Rule of thumb: If you find yourself constantly having to explain and defend how your “business” isn’t a pyramid scheme..... you’re probably in a pyramid scheme.
my friend just joined one and is constantly saying its real money and its not a pyramid scheme etc etc..? and she literally just started? why even mention that?
Can you imagine how the people who actually start their legitimate business feel when they see these MLMs say they started their own business? Disgusting.
Jessica Walker I have a friend who used to live in Seattle and he worked out at a 24 hr gym and he met this cute girl. He asked her out and it went good for like three dates and she invited him to “church” he thought she was a sweet choir girl, nope, it was a Scientology “stress test” recruitment night. He booed out of that real quick and blocked her number and switched gyms.
@@cfjermedal I went to JW church and culty ester camp once and those are scary effective (sugary foods, cardio/breathing and "communety"lovebombing... I can't imagine how much more it would have effected me if I didn't know some of the techniques/was subject to them regularly.
Can we talk about real quick in the show OITNB when Daya mom in the show got scammed by a MLM? I love how it shows how desperate she was looking for a job when she got out of prison and jumped on a MLM and the realized was scammed. I know it was in a show but I liked how it shows no matter what anyone can be scammed.
does anyone else think it's interesting how many of these mlm people are christians? like 90% of the ones i come across are ALWAYS either posting about their mlm or some bible stuff
I discovered anti mlm content through your channel and now I'm addicted. Can't get enough. I really appreciate your effort into exposing these schemes.
@@moo_jessye I've read a lot of posts and a few articles that say she works for Box/IBM. Some kind of content management platform. A friend who works in a similar industry says its a really legit company and she has a very good job. www.realitytitbit.com/netflix-reality-shows/love-is-blind-what-is-jessica-battens-job-is-the-netflix-star-still-a-regional-manager
So here's a fun one: Ellen Pompeo often is sponsored by young living, specifically the seedlings (kids) line. I was in YL when she had a big post and video about it and let me tell you the Huns LATCHED onto that promo and used it like no other. "oh you're weary about YL, well Meredith grey loves it" Home girl must be money hungry cause you'd have to be pretty desperate to completely overlook that.
Cheer had many of these creepy elements that pinged my suspicions, as someone from right down the road from where it was filmed. Strong smalltown commercialized Christian identity-politics vibes, with a strong overlay of exploitation of the vulnerable. That show is NOT inspirational. It's a horror.
I worked on a set doing wardrobe. No way can anyone take 5 and make calls. You have to be absolutely quiet on the set. If you step outside everyone’s looking for you. They can change direction at a moments notice and decide to shoot your scene. The “downtime” people talk about on a set is real, but you must be ready to work at all times and fully present.
I never thought I needed this kind of content in my life but apparently I do lol. You’re so pretty and eloquent! My parents have been fooled into two pyramid schemes. Wait is Tupperware and Avon a pyramid scheme ? I don’t think the price gets lower the more you sell but I can’t remember anyway I think it’s safe to say they won’t be ever again. Thank you for the info! Also shame on these “celebrities”
It’s comical to me how these people keep saying “my business”. You purchased the rights to have a branch of someone else’s business. You’re not a business owner, you’re hardly a partner.
I am a new subscriber and omg I had no idea the depth of the MLM scheme. If I hadn’t seen this video, I wouldn’t have realized that one of my favorite actresses was using her platform to promote one of these scams. I just saw a post from Holly Marie Combs (Piper from Charmed) and I knew the signs immediately because I watched this video. She has over 800k followers and she’s using that to recruit her fans to be a part of her “team”. Super disappointing!
Is there a way that we can submit MLM stuff to you for the fail videos? Recently one came on my timeline and my mouth dropped anyways always loving these videos! You share facts... and you’re opinion is just LOVELY 😊 💗 I wish kore people thought like how you and your followers do 🤦🏽♀️
1. I think the girl from Love is blind knows she will get about 5 minutes of fame. 2. You have to watch Atypical! It's so good. 3. ""Oh oh oh-big time rush" Rachel Hollis"
My MIL used essential oils and after a few years, she had TERRIBLE psoriasis broken out all over her skin. She stopped using them and it went away... not to mention they smell horrid.
I think Kelly was already part of it, because in one of the episodes she through in that she had lost 40 pounds...but now that she has a lot of followers she’s going to milk it!
I got sucked into beachbody briefly. I had never been into fitness before and on day one I was considered a “coach” publicly. Fortunately for me, about a month in my sponsor saw the light and quit herself. I was one of the lucky few that because even though I lost a little money it was still a net positive for me, as I was already a stripper at the time and all the sales training and weight loss lead to increased earnings for me, but 9 years later I still cringe about the things I said and did that month.
