About this game:
From the developers of NeuroVoider, ScourgeBringer is a fast-paced free-moving roguelite platformer.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious entity wreaked havoc on all humanity, ScourgeBringer puts you in the shoes of the deadliest warrior of her clan: Kyhra. Help her to explore the unknown and slash her way through ancient machines guarding the seal of her past, and maybe the redemption of humanity.

There isn’t much game at the moment, there’s only 3 areas and only two branches can be unlocked on the tree from last I saw the game.

There are 4 floors, and yes i believe its still beta. I have owned it for a while and I would say its worth it.

Honestly this game looks like it could become akin to Downwell if the devs make good items and such, and lean into the fast-paced in-and-out balance of the game.

Game looks amazing. I hope they add small HP indicators or something to the enemies. Also I really wish combos and things like that weren't trapped behind upgrades. They should be a core element. Hope this game turns into a banger.

pretty sure what you were missing is the heavy attack is a deflect - the picture for it in the tutorial made it look like it deflected a bullet

Its ugly, repetetive, grindy and lacks content, also expensive. I seriously dont know why it gets so much praise and hype. The very system of costantly jumping and falling down is just annoying. Plus you have ONE melee weapon for the entire game and most upgrades are generic +5% type. Guns are peashooters. All bosses are bullet sponges. There is just so many better and cheaper roguelikes out there.

Hey NL. I think "Lucah: Born of a Dream" might be a good fit for Northernlion Tries. It's a bit of an older game, having come out in Late 2018, but I think it fits your gameplay preferences fairly well. It's a fairly short action RPG that has combat that feels similar to both this game and Ether Loop. It's a fairly small game from what I can tell, only having ~130 reviews on Steam. It's not a roguelike/roguelite but it does have a focus on multiple playthroughs in NG+ to understand the full story. I think you would enjoy it and I really think it would be a great fit for the series as well!

music gives me big Rebirth vibes. unbelievably polished for Early Access. this is made by the same guys who did NeuroVoider apparently? I'm guessing a Switch release is inevitable and I can't wait, this would make a great play-on-the-go game. still going to buy it on Steam for now.

Hey NL! I suggest trying out their previous title, NeuroVoider. I haven't seen a lot of coverage of that particular game. Also, since you mentioned once that you mostly look to cover stuff that went under the radar (and correct me if I'm wrong) I offer to try out TimeSpinner. It's an amazing metroidvania that somehow managed to go unnoticed despite it being a quality experience in the spirit of Symphony of the Night but with its own world, atmosphere and charm. Tho of course I understand if you feel like they're a bit too old for your series, but at least give them a look in your spare time if you can, for yourself first and foremost. Thank you for doing this series by the way! Really appreciate it!

maybe its easier to treat this movement as a dash to fast reach enemies instead of a dodge to avoid. Kind of attack is the best deffense :D Sry i hope this dosnt count as backseating. Please do some more Runs of this game.

Hey Northern! Have you played RAD? I can't seem to find a guide on it or find a community for it which is weird because it's kickass! Basically you're a teen from the 80's exploring a post post apocalypse (I didn't stutter!) The world got nuked twice and it's your job to heal the world. Give it a whirl!

NL, I would actually prefer that you raise the music and sounds as opposed to lowering them. I watched you play Cook, Serve, Delicious! on stream and later watched Baer play some and heard music and sounds during his stream that I did not hear during yours. They were nice and really added to the experience and did not make it hard to hear him at all. I hope you read this and try playing things a little louder. I think it will improve the viewing experience.

"I don't get how you dodge that" Well, for one, you're panicking and it has auto aim. When you dash you're just coating the floor with bullets and you DO NOT have any abilities (it seems, don't have access to the game obv) that make you "Invulnerable". Don't dash away from waves of bullets, walk, (relatively) slowly, and the attack will finish without you getting hit. P.S. Exclamation means smash attack, if you can ingrain that in your brain NL, given the gap between my skill level and yours (I'm saying you're far better at Roguelikes than I, since you basically do them for a living) you'll probably be able to flat out beat a run next time you play the game.

The big thing was absolutely "don't let them make the attack at all" yeah. NL was constantly already next to an enemy as the ! popped up, and then taking that to mean run instead of attack. But yeah, not rushing so that the bullets are dispersed was a big one too.
