@DarkCoreX There is nothing wrong with hard levels, but often times level creators make difficult levels that don’t have good level design, or they make the design so ridiculous that they sacrifice good level design in order to make it harder.
@@misterlion4700 Because its what a B-side is supposed to be, just a harder version of the A-Side, just missed a more chiptune remix of Farewell to be a true B-side
@@Imperio_Otomano_the_realest The D-Sides dont really feel like that, they're just excrutiantingly painful versions of the chapters, B-Sides are just a challenging version of them
"ready for a real challenge? c sides have been unlocked and golden strawberries have appeared at the beginning of every chapter" says the game after you beat the harder version of the hardest chapter in the game
@@RealBasil143 platinum strawberries: you must create, program, bug test, and beat the entirety of celeste, all steam achivements, in one sitting without dying
@@blockmath_2048 netherite strawberries: you best beat all A, B, C, D, sides, all side mods, all mods in particular, in under a day, with 205+ berries collected
This actually feels like a b-side, using the tech you’ve learned on the a-side (wave-dashes), and establishes new tech (jellyfish boosts). It really makes it feel official
I know right?! Farewell still kicks the shit out of me, what with it's chain wavedashes and hyper wall jumps. All I want is to play the C sides man, why do I have to go through this level who's pain is equivalent to cock-and-ball-torture?!
I have to say it even though they may not agree I end up liking for much more 9B than 9D Reason? This respects the smallest detail of the 9A 9D is just another 7D but longer and unnecessary, for which I was not satisfied GG
i really like how you implemented the "heaven" part of the chapter not as a cutscene, but as a small playable area with Granny's house, and the fact that the Crystal Heart's name is "Empty Space", really cool.
17:25 I don't know why, but when I did this room I really felt like I was supposed to ultra all the way to the wall block, but no matter what I did I could not get my ultra to go far enough. I ended up having to use your method, but it really feels like a cheese.
at the first room I was like "just wavedash dumbass" and about 10 seconds after I realized you're actually good I don't have time to watch the full video now but good job
This actually looks like a great one for me to try. It looks difficult, and it'd certainly take a bunch of tries, but as of 8 rooms in nothing is looking impossible for me like D-sides etc do, so this may be really fun.
This is exactly how I imagined Farewell B-side. But I don't think that Ultra dash was necessary. In my opinion it is way too difficult even for Farewell B-side.
Real good map. Too bad I died around 4k times (I seriously don't wanna do the unnerfed version of the final room.) Also 3:59 imagine doing the intended strat in this room lel.
@@calypso4533 What about key skip? You have to jellyvator to do key skip, and it was obviously intended as they added a secret extra room you have to get past if you do it. Of course it’s not required to beat Farewell, but it’s still there.
I am curious, what's the tech being used in place of a wavedash? (it's used many times in the video but the earliest time it's used is at 0:47 I think) is it an extended hyper, an extended super or maybe it's just a wavedash but its performed differently. Or maybe it's something I haven't even heard of.
it an extended hyperdash, its basically a wave dash that starts on the ground. to perform it you do a normal hyper but jump late so madeline gets her dash back. at some points in the video they do a reverse extended hyperdash which is just an extended hyperdash, but they switch directions right before the jump.
9:07 this room utterly DESTROYED me, I had so much freaking trouble edit: also, I am genuinely concerned, why do you have GRAB set to f$&@ing SPACE of all keybinds?
I DEIFNITELY can't beat this right now, as there are at least 8 screens excluding the last mess of a screen that just seem a bit too hard since I'm still trying to get back into the game... but I will def. be getting this, and GGs!
@@lailoutherand yeah but this section is already in vanilla farewell, usually b sides have one extra room with blue and pink rythm blocks right before the heart
C side anyone? just imagine, 3 rooms that are all 2 minutes long. sounds like a good time to me *OH ALL THE RAGING THAT WILL COME FROM THAT lmao XD* 💀💀💀
@@ThreeletterIGN Wow, thanks, I didn’t know you were gonna actually try it lol, I would love to try it, but I have a few ideas, mainly incorporating some of the hardest speedrun tricks known to mankind and frame perfect demodashes in a row, rooms filled to the brim with spikes dreamblocks, wind currents and starfish, that make it so tight to manouvere that you can hardly get through alive, and also the three rooms being a testimony to each third of the level, but harder, the first screen being the beginning up to rememberance, then next being determination to reconciliation, and the final screen being a close image of the last screen from the b side, but 10 times harder, I already know by now *im just writing my own fricking death CONTRACT lmao XD ;D* 💀💀💀
@@TheHollowGuy i will try to make it as hard as possible while still being actually beatable. You have some really good ideas! I’ll definately do something with dreamblocks and the idea of having a room for each checkpoint in the original Farewell is very cool
