Being new to the game is hard so no worries if you struggle or do not understand a couple things here and there. After each turn you get money. A flat amount + win/lose streak bonus + interest. The interest is your current gold divided by ten rounded down. For example, if you have twelve gold after a turn you get +1 interest, so if you stay at 50 or more you get +5 interest. +5 is the highest interest you can get. So staying at 50+ makes you 5 extra gold after each turn. Which means early on you are weaker as you spend less gold but later in the game you will have more money than someone who spent all their gold and did not build interest. Generally it is better to save your money and profit from the interest gold. It will make leveling and rolling for certain more expensive Pokemon easier. Depending on your team or strategy it can vary as you may have seen in my Infernape reroll video, where I spend all my money before the first portal.
