I just went to cedar point last month, about 5 ft 7 255 lb or so my friend is about the same size. Did the test seat, there were two belts I got the longer one hooked okay. When we got on the ride the op had to push the bar down. But, apparently it didn't make up the photo eye sensor or whatever and the ride op made us get off no one thought to offer us the larger seat. Valravn they offered us a larger seat it was fine, but still quite restrictive. Blue streak was really tight, but mostly just in the entire seat space, the box that I had to fit in was very very very tight I barely fit, and I barely got the seat belt buckled. Cedar Creek was about the same story except the seatbelt definitely was not going to buckle. Slightly more room on Gemini, but barely got the seat belt buckled my friend didn't until I buckled it for her and then it was really kind of iffy. I probably should have encouraged you to just get off the ride. Magnum and Blue streak I was able to ride both, I didn't have the nerve to try steel vengeance, Maverick was relatively roomy, the vest didn't feel all that restrictive at all, but, if you were to tighten the seatbelt down all the way it pushed directly into my abdomen. When I did the test seat, the kid out front said that it only had to make up the belt, there was three or four inches to spare. But the kid on the platform snug the the belt down I asked him if it had to be that tight, he said if it wasn't that tight I couldn't ride. Well nurse was a bit snug, but the restraints were fine all good
Thank you so much for doing this! We recognize that what you do is very vulnerable and your vulnerability helps people better inform themselves. We really enjoy your laid back personality and nuanced perspective! Everything about you is incredibly genuine and that’s a rarity around these parts.
Great videos! Super helpful! I’ve watched them all! Not being familiar with roller coaster seating at all, I’m trying to measure up for an upcoming CP trip. Where approximately on the body does the cross bar generally hit - as in, where should I measure circumference for cross bar clearance? Is it rib cage or lower? I’m 6’ 235 but and sort of wide and stocky. I’m measuring roughly about 45” - 47” from my chest to midsection with the lap belt area roughly 42 - 44”. Wondering if I’ll have any problems. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it. Most restraints will hit around the belly button area....maybe just a bit higher fir anything coming down over your shoulder. Hope this helps. Good luck
@@DorkyDude fellow big guy here I’ll be at cedar point June 25th hopefully that’s when you go I’m A Hersheypark season park pass holder and also SeaWorld Orlando just lost 50 lbs I’m about 315 now and 6ft I fit on The kraken, manta, ice breaker, candy-monium, sky rush (although I think they changed the harness for sky rush making it more bigger friendly) comet, lightning racer, and wildcat any suggestions or would you know what I might be able to get on at cedar point as always love the video’s keep up the great work
For bigger riders, I was able to ride all but Millennium Force- I’m 5’10” 268 lbs . I carry my weight around belly but even wear 40-42” waist. When I tried the seat at entrance of MF, I was 3 inches short of buckling the lap belt. My best estimate is that you need a 36-38 inch waist. Good luck every bigger rider; hope this helps.
I know its a struggle to get those last few inches. Thanks for sharing your insight. Don't be above lifting the gut and tucking under if you really wanna ride. I've done it...it sucks....but you do what you gotta do LOL
Loved your video. I agree on the seatbelts not being too forgiving. Also not all seatbelts on a ride are the same. I've been in one row that was roomy, got back on and could barely close it. Cedar point will allow you to try out a seat before waiting in line. You enter through the exit and ask to try out. I hope you come back and are able to experience all the rides you want. I'm still working on fitting on more myself.
I completely understand how you were feeling. A couple of years ago my husband, my sister in law, a couple of friends and I went to CP. My sister in law and I were between 280-300lbs each. We were only able to ride 3 coasters, Iron Dragon, Maverick and Raptor. I cried. Thankfully we lost about 110lbs between the 2 of us and are now able to ride most of the coasters.
I'm a huge fan of Cedar Point and I cannot wait until you crush your goals and have the opportunity to revisit and ride some more. Props for the positivity!
My heart broke for you on Magnum. I thought for sure you'd have it, but forgot about the short belts. Heading there in a couple weeks again and nervous.
they need to get longer belts for the rides their when I went to cedar point I got to raptor and I got the seat to lock but the ride op refused to let me ride he was being rude and nasty I.hope he got fired I believe that of the seat locks then you can ride
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Cedar Point! Wicked Twister and Steel Vengeance were the only 2 coasters I couldn't fit on. But all the other coaster I rode were awesome! Millennium Force, Maverick, and Gatekeeper are my favorites!
@@GenX6887 I've tried it, I have some more weight to lose. Though my mother fits on SV, but she can't fit on Millennium. I wonder if you hold your weight in your mid section?
