You can be the most talented person in the world but the true measure of a man - ANY man - is how you treat people in real life. There is nothing to replace being a decent human being to those around you no matter who they are.
I agree, it is not the first time I've heard this about Prince. Gemini people have an arrogance and an evil twin. I love the music, but I hate that side of him. Heard he was dismissive of Meshell Nedegello , and even carmen Electra if I am not mistaken.
So what if your a total wanker yet you discovered penicillin? you would have saved more lives than most men, and changed the corse of millions more peoples lives, as well as going down in the history books above most men. You can be a tosser and do good things, for example, try listening to Princes albums.
" you are not to look at prince. You are not to talk to prince. You are not to call him prince. You are not to go near prince!" Ritz carlton prince protocol.😅
The part about Prince being the worst dressed made me think of that Charlie Murphy skit on Chappelle show. He said that Prince was dressed like a figure skater then says "You know where you got that shirt!" RIP Prince RIP Charlie
@@TooSkinnyKenny I actually know someone who toured with him in the early 90's. He said you couldnt approach him or look him in the eye. But he was the best celeb hes toured with.Apprently he put them in the best hotels, he actually took time to meet crew, played practical jokes a few times etc. Ive toured with artists before and from what Ive heard from the few ppl who met him its been all positive.
As a kid of about 1011 years old, I saw princes video for either the song dirty mind or uptown and I tell you it freaked me out when I saw that on TV. I thought it was two adult I thought is it like a band like queen, who is Prince? Then I see this guy dressed like he did like a New York freaky flasher, sexual pervert, and I was like this is too adult!😵💫and change the channel you know those dials that we used to turn fast and landed on cartoons or something!
Man, sit down haters. This chick trying to throw shade that he can’t hit high notes. Anyone who has ever seen that man live knows she’s being ridiculous. Worst dressed??Hideously unattractive?? Eye roll, eye roll, eye roll.
His image has and always will overshadow his musical genius. He wouldn’t have had a vault otherwise. I think he would have been a successful producer in the 1990s had he focused on that.
Serious question: Is there any entertainer with whom Boy George HASN’T had a problem with? He seems to gripe about MANY different singers, actors, producers, etc…. I love Prince and Boy George has great vocals, but George has had issues with EVERYONE, practically. What a drama-queen! 😅
was gonna say the same. tbf he was high as a kite a lot of the time. he took other artists not rushing up to him to say hello at parties etc as a diss. he got suck into madonna for that then went out of his way to compliment her on soc media any time her name came up lol compared to that bitter old queen elton, BG was a delight.
As I see it he simply had bad taste. I saw a photo of him with short hair not long before his health declined which led to his premature death and he was actually a handsome man.
Rick James had some nerve. He was a life time coke-head who spent time in prison for kidnapping and torturing a woman. Prince was definitely a different type of dude, maybe even an asshole at times, but he definitely was not crazy. Even though he rubbed some people the wrong way, he was known in his hometown as being quite generous with several charities and was very friendly to his fans.
@@austinstyles6393They say, men who are women beaters are gay and on the DL. Men that beat and abuse women, really don't like women because of their repressed homosexuality.
Sinead needed to be understood. She was speaking a truth that, at the time, we could not understand (Catholic Church/Sexual Abuse). My relatives knew him in high school, and Prince was always described as "different." When you are poor, you are weird; when you are rich, you are eccentric. When I met him at Glam Slam years ago, he had approached me, and he was always the perfect gentleman whenever I saw him. In Minneapolis, good, bad, or indifferent, we love our PRINCE, and that's all.
He probably already knew you were either a fan or somehow related to his past. As a Gemini, Prince didn't socially relate as much with people that he didn't know or didn't want to know.
Sinead O'Connor was a nutjob, she quite rightly complained about Catholic child abuse, but then she switched religions...she became a Muslim! Talk about going from bad to worse!
@@thebrilliantmrpedro star signs are BS, the arbitrary positions of stars have no effect on the individuals on a planet millions of light years away from them
Ok if being able to play every instrument, sing, dance and a great songwriter. Then who would you call a musical genius You probably think Elvis Presley is God. 😮@@HawklordLI
Boy George didn't pretend to be a Jehovah's witness and over dose on prescription medications. At least he's always been clear about who he was! Prince would have done well to listen to Boy George and come out!
