I saw the IRS taking Redd’s house and belongings on TV. So super sad, he was tearful and it was terrible. Redd took in stray dogs and kept them. Quite a large number of strays were helped by this absolute legend. He was always fighting for the underdog and spreading the wealth. RIP

Redd Foxx is one of the true and great comedy legends! He had to overcome poverty, racism and classism and succeeded in spite of. Sure, he had his vices, as we all do. Great job with this video and the story. Redd Foxx was legendary. Some of my best childhood memories are of watching Sanford and Son re-runs with my father back in the late 80’s-early 90’s. My father’s passed on now, but I’ll forever think of my Dad anytime I watch that great old show or anything to do with Redd Foxx as my Dad loved him. Thank you ever so! 🌹

The tribute to Redd left me in tears, and yes I watched the video of the interview with ET, and Redd was clearly upset. He was never treated with the respect he deserved. RIP John Elroy Sanford. I enjoyed this bra, good stuff. My younger brother & I grew up on Redd Foxx albums & of course Samford and son. I mean I was like 11 years old buying those old LAFF comedy records. I remember Damon Wayans said something that I agree with. He said with Redd it wasn't always that the jokes were the funniest in the world , it was his timing, the way he delivered his jokes that was hilarious. He was just naturally funny .

How could they have not wanted Aunt Esther??? They didn't know a gold mine when they saw one. Kel from Kenan & Kel went through something similar. He was getting rejected at the Nickelodeon auditions (for All That!) when, at some point, out of nervousness, he tripped and fell, which was so funny, he changed minds and got a spot on the show. 😄
