Great Videos Thank's a lot :) For the pro link to work is there a need for a computer or that you can do beat sync with the pro link connection without a computer?

Man the stigma around sync is wild. Although I agree it really shouldn't be relied on when mixing and always recommend learning to beat match with ear. But it genuinely is a really good tool for smooth bpm changes and transitions, it's there for a reason and there's no shame in utilising it

It baffles me too. Do the people who hate sync also insist on driving a car without power steering, automatic transmission or ABS brakes?

Don’t understand the criticism of sync. When the players tell you the bpm then it only takes two seconds to move the pitch slider into the correct position to match the bpm. That’s no different to using sync! Of course it’s a skill and great fun and to match the bpm by ear, like we had to with vinyl, but if there was a button on the SL1200 that put the pitch slider in the correct position every time we would have all used it!

Everyone should beat match by ear and learn it. Sync has its place but not to use the whole night

only one player needs to be master that's the whole point the system must know from which player to copy the bpm

it's an eternal debate! but I agree. A real dj knows how to mix without this touch sync. It's too easy to mix with. I never activate it on my kontrol s2 from NI and I mix as if I still had my turntables. Old. It's annoying because those who use it perform well when without it they suck.

If you’re a pro, there’s no reason not to use sync. If you want to have fun and show off, ditch the CDJ and laptop and use vinyl. You can do both if you’re not insecure.

@@aestheticstorm I'm with you there. The fact is, the sync button makes it very easy to quickly get the tempos matched up. From there, I turn it off so if anything, it's simply a functional button just like anything else. After playing vinyl for many, many years if there is a sync button to make the job easier so you can then carry on and have fun with effects etc. then any DJ with will use it. If someone uses sync and leaves it on constantly so has no idea how to manually mix that is a different story, however even then the crowd couldn't care less, they just want to be entertained!

I have mixes where I’m changing the tempo of two songs at once so I need to use sync for those. If you have the tools you might as well use them, DJing isn’t just about how well you can beatmatch

@@stephenmusic69420 that’s what why we do something call pitch ridding or knowing reading waves. That’s the best way to learn how to dj.