@Therealtruthsocial If you think Prince was gay that's just wishful thinking on your part. Boy George was the big pretender, pretending he could sing. The official verdict of Princes' death is obviously a lie. He was immediately cremated while it took 2 years to get his toxicology report back from the lab.
Absolutely. Rick is on record saying something about not liking around the world in a day like he went to “white“ not necessarily accurate, but he did allude to that. Pursued that wider audience and he was castigated by members of his own black American community, but he was all supported, regardless of what anyone other fans may tell you. There’s a big movement right now to kind of like turn him into. I don’t know you know whatever the politically charged thing is going on… But going back to Rick James Yep by 2004 Rick James praise Prince and express his love for his musicology album. There may have been an attempt to dust up a rivalry to remain somewhat relevant. Rick James was probably more jealous also of the rivalry between Michael and Prince.
@Modernaire At Rick's farewell (funeral), they played Prince and Michael songs 🎵 Rick and Prince personalities collided during that tour. They were both super talented 👏🏾 but Prince's work ethic won in the long run, plus Prince was a true Maverick
@@kenzelcold1636 I agree it was a work ethic thing and not being a “junkie“ like some have suggested here in the comments. As a performer she was more than a one hit wonder, but not on Prince's level of popularity. Sinead did the world a big favor exposing child abuse in the Catholic Church before it became the accepted thing.
@@onesong2001 There weren't many, at least not many who made the newspapers. She was the first one to be publicized in such a manner. And she took heat for it, lots.
I LOVE HIS MUSIC , his moves, he was a loner , were shy he just wanted to be alone , working day and night, he had a lot of pain , he had hip replacement , both sides, he was still jumping with pain RIP
I Loved Prince's music. I have all of his albums. But I have to say given the opportunity to meet him in person, I would have turned it down. None of this comes to me as a surprise. But some of the people on this list seem like they could be rude in person too. I have heard stories about Boy George too. He could be rude to his fans. MJ chastised Madonna once because she was rude to a fan in front of him. I think MJ would have been more gracious to his fans. I know someone who met Trent Reznor in person and said he was very nice. At the end of the day, they are all just people.
@marinothegreatsan I loved the answer Marilyn Manson gave to Michael Moore in Bowling for Columbine when Michael asked him what he would say to the two kids that shot everyone, and Marilyn said, "I wouldn't say anything. I would just let them talk because nobody gave them that opportunity." I became a fan after that.
Prince said, “The first line of that song is 'your butt is mine. ' Now I'm saying, 'Who's gonna sing that to whom? Cuz you sure ain't singing it to me, and I sure ain't singing it to you. ' So right there, we got a problem." do you understand now?
Interesting video. Prince was a fantastic musician and highly entertaining to watch on stage. Offstage, It's fun to be around an eccentric for a time, but Prince stretched the definition into narcissism, and was almost certainly quite difficult to be around for any extended period. It was probably difficult to be around several others on this list as well.
Prince didn't care who disliked him, he only wanted respect for his musical talents. Prince and Michael were friends, the media created a so called rivalry. Everyone else were haters😂😂😂
Initially I couldn't stand Prince because I couldn't figure out his personality. But when he released Purple Rain and I heard the solo on Lets Go Crazy...as a musician I realized he was phenomenal. And by the time I saw him on the Grammy's live in 2013, I came to realize this man is musical royalty. Hail to the Prince! ❤
Boy George said things when he was young and full of himself. He used to say everyone was rubbish. Just a young, ego thing. I'm sure Boy George got over himself and truly admires Prince.
I'm not so sure about prince, I have trouble seeing the "genius" others see: im not really crazy about boy George either but there's something weirdly poetic and hilarious about the dwarf dipped in pubic hair comment that has put him up a notch in my book.
@@rlawrence9838 yeah that was funny, i just think it's a pot meet kettle situation. Boy George looks like an extra from the Roald Dahl film "The Witches".

