You could really see the progress just between 80 and 84. 80 still looked like film animation techniques, 84 was clearly computer animation.

These election graphics from CBS News came from a time when elections meant something to this great nation of ours, and were not the practical bloodbaths they are today!

Campaign 76 was the best one in terms of the crisp graphics. Campaign 80s retained the same musical score but the graphics we're not as bright and crisp.

One thing that this clearly indicates is that the United States of America is way too large. It may have been better if it had remained confined within the 13 original colonies. I probably would have been OK with Washington State (where I was born and raised and where previous generations of my family have lived since the dawn of the 20th century) being successfully claimed by our neighbors of the Great White North -and we had become an extension of British Columbia. 😆
