I had a 1941 Farmall "A" with a Woods L59 Belly Mower. It ran like a top. Just changed the Spark Plugs from time-to-time, and kept up on the fluids and filters changing.
There badass little machines I ran 10 inches of wheat with one this summer it struggles a little bit but it did it the H usually runs the auger but the A stepped up and did the job
I'm from Stokes County, N.C. and I know all about flue cured tobacco and off set Farmalls. The first tractor I ever drove and used was Grandpa's 1955 Cub. In the 1950s, he and all his neighbors farmed tobacco with Cubs. I still have Daddy's 1963 Farmall 140 that he and I both raised tobacco with. We did it all with the 140. I still garden and scrape snow with it. I grew up on that tractor and spent many hours on it.
We used our Super A for plowing fields for hunting, and brush hogging. I remember standing on the bar and holding on to the lift arma with my brother as we would ride to the fields with paw paw. It was my Great grandpas tractor. Dad still has it.
Thanks for another great video Brian. It was interesting. What a nice little super A tractor this man has. Very well taken care of and in good working order. He is proud of it and the memories it holds for him. These were great tractors for a small farm operation. Thanks Brian for the video. The Iowa farm boy.
I've had quite a few Farmalls just neglected into the ground and during the oil nothing but goop would come out of the oil pan But you know I never did get a hold of one that used any oil must be some pretty tough li'l motors
Ours used a lot of oil would Puff white smoke but always started even when starting up .After i overhauled it honed out the 4 cylinder installed new piston rings a new set of valves laped the valves cleaned all surfaces new! Gaskets,, rebuilt carb it started and ran like new was a lot enjoyable fun work.
@@jamesvincent8274 Yeah I think I may try to get me in another old tractor I'm kind of like to have another Farmall superM But I'll probably be shooting more for a Ford workmaster powermaster with power steering and a Sherman style creeper gearbox and live power and it would definitely be cool if I could score an aftermarket four-wheel drive to put on it
