Christina - Loved your Liza version of Supercal.... Could you do a whole Julie Andrews song. Actually when I was a kid I thought the role of Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang should have been played by her - and I've only just found out now that she was offered the role but turned it down being too similar to Mary Poppins. Could you (if time permits) sing the song Truly Scrumptious as Julie as I've always wondered how it would sound as her. Thank you

glebeboi It was given to julie but she didn't want to be in it as it was to close of mary poppins but I think she did the singing voice of truly scrumptious

Upon reading your reply I did a bit of research. Sally Anne Howes did actually do the singing as she was already a recognised singer - she replaced Julie Andrews in the Broadway production of My Fair Lady when Julie left for England. Julie was definitely cast to play as Truly Scrumptious that is true. The reason it is so compared to being Mary Poppins-esque is mainly due to the songs were written by Robert & Richard Sherman who wrote the songs for M.P, the music arranger Irwin Kostal also did M.P (& TSOM) as were the choreographers Marc Breaux & Dee Dee Wood. But alas there is only one Julie Andrews.

My soul was not ready for this AT ALL. Celine and Babs are my all-time faves, but I lost my SHIT with SupercalifragiLiza. I think I threw my phone and said, "Get the F*** outta here!" the first time. And the Babs/Bernadette finale??? Ugh. You're LITERALLY my Superhero, Christina.

I don't use the term outstanding very often but this is truly IS. For an American to do a British accent/dialect is hard enough for a man but for a woman is even harder and rare but YOU have nailed this and absolutely fantastic performances. Good luck in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.

When she "sings" like Julie Andrews her accent is overly exaggerated and it does not sound like her at all.

They're supposed to be caricatures of famous voices, not carbon copies. So the idea is to take what's unique about each voice and exaggerate those qualities. Julie Andrews is known for scooping on her notes, not as much as Christina does, but that's the whole point of doing a parody.
