Awesome sound...better than speakers costing way more !!! great selection of music...Mark Knopfler and also see you're a Pink Floyd fan...seems we both have the same taste in music!✌️🎶...If I didn't have Spendor S100...this ditton 33 would be my next choice...amazing sound and to me better than the ditton 44 or 66...liked and saved🎶
Sound distorted, seems something wrong, but otherwise superb, full, detailed and balanced sound. And to think that today new speakers of such sound quality cost an arm and a leg by comparison. Same applies to amp. Of course, those vintage Sansuis were and are fantastic, also by today's "high end" ultra expensive audio gear, standards.
Thank You! I love them too, they sound very well-balanced. The stands from bottom to the top: oehlbach shock absorber, granite board (nero assoluto), and the stands are from a german internet-store called "soundboerse.de". You will also find them on the german ebay-site: Item: "Boxenstaender BX-20B" Height: 20cm, 40cm or 60cm. I have chosen the 20cm option. Cheers and thanks for your comment :)
PRIZEBEAUTY I sometimes use it while non-critical listening at very low volume levels, to compensate the human ear's non-linearity at low levels. otherwise I never use it. no tone controls at all! basically most of the loudness-options are meaningless because of their non-adaptability!
I don't remember the circumstances, but I had a pair of Ditton 300s for a time. I remember being very excited when I came upon them, as I had such fond memories of the 33s from my early audio explorations. Best speakers I had heard at the time. However, I was quite disappointed by the 300s, they lacked (to me) the presence that I had come to know in the 33s. As I said, I don't really remember what I did with them, but the fact that I don't still have them seems an answer to how they were for me!
