Just got off Margaritaville at Sea Islander. It was fantastic and we have cruised 30 years. Will definitely go again. Met fellow subscriber at muster drill. Great feeling. ❤
Hello Doug 👋 why are there so many cancellations on cruises. 🚢 Sounding more like the airlines. Thinking they are all getting greedy, building too fast and overbooking. The safety department needs to dig deeper before letting these ships 🛳️ on the water. Cruising has become such a chore and not as much fun. Thanks Doug, have a great day.
This is why I do not get in public pools and hot tubs. I love to cruise but I avoid these amentities. They just gross. I will happily relax on the sun decks but no way am I immersing myself in germs.
A friend was diagnosed with an amoeba in her eye from hot tub use. She went blind in that eye and was diagnosed at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.😞
Good morning Doug! 36 hour notice? Passengers are already in the air or on the road traveling for the cruise. How disappointing for them. Thanks for the updates and have a great day.
Good morning, Doug and Happy Monday! Well, I guess I dodged Legionnaires disease from sitting in the hot tub on my balcony aboard MSC Seashore last December! 😂 Real bummer for the passengers for the cancelled cruise! Hopefully the "Back to the Future" musical aboard will bring back the lower prices for cruises on Star of the Seas bookings! 🤣
Not shocking at all. Last year, when we were on the Paradise out of Tampa, we watched as the main pool went from clear blue water to piss yellow/green. It was the nastiest thing I have ever seen and people we just wallowing in it. It looked like a toilet that hadn't been flushed in a few days, there was absolutely no mistaking the color by day 3, let alone by the last day. It was beyond gross and nothing was ever done about it by Carnival staff. Yuck!
All hot tubs and pools are downright nasty on ships. My last RC someone pooped in pool and staff did ZERO to get it out nor closed the pool for cleaning. That tells me all I need to know about cleaning procedures...
Check out the cleanliness of the hot tub and ask when it was treated last. Also, you should rinse off after use and go back your cabin to properly shower immediately after. People who smoke, have lung issues and autoimmune disease are at a much righer risk as legionella is common in hot water features. I bring a small bottle of hibiclens with me to disinfect my skin periodically during a cruise especially after the gym. I use it to wash my hands while flying too.
For some with lower cost inside cabins (like I sail with) 25% may not even cover the travel cost to/from the ship. I am disappointed with the Princess response.
How was it an accidental journey, Doug? He enters the date into the dashboard computer and hits 88mph to activate the flux capacitor to vanish as the Lybians are showing up at the mall to apprehend Doc.
Just too many of these last minute cancellations. Sure puts those who have paid for airline tickets and hotels at an extreme costly disadvantage. Maybe, we all should think twice before booking a cruise.
Legionnaire's is no joke. Now that the source of the illness is known, it should be an easy fix. Advise the guest that the tub will need a deep clean before they can use for their own safety. It "Shouldn't be a problem"- but we all know that there will be someone out there screaming that they are "Platinum/Diamond/Titanium" and "shouldn't be treated that way" even if the crew is just trying to save their life
Good morning Doug. I saw a 1-minute clip/commercial this morning on RU-vid from MSC that said their MSC Poesia will be sailing in Alaska starting summer of 2026. I would love to know more about that.
