Amazing tutorial Chris, clear Instructions . I have now the courage for cutting, drilling and setup my RA / CDR2 130 carbon roller project. Thanks A questions regarding the silicone paste, is this normal sealing silicone or a kind of a grease silicone ? Thanks 👍👍👍

Glad the video is helpful. The Silicone grease / paste is the same as the O ring grease for camera housings. This is not the glue one that sets that you use in the bathroom and boat.

Great tutorial. Is it safe to install a double roller on a 120 aluminum rob Allen barrel?

Hey Adam, yes absolutly the RA ali barrels are very strong. And the roller shares the load on both sides of the barrels so there is actually less pressure on one side than a conventional gun.

Have you got any advice for setting up a double roller? I’m putting together a 120 double with 8mm spear and can’t find hardly anything on the net on how much of what size rubber to start with

The barrel is a 26.5mm Rob Allen spec.

Hi Chris. My mate and I have just received your cdr muzzles in the mail. They look good. Thank you. We have Rob Allen sparid barrels and the roller head is quite loose in the barrel. What do suggest to firm it up? Glue or silicone? Thanks.

Hi Louey, The best is to shim the spigot with a thin sheet of plastic. just cut to fit until the muzzle is snug and has no movement. Drop me a mail if you are still having issues 🤙

Couldnt get silicon paste, will low viscosity silicone -based lubricant work?

For insulating the screws you really need something that is going to form a barrier and also not wash / drip away. You can use O-ring grease that the underwater cameras use. Most the time this is just silicon anyway.

In my experience it either goes in or it doesn't. Good tip is putting the muzzle in thre freezer so it shrinks with the cold then it will go in easy.

Hey Chris, does your cuttlefish barrel track easier than the normal RA barrel with a double roller muzzle? Or is it just for better buoyancy?

Fish Hunter, The barrel has been designed to be as sleek and maneuverable as possible with the volume / buoyancy needed. It is no thicker than a std RA barrel height wise. And the bands also sit with in the same profile so they dont add to the drag like other cuttle fish barrels.

If i upgrade to double roller muzzle and do a trip and big fish dont show up but lets say some mahi do…. Could i just leave one band on or are both needed at all times? If both needed, is it possible to just load the one band?

Hey Eryck, Yes you can load just one band, or just use one 16mm band. One 14mm band won't have a lot of power. And what happens when a Wahoo swims past? You will want both 🤙

Will this roller head work with 16mm bands ? I can only find info for 14mm bands

Hey NERD SPEARFISHING you can use 2 x 16mm bands. But then you need a 8mm shaft and for that you need to have a cuttlefish barrel to float the heavier shaft.