I think, some of these folks were tested by Prince for traces of humor. Obviously, with a person like him, the test would be beyond the ordinary. Now, does anyone really think that someone who has rooms reinstated for 500k, would "assault" a woman with hardened pillows?
And in his heart! I personally dont believe what O connor is saying. She got into situations where she showed up with anger and violence. I think even against fans. Nope...I dont believe her... On the other side I heard there was a situation between her an P...that she spit on him. Was kicking against his car....I believe that more easily!
@@Angiela_333 I could very well have happened you know I don’t know about that. Where did you hear about that? I’m not questioning you. I just curious to find out because it’s two sides to every story and there’s a lot of created because Prince kind of moved on and didn’t want to spend time trying to verify every stole story about him or cleared up and that’s one of the things that he just couldn’t deal with it was too time-consuming like I said things about him he had to keep working focusing on his art rather than what people complain about, etc.
@@Modernaire I dont know where I watched that and in what relation. Do you mean about OConnor violent....or spitting at Prince? Spitting at Prince,...I heared that someone say in an interview years ago. But no idea anymore who it was and what interview. I think to remember it was said in a kund of documentation.
I beg to differ on Trent Reznor. If you really look into it that man is extremely talented. His "Band" was mostly him on the studio, and just needed to hire a band for live stuff, which I've seen in person, and it was amazing. He is classically trained on piano, and when Johnny Cash coverers one of your songs, you know you are doing something correct! Even Prince realized Reznor had talent, asking him to remix for him. I believe Trent Reznor is a musical genius as well. That being said, Prince is a musical genius, yes. And I am a HUGE HUGE Prince fan. I am actually kind of sad that that meeting between them went sour. They are both musical Gods as far as I am concerned, and I am super disappointed they didn't get along. (And noted that we are only getting one side of the story, unfortunately)
Camille was not female. It was supposed to be a surprise album buy a “long lost cousin” to confuse the public and have some fun and then return to his black funk rock roots. It actually turned out to be sort of a symbolic of negative ego driven creative work at the time, including a response to the environment, of which she was recording, mostly of which was at Sunset sound Studios. It was an altar eagle, but it was representative. Another side of him to escape the trappings of the music. He was let Wendy take over. It’s just one big so please you know don’t spread that. It’s not a female alter ego and I’ll throw eagles correct but not female. Does it sound like a female? It sounds like sped up, which is a tribute to one of his heroes. Allegedly also a jab at Michael Jackson’s name and higher pitched voice vocals.
@@profwriteteacher9887 I AM! Sorry, yes, I use voice to text a lot on the go and I'm also long winded and opinionated to boot! I'll review and revise my comment, thanks for letting me know, peace!
It’s actually the other way around because in doing such things, including throwing Janet under the bus, leaving her hanging literally it wasn’t Prince the only one who disliked this mediocre this mediocrity that was thrusted in the Publix face. And as you can see with the way he treated Brittany And recent busts. I’m sorry I got to give it up to Prince for making sure his room was not next to this punks.Punk’s.
Prince was the Tiny Tim of his day with a bigger ukulele. It was hard to look away when he appeared on screen. Same with Boy George on the video for Do You Really Want To Hurt Me. Oh , and the kid catcher on Chitty Chitty bang bang.
Being weird and being the oddball is what made him a musical genius because it freed him from maybe the constraints of what people expected him or her whoever to be. It’s freeing. It’s what creates an allows. Creativity to flourish freely. If you’re different and you try to be different and I go with the crowd not be a collectivist. These are the things that Prince champion. It’s all over his music and what he did if you want to remain amongst the masses wearing a mask you know, jumping on every platitude etc. etc. go ahead. You wanna wear your tennis shoes and caps. You wanna do what others do go ahead. But the messages that this artist specifically expressed along with others, was individuality and thinking for yourself and that makes some weird oddball, hallelujah!
Prince couldn't care less. Rick James was stone cold jealous of Prince along with Boy George, who lied 🤥 that he slept with Prince before admitting he lied. Prince was just different and could be difficult. But I NEVER heard Prince speak negatively about Rick James or any other hater. Prince bought joy in my life through his music that is still being released today. With that said, Prince loved his Blackness and song about it quite often. MJ and Prince had nothing but love and respect since 1979 when they both were in California recording at the same time and hanging out. So, STOP pretending otherwise.
