I’d say the problem is that Cedar Point is treated like a perfect park. Whenever someone says something negative about it, everyone acts like they’ve committed enthusiast blasphemy. The park is great, however the shit you have to deal with sometimes is so annoying. Let’s not pretend like this park is perfect anymore. Here are a few bad things: hardly any shade, big crowds almost everyday, bad fast lane system, closures due to volatile weather on Lake Erie, and the city of Sandusky. Do I need to say more?
no park is perfect obviously but i think the point is that cedar point is the closest thing to a perfect park. i can’t think of flaws outside of those, and i don’t think the shade is really a problem, cedar point is basically carrying sandusky so it doesn’t matter that sandusky sucks that bad
@@martindipshit8673 I would say all of the reasons I gave alone could be responsible for ruining your day at Cedar Point. I do not think it is anywhere close to being a perfect park.
I would argue something quite different has happened recently. The park was praised because everybody loved it, which seems fair. Recently, first time visitors have felt that the park has not lived up to the hype. This has overall weakened the reputation of the park and it may be a few years before it circled back and becomes everybody’s favorite again.
Thank you! I've been hearing people rave about how CP is the best since the early 80s. But on every one of my dozens of visits I've thought to myself "I should have went to Kings Island instead."
I guess it doesn't wow me as much as it used to now that I've been to almost 40 parks, but I still think it's my favorite park & I love stupid B&Ms so this place is perfect for me
Cedar Point is a place that I used to look up to in my younger years in terms of parks but as I revisited in recent years, the flaws in this park started to stand out to me--and they were only amplified when the park was slammed. On a super crowded day you were guaranteed maybe like 7-10 rides at best. Meanwhile I went to Energylandia on a *Saturday* last July and got the full lineup complete, got multiple rerides between Zadra, Hyperion and Abyssus--I believe I got roughly 30 rides in that day. Until further notice--you could never pull that off at CP let alone on a Saturday lol.
I like the way you think, I used to think it was going to be the most absurdly incredible place as well until I went. People would literally band together and obliterate someone if even an ounce of disliking was thrown at Cedar Point lmao. It’s a good park, there’s no doubt about it, but the cult worship I’d witnessed over the years kinda destroyed the hype for me
@@coasterfrenzy3074 A part of me is thankful I didn't go in 2018 when the SV fanboyism was at full tilt bc while it's a good ride imo it has its flaws (in which anyone who had it anywhere lower than 1 at the time was pretty much put on death row). Since then that hype has died down and we've been able to appreciate it more in a way but my gosh...the fanboyism around that ride in 2018-19...Saint Scheiße that was sum else.
In a way, that’s one of my biggest problems with Cedar Point. A problem that has NOTHING to do with the park itself, but it’s fans. It’s so, ridiculously defended (at least, it was) that even the most picky persons expectations would be put up to the sky just because praise and worship is all that the park would get. In my case, that’s nearly what happened. I thought it was a lot of fun, but my GOD… that was not the paradise people put it out to be
@@coasterfrenzy3074 I used to be one of those people years back but once I revisited the park and started visiting other places...imo it's like if you take the lineup out of the equation it's nothing to shout at at all (yes same can be said for many other places...) but literally that park is carried by its lineup more than anything else.
my best day at Cedar Point was with the fast lane plus back in 2018 where I got to get in 34 rides in one day so obviously includes rerides and we got to ride dragster 8 times that day and sadly this will never happen again because the park just seems to be overly crowded the last 5 times i have been there
Some days it is ridiculously crowded that’s for sure, I haven’t been a day where it was “slammed” to the point where I wanted to leave but I definitely believe it when people say it has those days
Just realized ur back which is nice. Honestly I just don’t understand any of these complaints, mostly cuz it seems like u rly don’t have any lol. I went into this park expecting heaven on earth, and that’s what I got and I continue to get every time I go. Also maverick is insane, literally it does I305 better than I305. Maybe I just got lucky rides last year cuz I don’t remember it being that insane when i went in 2017. I305 definitely has stronger and better positives, but maverick is still extremely intense, and maverick just has even better airtime, snap and pacing than I305 plus a great launch. I got a night ride and the tunnel feels like ur launching into a black hole, and then I blacked out on the lake turn, and then we got to the Stengel dives and it was literally over, that’s what moved it to my #1. Either way both maverick and I305 are in my top 2 and aren’t even close with anything else cuz I just love Intamin death
Imma have to disagree with you on this one buddy, especially with Millennium force, Gatekeeper. Yah I’ll agree with Valravn, what a piece of trash and does nothing. However, the park atmosphere is amazing to me, Steel Vengeance is just absolutely fantastic as well. The park was not overhyped for me when I just went for three days and stayed at Hotel breakers, an absolutely incredible experience and not like any other theme park. As a guy use to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Cedar Point blew it out of the water, it’s a clean quality park and the only thing even remotely close to it for me is Kings Island
I def get some of that. Trust me, I know it’s a good park and I said that multiple times in the video, but for me I’ve just been to places that stood out way more, there’s also quite a few flaws with this place that nobody had really talked about, at least that I’d seen. It’s still a really good time don’t get me wrong
I think it’s good that we all have our own opinions. I do find it strange that 5 of your top 25 coasters are from Cedar Point… and yet you think the park is 💩? Sounds more like click bait. 😂
5 of them are in it, and I love them. Literally every other ride in that collection, if it came down to it, I couldn’t care less if something happened to them lmao. And “kinda shit” is different than straight “shit” lol. I gave Cedar Point its props, but I also made sure to touch on what I don’t like about it. It’s a good park, but it’s ridiculously overrated. There was nothing “click bait” about this 💀
This is how I feel about Magic Mountain. It's my homepark but heavily overrated. Some great coasters but also alot of filler and alot of the park is ugly. Food is bad. Just an average park imo. Lol.
For me the park has no character. Everything is just slapped in all over the place and not that aesthetically pleasing. Kings island does a lot better with atmosphere and character and honoring their history.