Cedar point is about an hour from my home town and pretty much a staple for anyone around here. I haven't been in about 10 years as last time I was almost too big to fit on the millennium force. I love coasters! My heart was with you when you were disappointed when you couldn't fit. Def looking forward to your return and you getting to ride everything you want! Much love to you ♡
You can do anything you set your mind too! At your weight, you can lose it very quickly! Trust me, I’ve struggled with weight my whole life, but it’s always coasters that get me in workout mode! YOLO I guess lol. Dude it’s totally possible and I remember being 270 lbs and wondering if I could even visit cedar point again because of the anxiety of not fitting on top tier rides. That was 7 years ago and I am currently 6 foot 3 inches and 188 lbs. I busted my butt, but I’ve completely transformed my mentality and not for just coasters, but for my family. Look I’ll never be on the front cover of men’s health but there is always time to show the world your true power!!
Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster safety belts are restrictive, but I made it in. Millennium Force not as restrictive. I fit on Raptor, Rougarou, Maverick, Gatekeeper Valravn, Skyhawk, and etc.. I does fit on Power Tower both sides, Slingshot. I almost fit on Wicked Twister side safety belt due to my boarded shoulders, but very close. Well at least you can fit on something.
Thanks for this cool video. I'm sorry you didn't have an ideal experience. I would've thought Gatekeeper restrains would work. Many parks in Europe designate a row in one train to big and/or tall people and I'm surprised the US isn't doing the same. Thanks for sharing this and I hope you ride everything someday
@@mindygazso2656 I know. I'm here right now. Valraven, gatekeeper, raptor, rougarou all have a seatbelt that is either red or a double buckle that extends a few inches. They are located in specific rows so ask for them. The iron dragon is also very friendly.
Im going to cp in a couple of days, ive always been a bigger guy and try and squeeze myself in...hopefully with the 60 pounds I've lost, I won't have to squeeze so much....thanks for the video!
I'm sorry you weren't able to fit on some of the rides. But Dude, You're out there Enjoying Life and Having a Great Time at The Amusement Park Like No Other. Love You Man!! Great Vlog 🎠🎡🎢👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
That's great that you went out and had fun and gave it a go. I remember several years ago when I was well over 270lbs having trouble squeezing myself into some of those rides. I've fortunately managed to lose enough weight where it's no longer an issue but I've definitely been there and I have also definitely made a lot of sacrifices and changes where I'll never win any beachbody awards but I'm much more comfortable.
Hey dude, just wondering what we’re your measurements(height, weight, waist, etc) at the time of this video? I’m going to Cedar Point this Saturday and I’m very very nervous about fitting and my anxiety is through the roof, would great appreciate your input! Great content btw!👍🏼
@@DorkyDude Much appreciated bro! Thanks for the good wishes. I’m currently 5’8 about 285, so I’m honestly just hoping for the best at this point!!! Not getting my hopes up tho. Lol.
There might be a couple that are a no go for you but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how many you are able to ride. Some might be a little snug....but I think you are going to have a great time. Good luck.
@@DorkyDude Update post visit: Like you said there were some that were a little snug but absolutely had a blast! Pretty much was able to ride on all the rides I wanted! Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Magnum XL, Valrayvn, Gatekeeper, Raptor, Rougarou, but, definitely motivated to lose some weight to fit more comfortably! Thanks for all your help and intel dude!
@@NotoriousU.C.G. Hey there, I was wondering where you keep your weight? I am 6'1" and about 280. I used to lift a lot so I have some muscle weight left, but I store my extra chub in my gut. I'm curious how I'd fit at my current weight. Thanks.
Hey dude, how’s the weight loss? I’m goin to be there in June I’m 6’0 250 and am worried I’ll be so embarrassed if I don’t fit on all the rides with my beautiful thin wife lol
Yes. But it was opening day. You've gotta know going in that you may have to wait in line at an amusement park. People complain too much. Thanks for watching!
Honestly....probably not all.....but you'll have a good shot at many. It will really depend on your measurement around your middle while seated. I wish you the best. Good luck!
I'm sorry you couldn't fit on more rides! I am 5'6" and at my last visit weighed 270 most of my weight in my stomach and thighs. At that weight I could squeeze in everything except steel vengeance, millennium force, wicked twister and top thrill dragster and one of the flat rides, can't remember off the top of my head which one. Cedar Point does make their seat belts shorter than normal because you should be able to have rode Magnum and the old time car rides. And you are not far off from being able to ride Maverick. Keep up the work, it is hard work but I believe in you!
Thank you for the video. I’m down about 80 pounds (from 340) and hoping to make it on everything next month. Showing the test seats help a lot. Good luck on your weight loss journey. Best of luck!
@@DorkyDude My brother lives in Ohio. We plan to hit Cedar Point and Kings Island while we are out there. Haven't been to Kings Island in almost 30 years.
