Holy moly Dude That's my favourite Bus type for Tri Axel to Drive It's got a Nice wooden layer on the Dashboard and is Very comfy to Drive these Scania K280UB Beauty and the Interior look Modern and Nice as well Since I jump on M/O 9797 that's got a good ZF Ecomat Keep it up.
The only 14.5m I’ve been on is the trb but I would love giving this one a try it looks so comfortable and I’ve never been on a yellow bus so that would be a plus very nice wooden layer on the dashboard
The most comfortable buses that CDCNSW Region 4 has by a long shot. The thing I find most intriguing about these vehicles is how the third axle at the rear is completely hidden from view, unlike in the Volgren tri-axles in which legroom is significantly impacted by the lower floor. Perhaps the only issue is the large steps to the rear. The wood grain dash on these K280UBs seems quite unique and I don't know of any other Scanias which have it. Is it more ergonomic than the dash designs on the K310UBs and the Volgren K280UBs? Because I have heard some drivers state that they quite like the dashboard of these vehicles.
Visually it's a nice touch, feels a little more premium, although personally I'm not looking at it 95% of the time so it doesn't matter that much to me. As for ergonomics, the biggest difference for me is that the park brake handle is easier to disengage compared to the Volgren K's, as it's leaned more towards the driver. The buttons that we use the most in driving (which I consider to be the hazards and the kneel button) are in pretty similar places on the Volgren dash as well, so I don't think there's a huge improvement. Both versions still have an annoying problem with the mirror adjustment switch placement being on the actual dash itself, so no points won on either side there. Fun fact you didn't ask for: The Scania 14.5's (including the L94's) all have their headlights hardwired on while driving, the switch only affects the rear and clearance lights. Only on the later Volgren K280UBs (m/o 98xx) you can actually turn the headlights off while driving.
CDC likes Volgren more than Custom Coaches so that’s there wasn’t a lot of order for Custom Coaches back then when they started to bought Volgren and after that they like to order Volgren a lot.
@@atypicalbusdriverthe handbrake placement on the Volgren is flat but the Custom Coaches is elevated. Also the all the newer Bustech Mark 4 is elevated than the older ones like from Mark 1-3 and the earlier Mark 4.
