I grew up in Junction City (1949 - 1961). In 1961 I left to live with relatives in Oregon. My parents and siblings lived about a block or so from the high school. The only school I can remember going to was the Washington Grade school. Thanks for sharing those memories
I was born there in 1949 as well, my favorite memory was buying huge DQ style ice cream cones. I don't know if it was because I was small or not but those were by far the largest I have ever seen LOL
@@franktalley If I remember correctly, the DQ was on Washington street, I think between 11th and 12th. At that time, there was no "Dine- In", you walked up to the window and ordered.
The high school building opened in 1958 housed only grades 10-12. I was a student in junior high and my brother was in the first graduating class of 1958. He graduated from the new high school. I did not go to the school on Eisenhower until 10th grade
that was a good school now we have the 3rd biggest high school in usa and it sucks none of the kids care about it and they vandalize the crap out of it
It's what you make of it. If you say it's boring, get involved within the community or school and see how you can be the change and making something out of JC. Keep in mind, you have the power to make the change become a reality.
Ronald Atkinson i have been here for 18 years and i have seen nothing. at least nothing of interest any way. i am not the type of person to hang out with others and the things that are here either cost money or dont peak my interest. all i do is sit in my house all day only going out for errands or apointments. and i tend to get in and get out asap. if you see some guy walking to walmart, gas station, rex smoke shop, etc thats probly me. i often have a persona q 3ds xl on me and if i am in a mc donalds i will pull it out while i wait on my food and such so that 3ds is a good way of identifying me
one thing i fogot to meantion the people who run the high school made some deals with the devs of the online program that is used in the highschool now. at least i think its still used. so you may want to update this little video with that.
Try to get out and find something ur interested in...The reason u don't like Junction City is the Very reason I love it....I loves the fact it's a lay back quiet town...Maybe u should move to my hometown where something stays happening and someone is shot , killing, burglary, people hanging out but it's not the hangout I desire....Thank God for what u call boring city...My kids grewup here graduated from school here and never was chased home by gangs.....Sweety this City just might be a life saver 4 some bcus it can keep you out of a whole lot of trouble or grave yard.....cheer up sweety..👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾💯💯💯😎😎😎
@@blackberrylady9265 i moved out of there last year. not only is jc a boring town but its taxes are way too high for whats offered. and i am much more happy with the town i have since moved to. its a smaller, quieter, yet much more pleasant town with alot of stuff i like in walking distance, plenty of resturants, a gym, a bar, and the taxes arent high either. also that daily simple intrest nonsense drove my mother insane.
