His words " I don't recall ever graduating at all " from OutKast first album made me realize just how powerful Hip Hop was . That verse made a lot of brothers get off they ass and do something for their self in my hood . Facts !!!!
Yeah me too bro. For sure. I can remember where I was for every first listen of an Outkast album. Stankonia surprised me because I was in a record store in Japan the day it came out and the intro was piping over the speaker system and I was just bugging out.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a method to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost my password. I would love any tips you can offer me
"I'm a perfectionist I never pressure the pen space, but I wouldn't be amazing without God's amazing grace, I can travel outerspace standing in one place" -CeeLo Goodie (Trans DF Express)
They really be playing with Big Boi name. He been consistently killing for years. And they keep asking when Andre coming back. They need to bump that Boomiverse. Straight heat
talib kweli was saying on his podcast its like they always want to know what mos def is doing he said he wants to talk to big boi and make an album and call it blackkast
listen to The Nigga Experience off of GMob's Still Standing or One for the Road off of Cee's Perfect Imperfections...cat got mo bars than a for-profit penitentiary...
Real talk he is very down to Earth. I saw him in concert in Albany, GA in 1998-99. After the show was the after party. He was in the after party chillin. Came up to me next to the dance floor and we chopped it up for the rest of the night. It was from then on I was a lifelong fan. Love the work he does and how through all of his success he is the same dude. Respect.
Cee-Lo's verse on I Refuse Limitation made me cry. T-Mo's verse on that same song is just as powerful. Lo's verse on Decisions Decisions. His singing on Ball and G's Paid Dues...I always wanted him and 3K to do a duo project together because it would be phenomenonal.
Cee-Lo created the single most important song that exist in Hip Hop culture.... THE EXPERIENCE is for me to this day a vital dissertation that needs to be in the World History Archives or in the Louvre.
I heard a conversation with Andre and Rick Rubin a couple years ago that was very interesting. They spoke about everything and it’s worth taking the time to hear, if you haven’t already.
Big Ole Words verse 3 … from the first time I heard it until this day- LOVE. Some music touches you and that verse… Whoa!! I love Cee-lo he is a master
My favourite Ceelo was always Goodie Mob, Soul Food Ceelo. I travelled 1.5 hours to central London to pick up that album when it came out back when I was a teen in 1995. Still my favourite album ever.
Agreed. The interview doesn't drag at all. I'm around the 13 minute section and it felt like I've been listening for 6 minutes. That's a good sign of a great interviewer who keeps the show flowing.
People sleep on Cee Lo as a rapper. Man listen, as far as the Dungeon Family, he's the second-best behind Dre. Go back and listen to Soul Food and Still Standing.
Just subscribed. I am slow to do so because when I do it really stands for something to me. So this is a special, blessed evening. Salute, and pray for your career to prosper. Make me proud to say you're bringing the South to the masses. Amen 🙏🏽
My thing is just that it seemed like Andre had hit a creative high. I was really excited to see what he would do next. We got a little taste of it on Idlewild but then just silence. How do you go from busting your creativity free and then putting it all back in the box? Like all I care about is what his mind will come up with on a new album. Solo or Outkast it doesn't matter. He should let that brilliance shine. He was on the verge of creating a new better future for commercial music. But at the same time I understand social anxiety well and I guess in the hip hop scene they care more about going out on top. But that's just about commercialism and nothing about being an artist.
CEELO! That verse you spit from your Goodie Mob $hit is F I R E. Damn, you are a NOT alive if you didn't feel that. Can't wait to support your new stuff. Keep doing your thing brother.
The real American dream is to afford to be able to say no...thats some the most powerful shit I've heard in my 46yrs.....followed by My God....Priceless!!!!!
One of my childhood memories is Big Cuz driving us out to Kings Dominion while we playing and quoting the entire Goodie Mob Soul Food all the way there and back.
WU TANG could ABSOLUTELY get at the dungeon family in a versuz! If you're not being biased to your region then you know that would be a heavyweight battle at the least.
Can’t compare the 2. Reason being the Wu is a group. DF is a collective. 2 completely different things. Wu-Tang an album together & came out as a group before any of them had solo albums. DF members all came out separately & had careers long before they had that one album together. The Wu, the main core 9, is mainly rappers & 1 producer. DF, the core, 1st generation is a production team, 2 groups, a poet, 3 solo rappers, a DJ & a singer….see the difference??
Great interview. Y'all asked him all the rite questions. 'Perfect Imperfections' is his best work by far. No 1 can pen a record quite like Biggie Smalls, Lauryn Hill n Cee Lo Green can ijs...
