officer who deserves to wear that badge. I'd drink with him any day.
Obviously the cop was wrong and I was going to ask if he noticed the cam, but this was the coolest shit ever. I'd rather see this type of police & civilian interaction than the other bullshit that's been going on. Glad he got his job back.
They werent even speeding... how is that considered as a dragrace then.... just because a the guy said wanna race? And the cope responded with an okey doesnt mean they wer driving 50 faster ....
Cool cop. His name is Carlos Rogers. He got into trouble over this incident and voluntarily resigned, but was was re- instated by the Police Chief. It's good to know he's working again. He was cool. Not all cops are mean and abusive of their authority. Good luck to you Carlos.
whiteribbonman1 If you Google search his name and incident, you can read the whole story. Basically, in a nutshell, he quit on his own because he felt bad and how it would make the department look. Cops are taught to always be professional and what he did was not acceptable in the eyes of the public or the police department. He allowed another motorcyclist to race and because of that he was saying it's okay for that behavior. The cop himself was in the wrong because HE was also racing and was not setting an example. I think the cop was cool and only showed he's human too. He showed that not all cops are mean and abusive of their authority. I wish him well.
+Mark Julius I researched the story. My viewpoint. . . . . .he was improving the image of law enforcement during his "living in the moment" moment, did not raise his front wheel off the ground nor break traction with his rear. . . . . .he alone decided for himself that he brought shame upon that Police Dept? I don't buy it. I see law enforcement speed every month by at least 15mph in 4-wheeled vehicles in non-emergency travels, and this "motorcop" presents a GOOD image to his public by professionally driving his bike in a brief show of adrenaline. . . . . . .and he resigns on his own? O-kay. The other participant kept getting called a pedestrian. Real accurate reporting. A shame the other motorcyclist HAD to put it on RU-vid. Bloody idiot. Thank You for the guidance. Cheers.
I probably wouldn't have aired this video myself, just to protect the coolest cop I've ever seen, but even if I did RU-vid has a function to blur faces that I would've used. I'd like to keep these kinds of cops on the road with me. life would just be more fun back and forth from point A to point B.
Gurinder g I've lived in both and both have their plus and minuses... You grt to keep more of your money in the US due to paying half the taxes Germans do so huge plus for US. Germany is a 2 hour train ride from several cool other countries...way cool but the US is so huge, we have amazing and different states so tie...lol Bottom line, there are dicks in both countries and super nice people as well...
A radios only good if your in the line of site, people get away from cops on fast bikes all the time there's lots of proof on RU-vid . Radios help catch people but they do not guarantee a bust .
RESPECT!...Great to see this cop got his job back. The world needs more cops like this guy and judges who see the value in this kind of officer. I wish him all the best for the future.
watching this video reminded me years ago racing a local cop.. I had a '69 dodge super bee { 383] & the cop had a ford with the 'police' 390.. he beat me by a few car lengths... this cop was a friend of mine & we we're street racers back H.S. but still, he took a huge risk of being caught!
Knilchreis Thats complete utter bullocks. I have seen blacks and cops get along. I'm sorry CNN told you that all cops are pedophiles who hate black people and toy drives, but thats simply not true.
Racing is not condoned but they were not doing anything dangerous, the speeds were not very high, and I think this video goes a long way to show the human side of police. I am not a huge fan of the police but this is one cop who should have a long and successful career on the force. The cops I used to work with when I was in the force were much much worse. DUI was common along with other crimes that I witnessed. If he indeed resigned I hope they will reconsider. There was a cop in Vancouver who murdered an immigrant at the airport on video and went on to kill a motorcyclist while driving drunk and he is still on the force. We need more cops like this officer.
I did something very similar in my early twenties, we were in cars however. I had a 91 Mustang GT convertible and he was in a supervisor police car. The officer was a friend of mine and we went racing through city streets. The reaction of everyone outside was priceless. Nicely done.
After an almost 20-year hiatus from motorcycling I went and did a refresher course at Honda Australia Rider Training. I found myself on a CBR600. It's an amazing little unit!
If you can have fun while upholding the law then you are in the right career field for the right reasons. This is a REAL police officer of the law, he is a man, a human. If it were me running into this officer, i would respect the SHIT out of his jurisdiction from that point on, just for the simple fact that he is a man. Give respect and get it. Accurately assessing a situation is one of the most valuable traits an officer can have. Enforce the law because of the reasoning behind the law, not simply because it is a law.
here in brazil we have a "spec ops" group of police called "RAIO"(or ROTAM in RIo or Sao Paulo) and they ride on Triumphs Tigers. I know one RAIO's guy and sometimes when I'm on the Tenere660 they ride with me like some miles. Who doesnt know that he is my friend can think that they following me. Its better, btw, to have this guys on our side. Sorry for bad language. Cheers from Brazil!
Back when many cops used 5.0 Mustangs as highway patrol cars one pulled up next to me at a stop light. It was early in the morning on a weekend and we were the only cars on the road. I was in a 1999 Z28 with heads/cam and the usual bolt ons. When the light turned green he went wide open so I did too. I caught him by about 40 mph and continued walking away from him up to about 70 mph and left off and then slowed back down to the 50 mph speed limit. The cop pulled up next to me and just smiled and shook his head up and down as a sign of respect. It was one of those extremely rare cool encounters with a cop.
The last time I was stopped, the cycle cop told me how to avoid speeding tickets in my area... Don't exceed 10mph over the limit. I did love having Harleys for lunch on my 1000Ltd though. This cop is a good sport and a true biker.
I had a cop in an unmarked Mustang (had the inside cop lights and he was in full uniform) line up next to my Camaro SS at a light. He rolled down his window and gave me a nod of his head up and down. The light went green and he nailed the gas. So I did the same and passed him at about 40 mph and got about 1-2 cars in front of him by 60 mph and let off the gas. He rolled up to my side and gave me the thumbs up. This was on a Sunday morning just outside of town on a perfect road with no other cars on the road. I think the cop just wanted to test his car to see how it would match up against a new Camaro SS.
Nah unfortunately. Exhibition of speed is what they call it and I'm pretty sure racing is a completely different ticket. You can't speed up too quickly or peel out or burnout or anything like that
Dame!!!! I envy this sport biker because he just experienced a time most sport bikers would never have. He met the coolest officer in the motorcycle police dept. We all know that he could've peeled off on that officer, but decided to enjoy that moment that he could cherish for a life time. Thanks for the video because now we bikers know that there are great officers that also ride bikes.
True story I met a cool cop on a Harley at a stop light, He yelled at me "Hey your pipes are to loud" I said what??? He said YOUR PIPES ARE TOO LOUD.. I said I can't hear you my pipes are loud, he laughed and said get out of here.. True story! Need more cops like that!
Brilliant.. the cop is ace. Yo both are ace.. it was all done safely.. no stupid speeds. Total respect to you both. I am from England...nothing like that would ever happen in my country.. I'm gonna watch that every morning before i go to work and I bet I have a mint day 👍👍👍👍👍👍
+frank villalobos Yeah, I agree. it was nothing to be making a big deal over, and firing that Cop. ?? Are you frickin kidding me ???? Cops desperately need good PR in the States right now, and then some Dumbo chief fires that guy. ???
