CELTIC FROST STILL AND DID CHANGE MY LIFE FOREVER JUST LIVE EM ......PIONEERS OF ALL EXTREME MUSIC THAT CAME AFTER....INFLUENTIAL. ..EVERYTHING ROLLED INTO ONE MASSIVE APOCALYPTIC RAID.....THANKS GUYS AND R.I.P MARTIN.....SADLY MISSED....CROWEMAN IN THE UK EX GENITAL DEFORMITIES. .
Classic lineup! Tom, Martin (rip), and one the most influential metal drummers of all time, and a huge influence on me Reed St.Mark. emperors return ep.( love that artwork) to mega therion & into the pandemonium ( my favorite)! What a incredible 3 piece they were. Reed st. Mark is certainly one of the most underrated metal drummers.
Jackie Robinson YMCA? If so, this was the "riot" show that Tom writes about in his book. Which wasn't really a "riot" as you can see. They just cut the set very short because some skinheads were running around behind the stage. My friend's car back window did get smashed in, in the parking lot though. I talked with Tom before and after the show. He was in good spirits before the show, but afterwards, was very down and pissed off. Didn't want to talk to anyone. Reed St Mark was pretty jovial though. I interviewed Tom that day before the show. I should post it some day after I convert it to digital.
The San Diego "Metal" Scene was pretty much Non-Existant in the 1980s. Besides the Big Areana Shows(Ozzy, Maiden, Priest, Scorpions, etc.) that took place at the San Diego Sports Areana. The metal scene in L.A. was 50x better for these types of shows in the 1980s.
I was there that night & always wondered why the show was cut short. I heard the rumor about the riot but I didn't see anything from where I was at. Glad to have that nearly 40 year old mystery solved.
@@jaytracks Oh, yeah. And I know some of them personally. Nokturnal Mortum and Malice (their albums from the 90s and early 2000s are also available here)
Thanks 🥂🖤 for this loveliness! We are from a galaxy far away so no worries. We call them the godz of Celtic Frost, not Seltic Frost but it's all good and cheers!!
I saw this tour twice in NYC. Of all things I saw back in that metal era, this is the number one event. They were so unique, at the shows I thought I was seeing history, beyond any event that ever occurred ever in mankind. I was that into it.
I saw this tour with Celtic Frost and Voi Vod at Peabody’s Downunder in Cleveland,Ohio in July 1986! Running Wild was supposed to open but they either dropped off the entire tour or couldn’t into the US? Local thrash legends Destructor took the opening slot! CC and VV were so astonishingly epic, it was a life changing event! Like someone else said on this thread, it was like witnessing history in the making! It actually was history because the next time they came to Cleveland it was either on the cold lake or the vanity nemesis tour, so I passed! I traded for an audio recording of that go and they played mostly old songs so I wished I went! They broke up soon after that era but they did come back for their reunion tour in 2006 and Luckily, I took a picture with Martin Ain, which turned out to be my last chance to do so! Martin was the only one cool enough to come out afterwards to chill with the frost fans! My friend Jim Konya had him sign his CF clone band Nordic Mist’s CD, it was hilarious to see Martin’s reaction! May Jim and Martin both RIP!
Same deal. I saw this tour in Brooklyn, they dropped Running Wild and Whiplash (totally badass) opened. Then Voi Vod. I remember a guy telling me he saw The Sex Pistols, it was about 90 he said this. But I always think of this tour the same way. The music was just too different, so heavy and back then hard to explain. Seeing it live just was everything.
i seen em' here in L.A. on this tour with VOI VOD it was epic. then two years later with EXODUS also epic. i hated the hair bands but that aside the 80's was bar none the greatest decade fer metal.
