Cody Linder I love Katharine Hepburn. I've been watching her work since I was a child. She was a very, very, good actress. That said, Meryl Streep, to me, is an actress with more breadth and depth. Meryl can do anything. Meryl can take on accents, languages, cultures, the past,present, and future. She does comedy, drama, she sings, and dances. She hasn't won all those nominations and awards just because they weren't giving them out in Ms. Hepburn's time. She's won them because some things are simply indisputable. Again, I love Ms. Hepburn, but Meryl Streep is in a class all by herself. If you don't believe me; all you need to do is watch her body of work. Almost all of it is available on dvd/netflix. Her talent is a national treasure, and a gift to the world.
Me too. The fact that she loses herself into each character makes me feel like I have never known her. Other actors bring some of themselves into the character

Dustin Hoffman was incredibly cruel to Meryl Streep during the filming of Kramer vs Kramer. As shittty as he was to her, he shouldn't even be allowed to speak about her.
+Tom Helms He slapped her very hard in the face, off-camera. He didn't think she was acting upset enough in the scene they were doing and thought this would help her performance. She was very angry with him.
I would E quaint Meryl Streep's acting to Paul Newman's. They're learned so much about acting and people that they've thrown away all that extra crap that makes you notice they're acting and they just become their part and forget who they really are. She's also seems like a lovable nut who plays that evil pirate musical invention, the concertina!
