On the anniversary of his death, come check out these great artists talking about the impact that Tupac has had on the rap business. #artistsonartists #tupacshakur
The world wasn't ready for Pac, and unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see another rapper, or any musical artist for that matter, that can give us the things that Pac gave us. There are very few artists still alive that can match the integrity and earnestness of Tupac, let alone someone coming along with that sort of potential now. All the ones who could of have been taken from us. Here's looking at you Nip. RIP.
Im a Wash/DC guy to the bone...born and rasied. And Im old enough (54 yo) to remember my stepfather taking me or me and family to see cats like Gil Scott Heron and Chuck Brown, when they popped up LIVE, somewhere in DC..Ive been to a ton of concerts in my life. And most of them have been specifically r&b acts/singers...going as far back as seeing Mothers Finest, Stevie Wonder, the group LaBelle, Chaka & Rufus...Prince, in 1981, EW&F...the OJays, Luther Vandross, when he first went solo in 1980..and I can go on and on about the legends Ive seen. Tupac is the first 'rapper' that hooked me on his rap and not the sample in his songs..if you know what I mean. And I love hip hip...I remember VERY WELL, when hip hop jumped off in DC in the late 70s and "The Message' was all over the place. But none of the legendary MCs got my attention the way Pac did. It was in his voice...and the way he articulated his feelings. He was "one of us"..and he figured out how to get under our skin IMMEDIATELY, without us having to wait around for him to make a damn point. He was a master storyteller.
I love when snoop put his pride aside and speak highly on the 🐐. Now if he can just keep this same energy and real when it came to biggie and bad boy 🤷🏾♂️ Sad to see Nip speak on the 🐐. We got to quit killing ourselves y'all. Together we're stronger. Rest up Nipsey
Yeah, Dre and snoop had different stories and they were close with each other lol... I believe Dre more, even in the All Eyez On Me movie, Pac was writing in the booth while rapping...
Agreed. 🏆 And his glory was cut short too. By envy & revenge. Same as Tupac. Rappers don't like competition from brilliance, beauty & courage. I sure hope Kendrick is protected from his rap community. Petty thug jealousy runs in their veins. You hear me pdf drippy? You hear me academics? You hear me Lucian? You hear me Snuff 🐕? Kenny stands higher than all ya'll. So... Give him 💐 flowers! Praise his Pulitzer! Lose your jealousy & envy. Rap don't need more bad press. It's a dying art bcuz there's too many dying artists. Wake up & praise the genius!!