It’s kinda sad that they like “I’m not trying to sell to you “ well you don’t have to cus you famous and ppl trust you in a sense and want to talk to you and will come to you.... and trust and cus you got money that you wouldn’t also be working a scam. Like why? Smh like I would love to say they don’t know but how can’t you? Like then that just means you don’t know your own business. Smh. Idk
She is an insult to Pepperdine University! I want to be rewarded in ridiculous and glamorous ways! I dont want to prey on people though. Ugh! The struggle is so real!
She's hitting so many quintessential Hunbot markers in that Q&A that it just has to be a joke. It's like she was preparing for a role about a woman in a pyramid scheme, went full method actor and now is stuck. Actually...that might make a good movie script. Edit: Carlos always was the dumb one... It's a shame I can't watch them on screen now without thinking about Gary Young's dead baby and wonder how many more babies are going to be hurt by his poisonous legacy.
You have a point. As far as I'm concerned these celebrities have the pull to get these large sales compared to the everyday person. I would never join an MLM unless I was a very gifted salesperson that could deliver. Very few will do well with it.
The actor"s life is about long hours sitting around on set waiting for your call. There" s a lot of dead time to work your phone. I would imagine she also has help/assistance/PR
When I saw Alexis recent RU-vid video at the “young living ranch”(I used to watch them every upload) I immediately quit watching. I was so disappointed.
Morgan from Netflix' Cheer is an Arbonne hun and she's so young! As well as that reality chick Audrey Roloff from Little People Big World as well does YL
Jenna Boyd moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma for $10k as part of a relocation program to promote growth of the city. I think she’s the type to do anything for money
Thiiiis 🔥🔥🔥 IG you are the popular girl or guy in high school or sorority president or whatever, your influence helps. But for the little piropea who keep to themselves and put the same amount of work, it just won’t work
Honestly these videos are my guilty pleasure 😂😂 I love watching your videos in general but these videos are so good and coming from someone who was sucked into this shit in the past I also feel a huge amount of relief everytime I watch 😂
“Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak. -Thomas Carlyle “ -Rachel Hollis
Wow that last one was shocking. It's also super fucked up that she's telling people to put oils in their water (and that she did it while she was pregnant) because it's very bad to orally ingest certain essential oils.
Kelly Chase posted on her Instagram on the 3rd of November saying she is officially free from debt on that day- do you think she is out of it now? Or still selling beach body despite acknowledging she was clearly in debt while doing it
I was sucked into R&F first as a customer. Where I was told I needed to have auto shipments to get the newt deal. When I delayed auto shipments and said it was because of money, they totally used that to recruit me. I did love the products, but i did not love paying $700 for a starter kit that I never used. Where were you before i got roped in girl? Lol
“The actor life is very cool”. I can absolutely assure you it’s not. 😂 but the fact they’re using their fame and reputation to peddle this garbage is just WILD.
EXACTLY WHY THEY GO ON THOSE SHOWS. NO ONE GOES ON A RIDICULOUS SHOW LIKE THAT TO MEET A GUY. they do it entirely for fame to generate income in some way or another. How do they sleep at night when they know they're roping other woman into something that they'll never prosper from. It makes me sick. If you have to be so defensive about what you do, there's a problem
It looks like Alexa has a separate page for her oily posts. She tagged it in her bio since this was posted. That could be why there weren't a lot of posts about it. Also, she has a special link that leads to a consultant signup page, which makes me wonder how many she has in her downline. Also, why is anyone thinking that just because pyramid schemes are illegal means it won't happen? They're basically a legal loophole. It's cash for a product, even with the downline/upline dynamic, so technically it's legal because you're getting something out of it. Also, I saw someone mention on r/antiMLM that while you *technically* can do well without getting a downline, in many cases you'd need to sell an insane amount of product. This person worked for Monat and said she had to sell 200 products a month to make any money. The shampoo lasts for 3 months, so she basically had to get 600 new customers a quarter. That's possible if you're a celebrity, but not otherwise.
You really don't have to wonder if someone is involved in an MLM, usually you out about that within like the first two minutes of knowing them because it's the first thing they talk about.
it's selective communication, hardly something we've not been exposed to before. it's basically the same thing that politicians, TV preachers, motivators, advertisers and assorted snake oil salesmen have been doing for ages. long story short, the concept behind all this crap is that being condescending and patronizing (that I personally find quite creepy), with a pinch of assertiveness here and there, is perceived by the average man as reassuring and inspirational.