Me and my gf went 2 weeks ago its her first time and my second she got to ride raptor but got fat shame on millennium Force then we got rain out cause a storm. I felt really sad for her to have to experience that she told me stories at least Disney will sugar coat it or try to find another car with a bigger belt. We thankfully got rain check tickets and are going to try to see how the Halloweekends are
I’m in the same boat - 6’1” 395. Thanks for these videos, they are inspiring me to get of my fat ass. The last time I was at cedar point was 2013 I had just lost about 130 pounds and the season pass was my reward. Like a dumbass I gained it all back and a little more. I will see you at Coastercon and we’ll both fit on Millennium Force!
I feel ya. I lost about 100 lbs. a year and a half ago and put it all right back on after vacation and over the course of the past year. Thanks for sharing. Its tough, but if we can do it once....we can do it again! (Fist bump through the internet!)
Thanks. Masks are optional outdoors as long as you can maintain "social distancing". When I visited, they were asking that you still put them on when going inside a store, shop, etc. So....you shouldn't have to wear it much....but have one handy. Hope this helps. Have fun!
hey dorky dude i'm going to cedar point on august 20th and wanted to know i'm buying the fast lane plus because i am coming from maryland and wanted to know can i bring my paper since i'm doing it online and bring it to soak city side or do i have to bring it to the main gate to get the wristband ???
You can redeem the Fast Lane Pass at almost any store. I usually go to Point Plaza up front or sometimes Joe Cool's Corner Store by Camp Snoopy. I've also redeemed them at Pagoda on the Midway and I believe the General Store at Frontier. Just depends on what entrance I use to enter the park and if the first store has a long line or not.
You should be good to go for most....a few might be a little tight...everybody is different. A few more pounds couldn't hurt....but I don't anticipate a lot of issues. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
I think so. You are a few inches shorter than I am but a LOT lighter. Some might be a bit of a squeeze, but I think you'll be good to go on most, if not all. Good luck!
I didn't find cedar point to be very fat friendly. At 5'11" 275 or less, I can get on most coasters, but at 305, my heaviest, I could ride very few. 1 that I could ride was skyrush at hersheypark, I have never seen anyone take the walk of shame on skyrush.
I hope this isn't rude to ask, but if you don't mind could you say what your pant size is and shirt size ? If you don't wanna answer that's totally ok, just trying to get an idea of what I can ride.
To be honest....I don't really know my typical pants size. All the pants I wear usually have sizes like 2xl and 3xl (no waistline numbers....sorry). My shirts are typically a 4-5xl depending on brand and material. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Hey man! love your videos. I am sitting about 313 lbs. I was looking for a video like this. I Can remember going to Six Flags and my dad having to do the walk of shame. Now I have a son who likes to go, now I am worried I will have to do that walk of shame.
I'm not sure. I didn't mention it in the video, but the line was so long by the time I got to the ferris wheel that I just passed it by. I think they do.....but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm wondering why they can't make bigger seats on roller coasters its stupid they should make it illegal for bigger people to get kicked off of roller coasters
I’ll be honest I’m really starting to hate Cedar Point. Operations are god awful now and it’s so unfriendly for bigger people that I’m surprised they haven’t faced a lawsuit. I much prefer Kings Island because I fit on everything there, albeit not comfortably on the Racer or Beast
I went to cedar point this weekend with my family and I could even fit on the Ford old car ride but I’m about to change my life next year I’ll ride all the rides! The only ride I could fit on was ocean motion
Get you son on Millennium Force, Blue Streak, Power Tower both sides ,Magnum, Gemini, Slingshot since he is 48 inches tall. Get your daughter on Raptor, Gatekeeper Valravn, Maverick, and everything else.
I do understand that the seatbealts are neccessary for kids or smaler persons. but not for grown ups. Once the restraint closes you should be good to go without buckling up the seatbealt. But thanks to these incompetent employees and these nonsensical safety instructions that all belts must be closed, life is made more difficult for us fat people. Happend to me at Santa Monica Pier. There are no reasons for the seatbealts, but they do have them and guess what...they have to be closed...
I hadn't been in a long time until this past week. I was too big for a couple rides, and need to lose some pounds as well. My friend couldn't even get on Steel vengeance and I felt bad for her. It's not very plus size friendly sadly. Also I wear a 40 waist and couldn't get the buckle on millennium force. I was bummed out too as it look like 2-4 inches short. I'm over weight right now, but even when I was in great shape in high school 36 was a stretch. I'm tall and broad so I may not ever fit on it.
Sorry to hear about that. I know it is definitely not a fun time to go and not fit on a ride you were looking forward to. I'm rooting for you. Good luck and thanks for sharing.
