Today's CDP is all about showcasing the new Fire King support in all their glory in the upcoming Structure Deck R, this time alongside the Kozmo theme. These two archetypes are a classic pairing, mainly due to the fact that Fire King Island can destroy any monster in hand to tutor a new Fire King monster. If you happen to destroy one of the Machine Kozmo ships, you'll also trigger their effect to Special Summon a new Kozmo monster from the Deck, giving you more bang for your buck each turn. This is even more consistent with the new support, as Sanctuary of the Fire Kings is a new Continuous Spell that places a Fire King Island into your Field Zone. Additionally, Sanctuary can eliminate the downside of leaving Island on your board, as it can destroy a FIRE monster in the hand or face-up field instead of letting a card in your Field Zone be destroyed by card effect. Moving away from the Spells for a moment, let me touch on the powerful new Fire King monsters making their debut. First up is Sacred Fire King Garunix, a Level 8 FIRE Winged Beast that can Special Summon itself from the hand or GY when a FIRE monster is destroyed. When summoned, this monster can destroy any FIRE Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast in your deck, giving you access to Fire King High Avatar Garunix, even without drawing it! The other key new monster is Fire King High Avatar Kirin, a Level 8 FIRE Beast that can destroy another FIRE in your hand or face-up field to Special Summon itself, and when it is destroyed, it Special Summons a Fire King monster from your hand or GY before destroying a card on the field. The last super key new card in today's strategy is their brand-new Trap Card, Solidarity Strike of the Fire Kings. This Trap Card Special Summons 3 FIRE monsters (1 Beast, 1 Beast-Warrior, and 1 Winged Beast), one each from the hand, deck, and GY. While their effects are negated, they'll be destroyed during the End Phase, so odds are that you'll get three FIre King effects all for the non-existant cost of activating this Trap!
Now all that firepower should surely be enough to sell this strategy, but I'm going to take a few moments to cover the Kozmo side of this build as well. You see, the Kozmo theme is great at stalling for time, as most of the Machine 'Ships' can float into a lower leveled Kozmo monster when destroyed. If they stop your Kozmo Dark Destroyer, there's a Kozmo Forerunner rushing to replace it. Destroy that and you can bring out Kozmo DOG Fighter, etc. Combine that with Kozmo Strawman, which Special Summons a banished Kozmo monster, and watch the tables turn as you use the Fire King theme to apply pressure to the opponent's board, while the Kozmo keep you in the game long enough to hit them with another wave of Fire King Sacred Immolation, or in other words, even more destruction. Speaking of that, there's one big piece of the new Fire King support I haven't hit on yet - their new Rank 8 Xyz monster, Fire King Deity Garunix Eternity. This Rank 8 can be made with any 2 Level 8 monsters (or two Level 8 Fire Kings during the opponent's turn via Sanctuary's final effect), and when summoned, it destroys all other monsters on the field. Additionally, when it is destroyed, you get to Special Summon Fire King monsters from your GY up to the number of Xyz materials it had! Destroy the Galaxy with the combination of Kozmo and Fire King cards.
