It makes no difference at all. Synthetics work at least as well if not better

Nonsense. It doesn't require a boar at all. Any brush will do. What it needs is a lot of water. Much more water. Then you'll have the santa lather going.

I agree with Beg033, I find that whatever the brush, stiffer bristle and more water are what you need for some soaps. They each have their own combo of factors that help or hinder.
