He lied to the Celtic organization and city of Boston (fans) by saying he planned on resigning with Boston, then he retracted by saying he'd make his free agent decision on July 1st that year. When in truth, the entire time he and KD had made plans to join up in Brooklyn. He screwed the Celtics by not informing them, he walked away, and they got nothing in return for a superstar-caliber NBA player. All this after he had stated his intention to resign with Boston from the get-go. Him wiping his feet on the C's logo was just retaliation for the treatment the fans were showing him when he played there in Boston. They should boo him for the rest of his career in my opinion, even though in hindsight, not resigning him was one of the best things for the franchise moving forward.

He spent the whole time leading up to the finals giving interviews how he now has complete control over his emotions and that he has unlocked this inner ability to maintain internal peace, and then is immediately affected by the fans during game 1. Celtics fan here. Luka can never be greatest ever with his horrible defence. He was historically bad. Most drives allowed per game. He has maybe one more chance at a title next year but after that it will be too hard for him to reach the Finals. Also your Kyrie take is pure casual trash. You would also get stomped by an average Celtics female fan.
Kyrie had sense enough to know that they were not coming back with 2minutes and a few seconds left in the game. Why the fuck would he stay on the floor? he went over to the Celtic's bench to congratulate them. That is what good sportsmanship is, you show as much humility in losing as you do in winning. The fans take it personally but the Mavs and the Celtics know how hard it is to win and you have to respect the efforts of both teams.
