I am just loving shopping with you. My problem is when I shop, I must plant them. So this is win, win for me. I not only saved money but I can sit with a cup of coffee and not a shovel. Thanks for the tour.

It is 100 here today but we were just across the river today and it was 107 there. It is a toasty one for certain. We lack the humidity which makes it much more endurable.
Pam you sound as lovely as ever. Oh a plant sale, that would catch my eye too! I am heading out to one of my favourite Garden Center this morning, I will try, (emphasis on try) to limit myself to one plant. Lately I have been very good at that but if you say only one plant and go to 5 places well thats Garden math lol. Love the way you "talk" yourself out of plants, I do that too. I have the white wands but I hate the way it turns brown quickly like the white astilbe it tends to look messy brown so I cut blooms off so it doesn't distract from my garden. I just bought "Orchid Yellow" Phlox and I am in love with it. So pretty it's pink and a touch of yellow, tall and beautiful blooms. Have a great weekend!
Oooh that phlox sounds wonderful. Good to know about the veronica, I will keep an eye on the one I have and see how it does. It is in a spot that gets afternoon shade for a couple hours so maybe that will keep it fresher looking. Your garden math sounds like mine. I am trying to rein myself in on buying plants I have had on my wishlist and do very well for me. I went back to see about phlox and was pleased they had them and on sale. As much as I wanted that hanging flower basket I knew it was a frivolous spend and not on my list so I was so proud of myself for refraining. 😇
I love that nursery! If it wasn't so hot I'd make my way up to visit my friend in Vallecito. I got my fig tree and wave petunias there and they are doing well for their second year. Thanks for the tour.
I was just visiting a friend in Vallecito yesterday. She wanted to share her garden with me. She is fabulous with vegetables and often shares. I brought home a big back of basil and I immediately made it into pesto when I got home. I love to have a taste of summer in the middle of winter so we bbq ribs and have pesto fettucine with it.
Hi Pam! I almost spit out my coffee when I saw you talking about creeping Charlie. I can ship it too you as it grows everywhere and kills my grass 😂. I love phlox and looking for some on sale. Congrats on the job, hair highlights and braces! I bought my 2nd brunnera this spring. Love it with my hostas.

They do carry items I have not found elsewhere and the phlox love it here in my garden and so far the gophers have left them all alone. A big plus for sure. We ran to Lowes today and nothing of real interest on sale for me and since I just got some things I keep a tight hold on myself.
Really nice looking flowers in the nursery for being so hot. Love that light pink phlox! I bought a Jack Frost this year & love it. Congrats on getting braces. I got my first set back in the early 70’s in my 20’s. Teeth shifted years later & got then again in my 40’s. Made sure to wear my retainer for a very long time. Now I’m 71 & they have shifted a bit but still look good. So glad I got them. Had always been self conscientious in school with my big crooked teeth but got married & my new husband offered to get me braces & so glad I did. 😊
I know I will love it and I can already tell my jaw is shifting. These are supposed to help widen my airway so I can breathe easier during the night. The straightening of the teeth is a side bonus but I know it will be great.
Yep, I buy own root roses only also. I think some of my white coneflower crossed back to purple. The orange are still the same. Right now with all this rain and today rain and sun then rain-the Mosquitoes are so lousy I can’t even get near vegetation without head net. It’s awful! I mean I wait all winter to get outside and last year was severe drought, heat dome, smoke-this year it’s constant rain, crazy high dew points with Very high humidity and I swear the mosquitoes are hatching in mid air! I can’t take it. I can’t even enjoy the flowers, I have to take pictures and run back in the house. I trimmed some tomatoes and threw fertilizer on them and couldn’t get the peppers ect done as the sweat was running and then rain. They all need sun and dried out. The potatoes are turning already like they’ve had it and I know they aren’t done growing 😏. Amazing enough the roses are doing Great and starting to see about 3 J Beetles on them and asiatic Lillie’s. A couple Lillie’s are huge! I guess we all have some weather problems-I just don’t do mosquitos infested jungle well. So for me to look for sales sounds exciting, but then I think about the mosquitoes. Glad you had a fun day!
I can't even imagine, the relatively few mosquitoes I contend with do detract a lot from my enjoyment so I feel for you. It does sound like a lousy couple of years for gardening in your neck of the woods!
Hi Pam, fun shopping with you today, beautiful plants and selection. I'm impressed with how good their hanging baskets look. Can you tell me the name of the nursery and what town is it in?? I'm in Sonoma Co., Proven Winners plants are extremely limited and most prices are really high this year. I do check Lowes clearance rack but so does everyone else!! This is Hilltop Nursery near San Andreas. They do get a some of the Proven Winners perennials in but not the annuals. I try to check as often as I can because they are always putting out new plants. So true about Lowes clearance racks but one thing I have to say about the one I go to often is they are not great and caring for the plant and they fill those racks with the drooping specimens. Today there was nothing that floated my boat but they did have a lot of plants on clearance.