Cut the BS. Michael Jackson and Prince were never close and at best only maintained a distant/fragile amiability. They reluctantly acknowledged each other as peers, but they did not socialize or form a friendship, tended to be threatened by each other, and usually resented being compared. Some people simply find it hard to choose between the two, so they try to pretend that they were friends or had some kind of deep respect. They weren't and they didn't.
@pensiveczar2239 You cut BS!😡With your very limited knowledge of Prince and Michael. They have socialized, and Michael have attended a Prince concert. In 79, Quincy Jones was producing the "Off The Wall" album for Michael and Prince was just 30 miles away in Beverly Hills, recording his debut album "Prince" and they would pick Prince up with the Jacksons and go skating. Michael has been to Paisley Park, where they played ping pong. Prince spent four days locked in his bedroom because he felt that bad about Michael's passing.
@pensiveczar2239 Furthermore, Quincy asked Prince if he could produce him in the future. That was the reason for contacting him. Prince responded, "No one will ever produce me."
Vanity was not a romantic interest of Rick’s. They were both at the AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS in 1982 and somehow people think that means Prince took her from Rick. Didn’t happen.
It's interesting to see how his interactions, from a bizarre pillow fight with Sinead O'Connor to the competitive feud with Rick James, paint a picture of a complex individual.
Dude was clearly an amazing talent, and I was a huge fan of his music, but he always seemed like someone I would never want to hang around with for a second.
Not in video. Questionable. Night Ranger. Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy were sent a note from management of Prince 🤴 to not talk or touch Prince. But, because the 2 members of Night Ranger were rebels, they did the opposite! 🤯 They talked to Prince 🤴 again when he won 🏆 an award at the AMA in 1985.
Prince may be some beloved icon to his fans, but having worked in the music biz and around industry employees from the 1980’s to just 15 years ago-he was NOT liked by many. While the pro, well-known musicians and artists did appreciate his talents, many (behind closed doors) thought him to be an arrogant little asshole diva. “Sure, he was creative and talented…but not enough to justify his personality” were the words of a famous and VERY well-known artist I spoke with.
Who are jealous. And there’s also indications that this happened at us at a recording studio just by watching and hearing a few stories you get the idea that there might’ve been not only jealousy but a lot of politics. In the mid 80s after the success of purple rain, he expressed an admiration for then President Reagan. That’s when the troubles began that the flashpoint. It wasn’t we are the world. He became so intolerable that it big part of the reason why he created his own records to move back at home is supposed to escape that kind of environment. That unverified entirely, in fairness From those times just in terms of recording song, creation, etc. studio use down to receipts. To the receipts and paperwork. Anyways, there might’ve been also, and this is typical because I work in the creator field undertones of ism and of doubting or suppressing people of color of which can do the job betterof which are believed not to do that work that well. Those are the bigger more pressing issues that seem to persist, hypocritically. But if I think if you’re smart fair and you learn to develop that acuity, just like Prince you can defeat it.
Everyone who criticized Prince had their own well published ego problems and hang ups. Take it all with a grain of salt. They all got publicity in exchange for a diss. Nothing has changed.
We put up with other people's personalities daily in life -- Prince may have been a prima donna but he very charitable and a musical genius -- I take the good with the bad and still listen to Prince to this day
Most flamboyant musicians are a act prince was prince 24/7 just weird and inferiority complex specially with his height, being short really messed with him!
@kevaughnramsay9846 You know Prince was a good musician, but some people are so jealous and envious of him that they don't want to give him any accolades.
He very obviously was a little maniac, but have you heard the"1999," "Controversy," "Parade," "Purple Rain," "The Time," and "Sign O' The Times" albums?!?! One of these would make a normal musician's career.
@@brownin329 maybe he was and certainly a peculiar chap but he was musically genius and did a lot to stand up for artistic rights against greedy record labels.
When people act untouchable or unapproachable it is often because they are shy. Even though he was famous I believe that because he was short he was a little shy and he fought with his insecurities about his height. He was a legend, nobody compares to him. He died way before his time. Then, only the good die young
