Do you have a recomendation for slim ceiling speakers that are mono? Those super slim speakers from the video are single from what I can see. I have a mounting depth of about 90 mm max and would like ceiling speakers that would be part of a 5.1.4 dolby atmos system. Thanks in advance
Greetings, Great video! Please I need RECOMMENDATIONS HELP. Between Monitor Audio CT180 versus Bowers & Wikins CCM665, which one is the best speaker in terms of sound quality? Any other advices will be much appreciated. Thank you.
hello ! your channel is very interesting! What amplifier should I use if I want to install 6 speakers? I want to use the Monitor Audio C180. It is for a room of 115 m2. for parties.
Can you have the monitor audio 6” speakers and the 8” speakers installed in the same home? Will that work with the Sonos amp or do they all have to be the same size and model? Also, will single stereo speakers work with dual speakers? If I put the dual left and right speakers around the house but a single stereo speaker in my bathroom will that still work with the Sonos amp?
Hi Luis, as long as the amplifier you are using to power them supports Dolby Atmos, the C180s make a great Dolby Atmos ceiling speaker. They have pivotable tweeters too so you can direct the sound to where you want it. Thanks for tuning in!
It seems not a lot of people talk about back boxes or sealed ceiling speakers. I feel this is a huge part of sound quality. Be great to hear what the author thinks.
Hi Josh, yes having a sealed enclosure with a ceiling speaker does make a difference to the sound quality. This will have varying results as everyones ceiling and rooms are different but they are certainly worth it if budget allows.
Hi Kevin. While the C265-FX have 2 tweeters each, they still only require 1 cable to them so you don't need separate Amps to power a pair of them. They would be set up as a left and right on your Amp. Hope this helps!
I have the Monitor audio silver series 5.1 system with the fx surrounds, I want to get rid of the fx as I don't have the set up to have the surrounds at either side of the listening area so I'm looking at having them above me. What would you recommend?
@@mrmartinbusek Yes i did Martin as my room is large. Would not hurt if you did anyway. Just make sure you do your audio calibration after angling your speakers not before.I found the Yamaha's good value for money.
Would the larger 8" ceiling speakers sound better in a sealed enclosure, and roughly what size( cu ft)? Or are these more infinite baffle style? Thanks in advance.
Hi moving house and cant fit my floor standers in the new lounge , so going ceiling speaker route. I will only be listening to music , classical and blues. room will be 3.6m x 5.2m. Will a pair of c165 do the job or will i feel a lack of depth, currently Monitor Audio BR5 are my floor standers . would c180 be way better just worried about depth and size.
Hi Simon. I certainly think 1 pair of ceiling speakers in that space would do the job but I would be tempted to go for the larger 8 inch version so you get some more bass output from them. There are obviously big differences in sound between floor standers and ceiling speakers so the 8 inch version would be less of a compromise. Feel free to reach out to us directly if you'd like some further advice!
i guess im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Eddie Corbin i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi there, thanks for the comment. Sealed ceiling speakers have the advantage of being able to improve sound quality but the main advantage is to prevent sound from travelling upwards through the ceiling into the neighbouring rooms as all the sound is fired into the room. If this is important to you, go for a sealed ceiling speaker but some fire hoods can prevent a certain amount of sound from leaking through so can be used with an open backed ceiling speaker. I hope this helps!
Great stream thanks. Almost picked up those KEF Ci160QR...settled for the Ci160ER x 4 in-ceiling setup. Plan to use them as the In-ceiling Dolby Atmos drivers, just ahead and behind main couches in a 7.2.4 setup. Would have really liked the QR's as they would have matched our Q100 FL&R / RL&R and Q200 center. In Canada they wanted $228 ea on sale (from $348) for the Ci160QR and $158 a pair on sale (from $400) for the Ci160ER units. Just hope they sound as good as the Q100/Q200...
I just ordered the same ER's from Vision's. I couldn't deny the price, I got 4 for the price of one Ci160Q. Hoping they match up with my Q's (700's, 600c, 100's for surrounds, surround backs, and currently heights.. until the ER's come in).
@@DF-et4gs let me know what ya think when you're all setup. I'm currently selling my Denon AVRX3300W 7.2. While the 4 ER's sit silent up in the ceiling. Will be picking up an AVRx4500H and a 2 channel amp to build out the 7.2.4 Atmos. There's 11 channels processing in the 4500 but only 9 amps. Saves us about $1400 by not going with the 6300H with its dedicated 11 ch & amps.
@@VonSpud Will do! I actually just upgraded around Xmas from the x4200W to the X4500H. The main reason is the 9 powered channels compared to 7. I'm also planning to pick up an amp in the future, for now I'm only planning on using two over heads. Have to wait a while for another upgrade though, specifically a good amp, or I may find myself divorced. Lol
@@DF-et4gs haha I hear ya...wife's not too thrilled with me replacing "the perfectly fine" receiver... doesn't quiet get it like we do lol I'm still trying to sell our TV to move over to an OLED. Baby steps.
@@VonSpud ain't that the truth! If you managed to make that move you will not be disappointed. I went from testing roughly 5-6 different LCD's before I landed on an LG E6 55". I had to step down in size due to price, but I was awarded with a fantastic television. Good luck! PS, you can find me on AVS Forums under HVACGuru if you wanted to chat further. Regards
