I made this with a few minor additions (thyme and a very small amount of brown sugar) - and I felt compelled to come back and tell you how amazing it is. Literally the best breakfast sausage I have ever eaten. Cheers!

We love breakfast sausage! The guys like the spicy while the ladies in our house like it not so spicy with a strong sage and maple syrup flavor..yum!!!! Going to be making sausage egg burritos today.

Hey Eric! I've heard people in the past mention using sodium diacetate in their breakfast sausage for that added tang flavor some storeboughr sausages have? You ever tried anything like that? I really enjoy that flavor but not sure how to do it.

I made this recipe today with half the amount of cayenne and red pepper flakes and we loved them! Simple and easy to make. I also added a hickory smoke powder to it and it gave the sausage a really great flavor.

Yeah. If you're set on making sausage using spoons and cups, then this is not the place for you. If on the other hand you are interested in making sausages like a pro then you might want to buy a scale and stick around.

@@steveruby2120 😂😂 Fair enough and if you say that you've been making sausage for 50 years then I'll believe you, but my comment is more about leveling up your skill set. This sausage "The American Breakfast Sausage" presented by a different You Tube channel is literally the easiest sausage on the planet to make, heck you don't even need a grinder. I'm actually surprised that with over 50 years of sausage making experience you can't do the conversions in your head. Regardless, if you take a scroll through my sausage/salami library, you might find something in there that will arouse the curiosity and challenge your skill set. Afterall, if we are not growing in knowledge each day then what's the point.
