I think the way that the interviewer asked was confusing. He initially asked "Bieber is German for basketball, true or false?" in his accent, and when Justin said "what?" the interviewer only partially repeated the statement, like "German for basketball?" ... so I can see how that this happened, tbh. In addition, I dunno what the conversation was like just before but it is a really random question asked in an unusual way.

Corne Van Gulik, yeah but the life of a reporter is hard even if you’re foreign. Yeah, she should have learned the word in English but she may have forgotten it or blanked out and had to think of another way to say it. She can still talk properly, she’s just not fluent in English. What’s wrong with that?

That sounds worse. The comment makes it sound like she cares about her outfits and being famous more than her kids. And her kids are in the way of looking good. That’s what that comment sounds like. She did seem to forget her kid judging by her reaction when she was looking for her daughter in the truck and the look on her face. It’s completely normal for parents to forget. It happens when you are stressed out and have a lot on your mind. There are parents who have forgotten their babies in hot car. Because their new parents they are so used to being alone and not looking in the backseat. So they forget. A lot of parents admitted that when they were new parents.

It isn't wrong at all actually. If you look up the definition for dish, she is exactly right. It's a container used to cook or serve food. Using the word dish to mean food, assuming that's what the interviewer was asking about, is a colloquial/slang use for it that might not be common everywhere.

Kylies answer to the question about her lips is exactly what's wrong with celebrities. She knows damn well he wasn't talking about the color of her lips. And instead of addressing his question from an honest standpoint so her young viewers know and understand that her lips are not natural and would not look like that without cosmetic enhancements - she plays dumb. I can explain the first one: in German, a “softie” is a nice, caring, cuddly person (usually a guy). They’ve adopted it from English, just like they’ve adopted “handy” to mean a mobile phone. For “straight guy” they probably meant “straight-forward” guy, so like a manly, macho, bad boy guy basically. So it was just a little language slip-up, they meant to ask “do you prefer a sweet guy or a bad boy?”
