If you have been to the San Antonio River Walk this week, you might have noticed a big change as the river has been drained for both cleaning and minor construction.
I've spent my entire life in San Antonio. As the years progressed, so did the downtown area. The shops and restaurants on each of the river which would end up leading to the Mall. Everything was changing with the exception of the stench of the river water. Leaves cluttered the surface area of the water. Year after year the City fails to install airiation systems to pump air back into the river. Install skimmer baskets on back of boats to collect leaves and debris. OK City Council, find a better way!
A lot has changed since then sir. 76 was a long time ago to still feel you love a place. It’s gross! And smells like sewage. Rude people. Just gives you the ick nowadays.
Good old Riverwalk...the clean up to remove debris..would volunteer to monitor the collection...1983 ..mostly hula hoops ...and frisbee..no phones maybe a fruit crate or old fuller brush vacuum from a hotel close by ...Walked with Park Rangers bump into local Sport reporter Dan Cook ..talking to Mr Broadhind..joking with newspaper editor Maury Maverick..one could visit them at the Emily Morgan or Menger Hotel...darn I feel old.😌
@Gary Jackson True , but almost swamp like . Since going through the heart of the city, why not filter it some? Not all . Make a little more attractive.