Want to spend more time with your family AND want to make some extra income? It's SO easy, AND you get to be your own boss BABE/SHE-E.O. (omg cringe) plus you can work from anywhere on your phone! Claim your life back and make money at the same time!!!💙💙💙 ...IF YOU WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL in this business you GOTTA hustle! You gotta work long hours, you gotta put the time in to make it work. No one said this was going to be easy (*literally everyone did, but ok 🤷🏻♀️). 😳😳😳
I love that you’re always serving up the hottest tea on these scammers. Can’t wait for you to get picked up by Netflix in your own Chris Hansen style show “Have a Seat With Kiki” - I know that’s not your real name but it’s perfect. “Have a seat, Boo. I have audio and visual recordings of you telling women in a Facebook group to get pregnant to boost sales. What do you have to say to these allegations?”
They know, they just make more money because they already have a fan base and tons of followers. They lead others already and people are 100x more likely to do something if a celebrity tells them it works and to give it a try. It's very sad honestly. It's greed.
@@ericabassi7728 True, but also, I'm almost certain they could be making more money from sponsorships and brand deals. Like Jenna boyd, for instance, was bragging about being in the top 2%, but according to rodan and fields own income disclosure statement, the top 2.3% of their paid consultants (which is only 55% of their total consultants) only made $13,000-$15,000 for the year in 2019. And that's not including their expenses! I don't get it. It's terrible business. Unless they're getting paid on the side by the mlms to promote their companies. Thats the only way it makes sense for them to do this over traditional brand deals and sponsorships to me.
I sold for Young Living for a bit. And studied lots about essential oils, much more than what my upline and YL teaches. And, I must tell you something... NEVER INGEST ESSENTIAL OILS!!!!!!!!!!!!! YL tries to treat oils like medicine, but they are not!
Doterra inspired me to get a bunch of books from the library about aromatherapy and none of them suggested ingestion. Kinda telling that the only "professionals" that suggest ingestion are the two companies that stand to profit the most from people believing there is a purity standard that suddenly makes these edible.
Yes, EOs are great but NEVER ingest them! Also...both YL and DoTerra are marked up 60% for the EXACT same product you can buy elsewhere only its direct sales.
My friend went to a Oils party and the consultant put some oils in a styrofoam cup and the oils ate right thru that styrofoam! I couldn’t imagine what this would do to your body.
Yes he did!!! And now he’s moved on to a new healthy relationship. Happy for him! And she looked kinda miserable at the reunion and she deserves it. I really think she only did the show for more followers now.
S McD And do I sometimes forget where I was headed with a question and so I keep talking until I remember the point and then my question is really long and you probably fell asleep before I got to the question mark? ABSOLUTELY!
Her: It's SO easy guys! You can literally do it anywhere! All you need is your phone! Anyone can do it! Also her: No one said it was easy! You have to work hard! I had to work so hard to build my 'business'! Me:🤔
I fight my gag reflex super hard every time they refer to their "journey." Like, hearing the word automatically makes me picture them being under intense brainwashing already, but like their brain is secretly throwing out this code word to their audience to signal for help, knowing people like me are currently trying not to vom!!
On the show Kelly tried to talk about her beach body business, but Netflix didn’t let her specifically say she was a beach body coach. She was hardly on the show and when she was she would mention her “work.” I already didn’t like Kelly after she made that comment saying that her partner wasn’t good looking enough when she’s the worst looking one on the show. He was much more handsome than her and she had the audacity to say he wasn’t attractive enough? Anyways, I’m not surprised she’s a beach body coach. I truly believe she only went on The show for exposure and not love. In the reunion her and her “partner” said it wasn’t real between them and they knew right from the jump it wasn’t.
Blake1720 girl you tell the truth. I was like nope don’t like Kelly, Kenny was such a great guy and hot. When she said I usually go for brunettes, I was like that is the shallowest thing I’ve probably heard in a while. I never really liked her that much
I always got weird vibes from Kelly from the start of the show and now I know why. She was literally lying in all her confessionals when she talked about how much she "loves" Kenny. She did the show purely to jump-start her "business" and faked the whole thing with Kenny for airtime, when you could tell he genuinely loved her especially after what happened at their wedding. She is the worst kind of hun using any kind of fame to gain popularity and brainwash more innocent women into a heartless pyramid scheme.
@@kelsynicole9135 I thought it was so odd when she took off for SD when they got back from Mexico. Then I heard what she really did and was ahhhhhh I see now. SMH
It all makes since now!! They showed him more then her and her being extremely shallow. Even her post show interview before the reunion show she was talking all wired about looks when he was actually attractive.
My husband had a weird feeling about her the whole time. After I watched KiKi’s video I told him she was in an MLM. It makes so much more sense now. I didn’t care for her, but he kept saying something is off with her through the whole series. He was right, and now we know what it was. She was only trying to gain more followers.
Isn’t it funny that none of them rant about how good the “products” are? It’s always just about making money. As a consumer I just want good quality products 🙄
With arbonne they definitely go on about it. The mascara was in a magazine article , Jesus they went wild! But yet they don’t talk about how the serum has silicon 😂
