• A cell membrane allows the entry of only selective molecules inside the cell.
• A cell wall is the rigid covering of the plant cells present outside the cell membrane and
is made of cellulose.
• The movement of substances across a cell takes place by diffusion and osmosis.
• Diffusion is the movement of substances from a region of higher solute concentration
to a region of lower solute concentration.
