It reacts quickly with oxygen, because of the nitro groups, it makes basically everything more reactive, and nitrocellulose (the thing in video), is used in modern gunpowder because of it's quick combustion speed.
@@killgaet6253 thats what i was wondering if you could maybe change it out for gunpowder or mix it in Since its a lot easier to make and the materials to make it are very easy to come by aswel
@@wesleydamen2018 well it IS gunpowder (not black powder, but modern smokeless powder), and single base gunpowder is almost only nitrocellulose, while double base which burns faster and is used in handguns has nitroglycerin in it.
