ICanHazGaming12345 If people know they're being watched, they'll effectively police themselves. But what this'll only do is suppress the potential for crimes to happen, otherwise you get caught and arrested.
they are probably just the poster childs for the media, the actual undercovers are hidden. God i fucking hope so, because showing these faces is stupid as lol.
I grew up in nyc and got caught hopping the train entrance since it was very usual for New Yorkers to do it but my dumbass saw no uniforms around and went along with my stupidity nit knowing one of these undercover officers was right behind me. Funny thing the cop that stopped me looked exactly like the lady cop in the video. I knew it was stupid and i was completely honest as she asked why i did it. I told her i left my debit card and had no metrocard on me and i was running late for work and I didn’t have time to go all the way back home and come back. She just padded me down searched my bag and ran me up for any warrants since i was clean she just let me go with a warning and a huge smile. Gotta admit nicest cop ever but Lesson learned 🤦🏻♂️
You can do it now and no one will stop you. Certain ethnic are totally allowed, and can walk out of stores without paying so long as it’s under 900 bucks. 👍👍👍
6 anti crime officers in one damn car usually between the motornan and the conductor while the rest of us are getting robbed in the last 4 cars......🤔🤔smdh
DanielFilms , because in reality the NYPD have little or no Officers riding the Subways. It was just for show. Most Officers are placed around Midtown. Example look at the Violent Crimes inside Central Park, Why? There is a Police Pct in Central Park, meanwhile you rarely see a Cop on Central Park.
Encouraging awareness while helping people feel protected. It having had the opposite effect seems like an unreasonable reaction. Also not having noticed them before means that they're less provocative than other units who have had to work on their reputations. In NYC we're pretty lucky, though you can occasionally find problematic individuals in uniform with extra bling, or the odd little gang with badges, once again theis are guys who should make you feel safer, in public, and from other police.
Prevention. These cops aren't in every single train car so exposing them to the public will at least have criminals second guess attempting to commit any crime in the stations.
Jackson man she was trying to be respectful and stay out of the shot while she waited for the next train, that’s why she looped back behind the cameraman you bigot
This is actually a really cool job if you think about it. You remain hidden among the public like a spy. But if there is some jerk on the subway, you have the power and authority to be a hero and stop them.
For all the undercover ppl comments....they said they are plain clothes officers not under cover officers....thats y they showed their face. Your welcome!
the stupidest report I’ve seen is one where they showed how to break into cars or homes using a simple screw driver. Yes, let’s just educate everyone on ways to commit crimes, lol.
Its not about catching people committing crime its hoping to prevent it. Getting out the word so people think maybe that hobo beating his Dick in the corner grunting is a cop, ooo spooky
Spotted 4 of the six. Seemed obvious. Would've never noticed the woman cop though. The tall black guy with headphones and the construction guy were easy
***** Not that hard to remember their faces all i have to do or any one for that matter is to touch up on this video to look at their faces and then people can remember their faces. Faces doesn't change unless u get surgery and i doubt those people in the video would get face surgery.
You do realize these are just police officers without uniforms and they often rotate them among thousands of uniformed police officers they have access to. This is why showing their faces isn't a big concern.
***** no no i know i was just saying thanks for showing there face so people can know what they look like. Some times they would blur the face to keep there identity thats all.
People really need to think ahead instead of randomly "thumbs up" a comment. The NYPD allowed CBS to get this "exclusive" so they could play mind games with criminals. Half the battle is a show of force, the other half are the mind games both sides will play. Criminals will be vigilant and behave when they see marked police cars and officers. The NYPD understands they can't have an officer on every corner, on every train, or at every place. They can, however, create the illusion that some plained clothed person could be a police officer. So now criminals will have to account for what they can't see, they will have to calculate the risk. It won't stop crime entirely, but it will begin to deter crime, especially as they see action being taken against those on the subway.
Actually this logic is incorrect in reality. Criminals are not these calculated beings that you’re describing. They just act. They don’t give a shit about plain clothes officers. You forget that a lot of criminals commit crime just to make means for survival. Jail is vacation to real criminals. This illusion is bullshit. We need more manpower, effective tactics and dedication. And in NYC there’s none of the three. The cops here are literally gang members in uniform. They have no method of operation.
All undercover cop by law is required to wear a vest .. u can jus tell on their chest that they have something underneath... only fake criminals get caught .. real criminals knows what time it is...
Lol I remember as a kid in the early 2000's after 9/11 riding the nyc transit my friends and I would play guess the undercover on the subway all the time lol even talked to a few who knew they were spotted lmao good times
Undercover are so easy to spot. For one the clean construction vest, the constant looking around, even the way they talk. Some cop came to me at a music festival with clothes that didn’t look like everyone else’s and he asked “do you know where Molly is?, have you seen her?” Like bro you’re so obvious. No one says that. 😂
Gary D. Ford They are criminals. Their " best behavior " is not getting caught ! They don't think, act, nor live as you do. Society would be very different if we eliminated criminals. Many in the law enforcement / legal profession would then be unnecessary. That's why it's merely a pipe dream...
If you see someone getting robbed help them or atleast be loud vocally. The only way this can truly be stopped if the community looks out for one another.
This how you spot a DT on the subway. They are always looking around checking ppl out. They can't help it. Most ppl on the subway don't look around on the train. They either sleeping, looking down, reading something, or just minding their own business.
Thats actually good to have you know if your not doing nothing wrong nothing will happen to you & if a few screwballs are out to get you by making things up & trying to get other people involved will eventually get caught as well.
Every precinct in New York has an anti crime team. And every time they make an arrest everyone nearby whips out their camera. They're not undercover, just not wearing uniforms. Which means they're not noticeable. It's unlikely any particular felon is going to remember the face of anyone they see in this video. You could probably sit next to one tomorrow and not recognize them.
They did that to give an example but for shore the will be change and every is going to remeber this video on less they come bacl it every time they enter the train
Diversity quotas and affirmative action. It should be based on merit, qualifications and capability alone. Since everybody is equal in the 21st Century, we don’t need that bullshit in the first sentence anymore...
Hey if you can pass the background tests, the academy, and are willing to put your life on the line everyday for people you don't know, why the hell not. I know I don't care what gender, race or sexual orientation they are when I need help.
They need to be on the last cart of the 2/5 train everyday I take that train there's like 10 to 12 ppl smoking k2 on the train and its everyday I even see the same person smoking. Every time I'm on the train its crazy they new to be by Dunhill 2n5 train asap smh
Emilio Vargas Werd, FOR REAL. ESPECIALLY on weekend nights. I used to live on the 2 line at the last stop in the Bronx, in Wakefield. It was such a disaster every single night, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. There never failed to have hooliganism run rampant on that line. Especially the end cars.
thats the point, they would rather want people to know that cops are on the trains to prevent crimes from happening rather than catching them in the act
Essentially it’s when a group of government officials act like pedestrians and follow people around, normally the people sound crazy but this proves it’s real. It’s scary to think a block could be like Truman show and it’s all staged and you turn a corner they all stop and look at your back
